I live with my father and mother in a very big house in Dongguan. My parents are both very busy. They leave for work very early in the morning and don’t return home until late in the evening.

When I am home on weekends from school, we spend a lot of time together. We talk about my studies, my health and my school life. I love my parents very much.

My grandparents are still living, but they don’t live with us. Their health is good and they both do sports very early in the morning. My grandmother does gymnastics with elderly women her age in the park. Both of my grandfathers play basketball in the morning and sometimes they go swimming.

The first day for me to go to high school, I felt so excited, because I came into the new stage of my life. My teacher gave me an assignment "experience life" last week. I had been thinking how to finish it because I had never done any thing by myself before.

Mother was out today. It was a good chance to complete the assignment. Seeing the barrel was empty, I decided to fetch water from the well.

I took the empty barrel and went towards the well outside the yard. It snowed yesterday, so the alley was very slippery. A layer of thickice was frozen on the platform of the well. I was frightened by the sight, but I gathered my courage to walk towards it.

The alley was so slippery that I walked with difficultly. Suddenly, I slipped and fell down, water in the barrel totally poured down on the ground. I stepped on the platform carefully. After standing steadily and squatting down slowly, I hooked the barrel at the end of the rope and put the rope down slowly. I made an effort to drag the barrel up after it was filled with water. I was very careful because it was easy to slip and fall. Then, I carried the barrel of water and returned to my house. My figners were frozen stiff. I realized my effort was in vain. I hated myself.

I failed to finish the assignment but I did experience life through a trifle which seemed easy but difficult to do well. Such was my first experience of life.

Low-carbon Life

Low-carbon life is good for everyone. To help with the environment，I always walk or ride a bike to school instead of taking a car. Besides，I will try to use things that can be recycled and I never forget to turn off the lights when I leave the classroom. I think it‘s my duty to live a low-carbon life. And even the simplest activities can make a real difference to the environment. So I suggest we should reuse books as long as possible. And we’d better not spend much money on expensive clothes. It wasn’t until two years after I returned that I wished I had spent more time living in the moment while experiencing the greatest adventure of my life. I was not comfortable enough in my own skin to truly be present in the magical moments presenting themselves in a foreign country.

直到我回来两年后，我才希望当时要是我能有更多的时间活在当下，经历人生中最大的冒险就好了。当时我不够放松、自信，无法在一个陌生的国家，在那样神奇的时刻，把它们展现出来。

My mind stayed distracted as I wondered what people were thinking of me, and what I would post online to my friends back home.

当我在想我在人们心中是什么样子，当我在想回家后我会在网上发布什么内容时我就会分神。

At 19 years old, it seemed much more important to capture photos to upload to social media. The Internet was a crutch for me to not feel so alone in an unknown territory. As brave as I was to be completely alone in my adventure, I had a thousand people to “connect” with on my lonely nights!

19岁时对我来说，拍摄照片并把它们传到社交媒体上要更为重要。互联网对我来说是个拐杖，能让我在未知的领域中不会感觉到那么孤独。和我独自一人冒险时一样勇敢，在孤独的夜晚，我有一千人可以去“交流”。

Two years later I realized that I could have filled my days with activities for growth.

两年后，我意识到，我可以用有助于自己成长的活动来填满日子。

I now wish I had traveled to nearby cities, spent my days reading in a cafe, tried acupuncture—anything out of the ordinary.

现在我希望我能游遍附近的城市，把时间用在在咖啡馆里阅读、尝试针灸——任何与众不同的东西上。

The truth was I didn’t have the hobbies I have now. The trip did help me grow, but I regret that I could not simply enjoy the moments, instead of wanting thousands of others to see I was enjoying them.

事实上，我现在的爱好以前都没有。旅行确实帮我成长，但我后悔当时我没能享受当下的时光，而是去让成千上万个人看着我在享受。

I discovered that if I want to be happy, it would be my own doing. Happiness is an interior process and comes without validation from others.

我发现如果我想要开心，那是我自己的事情。幸福是内心的过程，不需要得到别人的认可。

This is something that is a lesson to be relearned each day.

这是我每天都要再次重新学习的人生课。

Spending small moments of time alone—sans phone, tablet, laptop, TV, and radio—allows one to really tune in. We need to ask ourselves things like: What is my body telling me today? How do I feel today?

用碎片时间进行独处——关掉手机、平板电脑、笔记本、电视和收音机——允许自己真正地进行调整。我们需要问问自己：我的身体今天告诉我什么?今天感觉如何?

There are all kinds of things we can do to enjoy our alone time, some of them very simple. I enjoy my shower, my yoga practice, and the scenic drive home, all without communication to the exterior world. This helps me to really absorb my practice and just “be.” I find it helpful to journal, old fashion style, with a pen and paper after this little escape.

