Taking away basic aid status and slashing our school budgets is a recipe for

educational disaster in our school. The future lies with our children. They must

that provides high quality education for our children. Cutting funding in

districts like ours will have a negative impact on property values.

什么是幸福？也许在一千个人眼里，幸福有一千种不同的定义。炎热的夏天吃到一口冰淇淋，是幸福；严寒的冬天喝到一杯热气腾腾的茶，是幸福；能尽情地做自己喜欢的事，同样也是幸福。而对我来说，听妈妈的唠叨，是我最大的幸福。

我的妈妈是一个极为唠叨的人，不论大事小事，对的事错的事，她都能拿来说上一番，其肺活量超乎常人之大，但我对她的这个“优点”却极其厌烦。

一天，爸爸告诉我，妈妈明天就要出差了。我听完这个振奋人心的消息后高兴得一蹦三尺高，因为我终于可以过上一段没有妈妈唠叨的清闲日子了。出发前，妈妈又发挥她的“超级舌功”，在我耳畔念起了“紧箍咒”，我好不容易才让她停住了话匣子。晚上睡觉时，我兴奋难眠。

第二天早晨，由于没有了妈妈的唠叨，我睡得很舒服，可当我醒来时，瞧了一下墙壁上的挂钟，才知道上学快要迟到了，我连忙饭也顾不上吃，就急匆匆地提着书包向学校的方向奔去。幸好上课铃声在我冲进教室的同时戛然而止。虽然没迟到，但刚一坐下，肚子就唱起了“交响曲”。

上了一天的课，我疲惫地回到家。一开门，就习惯性地喊：“妈，我回来了，好饿啊！”可屋里冷冷清清的，没有往日唠叨的妈妈，也没有妈妈为我精心准备的点心，我一下子像泄了气的皮球，瘫坐在沙发上，昨天的兴奋早已抛到九霄云外。

晚上，我躺在床上，却怎么也睡不着，脑海里只想着往日的一幕幕：春天上学时，妈妈边唠叨边塞把雨伞给我，结果放学时下起大雨，因为有雨伞，所以没有淋湿；夏天游泳时，妈妈总是在我游完泳以后带着我的滴眼药水，结果有的人得了红眼病，而我却安然无恙；秋天的清晨，出门前妈妈总能及时的出现在我面前，给我披上一件长袖的秋装；冬天晚上，睡觉前总是嘱咐我盖好被子……想着想着，我逐渐明白原来妈妈的唠叨里包含着对我浓浓的爱。

没几天，妈妈出差回来了，又打开了话匣子，但我一点也不觉得厌烦，只是感觉很幸福，很幸福……

The volunteer/A Kind DeedJohn is a very kind and generous boy.He likes to help other people who are in need.One day,his teacher,Miss Lee announced to the lass that there would be a trip to an old folks home.Miss Lee asked for volunteers to help to clean the old folks home.Many of Johns classmates did not want to volunteer.They knew that it would be hard work and tiring cleaning the old folks home.However,John raised his hand immediately.He did not mind the hard work as long as he can help the elderly people.On the day of the trip,John was excited and anxious.When he reached the old folks home,he started cleaning the place.He helped to clean the washrooms,wash the windows and mop the floor.The teachers were amazed at Johns hardworking and positve attitude he had.Johns friends felt bad and followed his fine example and worked hard too.At the end of the day,the teachers praised their remarkable efforts and took them to a fast food restaurant for some refreshments.When John reached home,he was feeling very tired yet his happy for what he had done today.

In school,I work very hard and I rank in the top of my class.Therefore,my classmates would like to ask me some questions about study when they do not ask for teachers.I like helping others.Firstly,when others need help,I want to give them a hand.They come to me,because they trust me.This makes me happy.Secondly,I can get help from others,too.Once you did some favors to them,they are more likely to help you.Finally,helping others is helping myself,too.When I solve problems,I get improvement at the same time.

Is it good for students to do some housework？ Some people think students need not do any housework。 They think the only thing students need do is to study well。 I don’t think so。 It is good for students to do some housework for three reasons。 Firstly， to do some housework can make you independent。 You can’t depend on others all your life。So you should learn to do some housework now。 Secondly， to do some housework can keep you healthy and strong ， some hard housework can be regarded as a kind of physical exercise。 Finally， to do some housework can share your parents’ work 。They must be happy if you say” Have a rest ， and I will do the housework”So I think it is good for students to do some housework。
