1909年9月24日，京张铁路比原定计划提前2年建成，工程用费只及外国人估计的1/5。这一铁路的建成，沟通了北京与西北的联系，打破了英国和沙俄企图夺取该铁路建筑权的迷梦；同时，也大大提高了中国自己建设铁路的信心。

清末，帝国主义疯狂争夺中国铁路建筑权。具重要战略地位的京张铁路（北京-张家口）建筑权，更是英国和沙俄激烈争夺的目标。英俄各自向清朝提出威胁：中国若不能用自己的钱和工程师来建筑京张铁路，就必须由他们来修筑。在这重重压力下，1905年詹天伯承担了修筑京张铁路的任务，这是中国人第一次用自己的钱和工程师修建的艰苦的工程。接受任务后，他排除万难，颇多建树。尤其是与工人并肩战斗，打通了长达1091米的闻名世界的八达岭隧道，更为人所赞誉。

詹天佑是我国铁路工程专家，毕业于美国耶鲁大学，1905年到1909年他主持修建我国自建的第一条铁路--京张铁路。在修建中因地制宜运用“人”字形线路，减少工程数量，并利用“竖井施工法”开挖隧道。

中国的早期铁路是与杰出的铁路工程师詹天佑的名字分不开的。詹天佑为我国铁路事业艰苦奋斗了一生。在他从事铁路事业的30多年中，几乎没有一日离开过铁路，当时我国修建的每一条铁路，也差不多都和他发生过不同程度的联系。

詹天佑1861年出生在广东南海县。12岁时，由于家庭生活困难，到香港考取幼童出洋预备班，赴美国留学。1881年6月以考试第一名的优异成绩毕业于耶鲁大学铁路专修科，同年8月返回祖国。在学生时代他就立志要通过修筑铁路，使祖国富强起来。在他回国之后担当的铺筑塘沽到天津之间的铁路和修建滦河大桥的工程中，就初露锋芒，使那些自命不凡的外国工程师也不得不叹服。詹天佑一生的贡献很多，其中最突出的当属修建京张铁路。

那是义和团运动失败后，民族危机日益严重，我国人民纷纷要求保卫路权，自修铁路。清政府不得不改变主意，决定自己修筑第一条重要的铁路——京张铁路。1905年5月，清政府派詹天佑任京张路会办（后升总办）兼总工程师。

京张铁路长约200多公里，经过长城内外的燕山山脉。这一带到处是崇山峻岭，南口到岔道城的“关沟段”尤为险峻，八达岭是最高峰。詹天佑负责修建京张铁路的消息刚一传出，帝国主义分子马上挖苦说：“会修铁路通过关沟段的中国工程师还没出世呢！”攻击詹天佑出任京张铁路总工程师是“狂妄自大”，“自不量力”。当时国内不少人对自建这样的铁路也是缺乏信心的。詹天佑一心为国争光，顶住了来自国内外的一切怀疑、非难和诬蔑。1906年10月24日，他在给他在美国求学时的一位老师的信中表明了他的决心和信念：“中国已经醒过来了。中国人要用自己的工程师和自己的钱来建筑铁路，我好像是列在最前线的中国工程师。所有中外人士都在注视我所主持的京张路工程。如果京张路工程失败的话，不但是我个人的不幸，中国工程师的不幸，同时将会带给中国很大的损失。在我接受这一任务前后，许多外国人露骨宣称中国工程师不能担当京张线的石方和山洞等艰巨工程，但是我坚持我的工程，现第一段工程已经完工……。”詹天佑以惊人的毅力去完成京张路修建的每项工作。塞外经常狂风怒号，灰沙满天。人们随时都有被大风卷入深谷的危险。詹天佑亲自率领工程人员，背着标杆、经纬仪在悬崖峭壁上定点制图。为了寻找一条理想的筑路线路，他常常骑着小毛驴在崎岖的山径上奔波；白天翻山越岭，晚上伏在油灯下绘图计算。经过实际勘测和调查，他曾经选定过三条线路，其中有一条就是1949年后建成的丰沙线。这条线路较其它两条，列车通过能力更高，运输量更大，而工程也更艰巨，经费要超过原预算700万两银子的好几倍。腐朽的清政府对此是不会感兴趣的。詹天佑不得不放弃这条在他看来是比较理想的线路。

京张铁路最困难的是八达岭隧道工程。为了确保提前建成这条铁路，詹天佑决定八达岭隧道采用分段施工的方法。这在当时我国施工机械十分简单和落后的情况下，是很不容易的。为了保证隧道施工质量，詹天佑吃住在现场，亲自把关，对定线、定位，甚至对每一个炮眼的直径和距离都要亲自过目。他这样不分昼夜地勤奋工作，使现场施工的所有员工无不深受感动。詹天佑还创造性地运用了“折返线”的原理，在山多坡陡的青龙桥修筑一段“人”字形线路，使关沟段的线路坡度降低到33‰以下，八达岭隧道长度减少到一半。詹天佑还根据山区筑路的特点，就地取材，设计了许多具有民族特色、宏伟壮观的石拱桥。不仅节省了钢材，还大大降低了工程造价。詹天佑提出的“花钱少、质量好、完工快”的三个要求，都实现了。1909年10月2日，在通车典礼的会场上，中外来宾对詹天佑表示异常钦佩。他非常谦虚地说：“这是京张铁路一万多员工的力量，不是我个人的功劳，光荣是应该属于大家的。”

