一天，迈克又开始耍酷似的在大街上闲逛，顺便找些可以写的材料。迈克是个只要风度不要温度的人，再加上天空飘着小雪，他便开始可怜起他那件厚厚的毛衣。这时，他发现一个比他“抖”得还要厉害的人。那是个小男孩，他穿的极少，蜷在街道一角，浑身瑟缩着，面前摆着一个要饭的碗。路上行人来来往往，没有人注意到他。

“叔叔，给我口饭吃吧。”小男孩苦苦哀求。

迈克注意看了一下他要饭的碗，那里面只有灰尘，几乎就是化学中所谓的“单质”。给他吧，有损我高贵的形象;不给他，又会让别人觉得我没有同情心。迈克开始了激烈的思想斗争。最终，他还是作出了决定――给小孩一角钱。

上课铃响了，第一堂就是班主任的课。李老师踩着铃声走进教室，同学们的心一下子提到嗓子眼，教室静得有些叫人害怕。大家既希望老师看到那封信，又怕老师看到那封信，值得庆幸的是，李老师走到讲台前，放下提包和课本，正好压在那封信上。我松了一口气。开始上课了。同学们一个个缩着脑袋，用书挡着脸，看起来好像在读书，而注意力完全集中在老师的举动上。老师一面向黑板，同学们就从书缝里偷偷地打量着老师。老师一边领读课文，一边踱着步子走到教室后边，同学们的眼光也跟了过去。老师一抬头，同学们“呼啦”一下子又都转了过来，读书声也洪亮了。老师转过身往教室前面走，同学们听着老师的皮鞋声一点点逼近，自己却又不敢扭头看一眼，生怕老师从起伏不定的读书声里察觉到点什么。我的手心一阵冷汗。下课铃响了。同学们长吁了一口气，心里的石头好像落了地。可李老师并没马上走，开口打破了这寂静：“通过反复比较，慎重思考，我认为张楠的工作成绩突出，我的这一票给张楠。”同学们一下子都震惊了。既而是一片掌声。

“不好!”谁喊了一声。大家你看看我，我看看你，把目光一下子集中到讲台上。心里默默祈祷着：“千万不要让老师发现那封信。”但事情好像偏偏要和大家作对似的，就在老师拿起提包起身刚要走时，那封信随着提包带起的风飘到了地上，大伙刚刚松的弦一下子又绷紧了。李老师捡起信，打开看了看，笑着说：“有这么多人支持我的观点，我很高兴有这么多知音。”我心里上下翻腾，不知是宽慰，是惊喜，是懊恼，是信任，还是敬佩……

一天下午班会课，化学老师又和往常一样拿来了一堆卷子让我们做，好在我们已经习以为常了，谁都没说什么。可奇怪的是，她发完卷子后却说：“今天，我不能监考，全凭大家自觉。”说完，便走出了教室。我们大家都很诧异她这个决定，第一次在无人监考的情况下答卷。

正当大家得意之时，老师真的来了。我们却没一人看见。老师也一直没进来，只是在门缝那儿站着，用一双失望的眼睛看着。或许是太久了，老师推门进来。我们简直惊呆了，大家都知道，一场暴风雨将要来临。

停了几分钟，化学老师遗憾的说：“我本以为三班同学很自觉很听话，现在我错了。你们太令我伤心了。”说完扭头走了。我们互相对视，无话可说。正当这时，班主任梁老师走了进来，她严肃地说：“这是一次特殊的考试，凡是自己独立完成的请先交上来。其他人的试卷也已经完成了使命。”接着她把我们的卷子收了上去，扔进了废纸篓。“班长请你总结刚才的情况。”什么，有人进行课堂记录?我不敢相信自己的耳朵。