我们可以做很多事情来享受独处的时光，有些事情非常简单。我喜欢淋浴，喜欢瑜伽练习，喜欢在开车回家的路上看秀丽的风 景，这些都不需要和外部世界联系。这能帮我真正消化自己的所做所为，仅仅安静的待着。我发现在这种小小的消遣之后，用在纸上用笔写日记这样古老的方式很有帮助。

Do you think what is the most important in your life? Maybe some answers

are dreams. I may directly answer “lovers”.

In my opinion, lovers not simply mean your partner of life, but the people

you love: your parents, husband or wife, children and friends. I have a happy

life because of their company. I even can’t imagine the life without them.

My mum told me” money is not as important as you think, you neednt think

too highly of it. Don’t be greedy, my girl.” I got it. Person around us is the

most important. If they are unhappy, you won’t be happy. There is many beautiful

scenery in our life, however, the most important thing we should notice is that,

without the people we love, they worth nothing.

In reality, many people are chasing wealth which results to the ignorance

of people around them. Obviously, its not a brilliant choice. Don’t’ be

controlled by wealth or money. About life , this is my idea, what’s about

yours?

保护环境，从我做起，这对我们每个人来说都很重要，而且对我们每个人的幸福也有很大关系。人类的每一次发展，每一次进步，每一样都是大自然赐予我们的。从一草一木，到黄金白银，再到今天的被誉为“黑金”的石油。人类的进步，在这不知是不是两厢情愿的联姻中，最终获益的总是人类，付出的总是大自然。我们必须马上行动起来，从我做起，从现在做起，保护环境，保护自然，创建绿色校园，共建美好家园。

伴随着现代社会的快度发展，人类已经进入了空前的文明时代，我们应该生活在优美的环境中，眼前应该是一望无际的树林、清澈潺潺的河水、绿茵茵的草地、盛开着美丽的花朵……鸟儿在天空中自由地飞翔……但是我们看到的却是光秃秃的山坡、发黑发臭的河水、一片焦黄的草地和枯萎过半的残枝败柳……是让人感到窒息的环境。这富有诗情画意的美景不能伴随在我们的身边？我们的心情会多么的沉痛。因此，我们不能把“扔”当做“大方”，如果全世界的人个个扔，天天扔，地球会变成垃圾场；如果全球的人个个捡，天天捡，就是资源回收，有利于生态平衡；多参加环保活动，多植树，多种花，使我们永远拥有蓝天、白云、碧水、绿地的美丽家园，让我们拥有一颗绿色心情……

动物是人们的朋友，更是大自然的朋友。他们应该与世无争、幸福地生活在大自然之中，但是我们看到的却是野生动物在流血流泪，野生动物成了人类的餐桌上的一盘盘美味佳肴……看到的是生态平衡遭到的严重破坏。人类的行为也无疑会遭到自然的惩罚，自然灾害连年不断，地震，泥石流、沙暴、血雨、酸雨，森林火灾，农林病虫害等……我们常常会看到一些自私的人把小鸟囚禁在笼子里，使它们得不到自由，人们利用小鸟痛苦的叫声、失去自由的身影来换取自己的开心。此时我多么想去阻止他们，让他们还给鸟儿自由！

水是一个人生活所必不可少的东西，而我国又是一个严重缺乏水资源的国家，所有的人都应该珍惜水资源，节约用水。每年3月22日为世界水日，从5月开始的“长江行动”中，我们有那么多的企业在做着什么样的勾当？他们把长江当作一个可容纳污水的地方，把长江当做污水处理厂，能够从中节省下那么一点昧良心的产品成本，可是他们看到自己的做法的后果了吗？回答是否定的：“没有”。如果我们每个人都来保护环境，节约用水，保护淡水资源，我们的人民的健康和国家的发展就不会受到威胁。可是当我们走进洗手间时，常会看到一些学生玩打水仗，有的还不愿拧住水龙头，任水流淌，看到这些情景，我们每个人都有责任制止这样的行为，并告诉他们浪费水有多么的可怕。我们不仅面临水资源匮乏的危机，同时我们还面临着水污染的难题。大家行动起来，共同保护我们的水资源吧！为建设我们的绿色家园而努力吧！

树是人们精神寄托，也是人生的象征，有人把生命比做一棵树，但是人们并没有像爱护自己的生命那样去爱护树和森林。人们只看中了它的实用价值，任意砍伐，开山毁林，树木变金钱；人们没有看到因为有了树，才会有充满生机的大自然；有了树，才会有清新的空气。可是我们国家由于水土流失，大部分土地被沙化，造成耕地面积日益减少，同时气候也开始也变得十分恶劣，所以我们必须马上植树造林。希望我们大家携起手来，让小树苗茁壮成长，成为一棵棵参天大树，让它们为我们人类造福吧！

为了让我们的生活更美好，让我们的明天不再活在二氧化碳中，我诚心请求这个世界上的每一个人：共创和谐的绿色家园，从我做起，保护大自然、保护环境、维持生态平衡，让我们的家园充满生机！