京张铁路的修成，极大地鼓舞了中国人民的民族自信心，推动了广大群众“收回路权”、自办铁路的爱国运动。此后后，詹天佑除主持建筑张家口到绥远的铁路外，还应邀担任川汉和粤汉等商办铁路的负责工作，努力培养中国自己的技术人员。他投身保路运动，热烈欢迎辛亥革命，觉得这是救中国的希望，并以实际行动帮助孙中山先生实现修建10万英里铁路的计划。

公元1919年1月，詹天佑被派出席协约国“中东铁路监管委员会”的会议，同帝国主义占领中东铁路的侵略行径进行了坚决斗争，并致电“巴黎和会”，反对帝国主义掠夺全中国铁路的阴谋诡计。他面对祖国的坎坷命运，心忧如焚，回首一生，壮志未酬，在极度紧张的工作中他病倒了，最后终因操劳过度，病势转重，于1919年4月24日不幸逝世，享年58岁。

詹天佑在我国铁路史上写下了光辉的一页，人民将永远怀念他。

When I was very small, I was so envious about the adults, because they

could do whatever they wanted and did not have to depend on their parents. For

me, I did not have money and my parents limited my pocket money, so I couldn’t

spend the money to buy whatever I wanted. It seems to me that being an adult is

read. In this book, the great author Cao xueqin his view about love. He had

firmly faith in what is the true love and try to tell us that there are

different kinds of love, only one kind which should be considered as True

Love.

In a dream, and under mythical circumstances, the main character of the

novel, Jia baoyu, met the Fairy Disenchantment in the Land of Illusions. She

showed him three "registers" each containing the names and "the happenings in

life" of 12 girls in his clan. Each girl represents a kind of love.

From the stories which are unfolding in the novel, the reader should know

the characteristics of the different kinds of love, and should be able to

distinguish True Love from the other kinds.

True love is acceptance, committal, mutual and without any post conditions.

The love between Lin daiyu and Jia baoyu is considered to be True Love. Just

saying or hearing I love you is not good enough because talk is cheap. Action in

mutual commitment is essential, as we can see in the novel.

We always have dreams. What’s ours dream? Do you know what you exactly

want? And do you work hard for it. In this book, you can taste the feeling of

the author about his strong will. In his words, you can find the charm of

Chinese. It is not a book, but a precious deposits. You can get a lot from it.

But unfortunately, the novel was never "completed" to such a state. On the other

hand, maybe, it is another kind of beauty of the book. If you have not read this

book yet, just go and read it. You will love it.

In North, when winter comes, the weather is very cold, the cloud covers the

sunshine all the time, it is hard for people to see the sunshine. So the

Today is Mid-autumn Day. I have a big meal at home with my parents and

relatives. This is an important festival， so my mother was busy with preparing

the dinner from morning. She bought a lot of foods for the dinner. We ate the

dinner at 5：30 p.m.. The dinner was very delicious. I was so full. After dinner，

we went to theHongTingParkto enjoy the glorious full moon. There were many

people in the park.We talked to each other and strangers. Of course， the moon

cake was essential. We had a great night there.

My mother has a pair of keen eyes which can speak. With her eyes,she observed my mood, gave me courage and made me strong. Therefore, I could face difficulties.

Girls at a training course offered by the "Care for Girls" program in

Qingjian county, Shaanxi province, talked about their pursuit of dreams despite

living in unfavorable conditions.

the program helps girls in underdeveloped regions to build their self-esteem and

burden," Yan said.

The Mid-Autumn Day

August 15th in Chinese Lunar Calendar is the Mid-Autumn Day. It is one of

the most important traditional festivals in China.

On that day people usually go back home to have family reunion. Each family

will have the members get together to have a big dinner. The most popular food

is moon cakes. They are round and look like the moon.

The moon is the brightest this night. People eat the delicious food while

they are enjoying a beautiful full moon in their yard. At this time, some old

people would like to tell many past events and tell the children a story about

the rabbit on the moon . The children really believe that there is a rabbit on

the moon. They hope to go to the moon and have a look one day.

