习近平总书记于2014年9月24日在纪念孔子诞辰2565周年国际学术研讨会暨国际儒学联合会第五届会员大会开幕会上作重要讲话，指出“宋明理学”是“中国传统文化，尤其是作为其核心的思想文化的形成和发展”的五大历史时期之一，高度评价以朱子为代表的闽派儒学和宋明理学对中国思想文化的贡献。

朱子是我中华民族自孔、孟以来最重要的思想家。他的著述宏富，思想博大精深，他所编著的《四书集注》自元朝以来成为科举考试的重要依据，对我国的政治、思想、学术及教育乃至一般社会文化之发展，产生了全面性深远的影响。1175年，朱子与吕祖谦合编北宋四子之言论选辑为《近思录》，并以《近思录》为《四书》之阶梯。由于朱子对教育的重视与身体力行，才使得他的学问能感召众多弟子，而终能大行于其身后。

端午节吃粽子，这是中国人民的又一传统习俗。粽子，又叫“角黍”、“筒粽”。其由来已久，花样繁多。

据记载，早在春秋时期，用菰叶(茭白叶)包黍米成牛角状，称“角黍”;用竹筒装米密封烤熟，称“筒粽”。东汉末年，以草木灰水浸泡黍米，因水中含碱，用菰叶包黍米成四角形，煮熟，成为广东碱水粽。

晋代，粽子被正式定为端午节食品。当时包粽子的原料除糯米外，还添加中药益智仁，煮熟的粽子称“益智粽”。时人周处《岳阳风土记》记载：“俗以菰叶裹黍米，……煮之，合烂熟，于五月五日至夏至啖之，一名粽，一名黍。”南北朝时期，出现杂粽。米中掺杂禽兽肉、板栗、红枣、赤豆等，品种增多。粽子还用作交往的礼品。