这是我熟悉的《外婆的澎湖湾》。这首歌在我差不多懂事的时候—就学会唱了，说到这个，我现在不得不承认自己确实是想念外婆了，想念我与她生活的那段日子，想念小时候她哄我说的话，想念她给我讲的故事，想念她的一切。在我刚出生，外婆就把我抱回了旧宅。因为老妈是门诊的医生，没时间照顾我，外婆恰好没事干，所以在我没懂事之前是一直住在外婆的旧宅。旧宅只有外婆一个人住，外公人在外地。那时候的外婆啊清闲的很，这不，老妈不生了个我嘛，外婆的日子才滋润了起来。老妈说我10个多月就学会了走路，可没少给外婆她添麻烦，到处搞破坏。摆在角落里的那些瓷瓶被我打碎的所剩无几，那些老旧的硬板床的板子给我跳断了，玻璃镜碎了，单车拆了，电视坏了，锅砸烂了，还有纺织机也变成了残缺的了……无恶不作的我，外婆更是愤怒了，追着我满屋子跑，我还咧着嘴嘻嘻的笑。要说幼年的我什么时候能安分，还真没有，就连睡觉也是拳打脚踢的。对于外婆来说，她觉得我吃饭的时候最难整。左手捏一块肉，右手抓一把青菜，一边跑一边往嘴里塞，什么女孩子啊，完全是男孩附身。出于无奈，不知什么时候外婆竟给我讲起她小时候的故事。外婆的故事比白雪公主灰姑娘更来的吸引人，我也深深的迷住了。每次吃饭我都要求外婆给我讲一个故事，每次外婆讲到精彩之处就会停下来灌我几口饭再继续讲下去。其中故事里我最熟悉的是大虫（老虎），哪个小孩要是不听话还大声哭的话，大虫就会把他叼走吃掉，所以我很少哭，也被外婆治得服服贴贴的。日复一日年复一年，转眼三年过去了，外婆的故事讲得也差不多完了，我也离开了外婆跟着爸妈一起生活。后来旧宅空了，外婆也搬走了。这些年来我给外婆带来了许多麻烦，也带来了许多欢乐……

记忆中那些被打碎的瓷器、残缺的纺织机、还有我对外婆的回忆，都熟悉的回放着。

Almost all of us heard the story “Here Comes the Wolf” when we were little

kids. What we can learn from the story is that we must be honest. However,

there’re lots of phenomena of dishonesty nowadays。

Being dishonest does great harm not only to other people but also to

yourself. Take the case of fake milk powder for example. After drinking this

kind of milk, the babies had big heads while their legs and arms were still

thin, which badly affected their health. To our great relief, the producers got

accused and punished for all the serious consequences in the end。

Having the reputation of being honest and reliable will make other people

trust you, which will provide you many benefits and give you opportunities that

others may not get. Being honest, you will find it easier to cooperate with

others and people will be friendly to you and support you. In a sense, if life

is a long journey, honesty will be the backpack that should be taken along all

the way. Let’s pick up our “backpack”—honesty, and start the wonderful

journey!

The Dragon Boat Festival is a lunar (阴历)holiday, occurring (存正)on the fifth

day of the fifth lunar month (农历史五月第五天). Dragon Boat Festival is my favourite

festival.During the holiday of Dragon Boat Festival,I got together with my

family to have a big meal.We ofen ate the zongzi.It tasted very nice.And we saw

the Dragon Boat Races.I felt excited because the race was bustling with noise

and excitement.At Dragon Boat Festival,we also drank realgar wine.Some people

thought drank realgar wine can protect themselves from illness.Dragon Boat

Festival was interesting and I like it very much.

The Chinese Dragon Boat Festival is a significant (有意义的)holiday celebrated

(庆祝)in China, and the one with the longest history (历史最悠久). The Dragon Boat

Festival is celebrated by boat races (龙舟赛) in the shape of dragons. Competing

teams (竞争团队) row their boats forward to a drumbeat (击古)racing to reach the

finish end first.

The boat races during the Dragon Boat Festival are traditional customs

(传统习俗)to attempts to (试图)rescue (搭救) the patriotic poet (爱国诗人)Chu Yuan. Chu Yuan

drowned (溺死) on the fifth day of the fifth lunar month in 277 B.C. Chinese

citizens now throw bamboo leaves (竹叶) filled with cooked rice into the

water.

Therefore the fish could eat the rice rather than the hero poet. This later

on turned into the custom of eating tzungtzu and rice dumplings(棕子).

The celebrations is a time for protection (防护) from evil (邪恶) and disease

(疾病) for the rest of the year. It is done so by different practices such as

hanging healthy herbs on the front door, drinking nutritious concoctions (营养品),

and displaying (展示) portraits (画像) of evils nemesis(邪恶报应), Chung Kuei. If one

manages to (成功做...) stand (直立)an egg on its end at exactly 12:00 noon, the

following year will be a lucky one.

Today, people eat bamboo-wrapped steamed glutinous(粘的) rice dumplings

called zongzi (the food originally intended to feed the fish) and race dragon

boats in memory of Qus dramatic death.
