Halloweens origins date back to the ancient Celtic festival of Samhain (pronounced sow-in).

The Celts, who lived 2,000 years ago in the area that is now Ireland, the United Kingdom, and northern France, celebrated their new year on November 1. This day marked the end of summer and the harvest and the beginning of the dark, cold winter, a time of year that was often associated with human death. Celts believed that on the night before the new year, the boundary between the worlds of the living and the dead became blurred. On the night of October 31, they celebrated Samhain, when it was believed that the ghosts of the dead returned to earth. 我一进教室，就很开心。我们一吃完早饭，就开始了元旦联欢晚会，董老师准备给我们放动画片，有A、B、C、D这几种选择，董老师用了最常用的办法——统计，来看该放那个动画片，我和我的同桌都选的B，最后，统计结束，选B的同学最多，但薛老师说：“我们先开联欢晚会吧!”我们都同意了!

元旦联欢晚会要开始了，一开始，徐浩 给我们表演了第一个节目——吹葫芦丝，有两首曲子，一首是“荷塘月色”，另外一首是“金孔雀轻轻跳”我听得可入迷了，要是妈妈也给我报一个葫芦丝兴趣班，那该多好啊!

第二个节目是我们班的龚 涵，给我们表演的英文歌——彩虹，虽然很简单，她却唱得很有节奏，很有感情!

接下来，可就不是单人表演了，薛老师给我们放了音乐，有的跳拉丁，有的就跳我们班最火的江南Style。

虽然，元旦联欢晚会很短，但我还是很开心!

Today our class held a bowed out New Year party. The classmates day. Clean the Windows, cut the ribbon of paper, and some blow the balloon, and Mr. Garland. The classroom is clean and dress up beautifully and again.

Party began, the first show is "blow candle," performers cen both solemnly stood in front of, the teacher struck a match and lit on the podium three color small candle, "Benedict -" the final whistle, cen both took a deep breath and stared stare big eyes, lips, a gathering, air roaring toward the little candle, a look again carefully, "yi," the little candle as soon as my head tilt. "Good! Win!!!!" The students cheered...

The second program note "touch". The teacher with a written content and choose good little note box showed everyone, use of musical manner. Activities started, jia-ni zhang was ventriloquism "cat" and "the dog bite wars LouHao touch" is "the child cry," I touched the "Monkey King" make the sky...

Fellowship and crosstalk, dancing and singing at the meeting, is really colorful!

今天我们班举行了辞旧岁迎新年联欢会。同学们高兴得不得了。有的擦玻璃，有的剪彩纸，有的吹气球，还有的扎花环。一下子把教室打扫得干干净净，又打扮得漂漂亮亮。

联欢会开始了，第一个节目是“吹蜡烛”，表演者岑双双一本正经地站在前边，老师划了根火柴点着放在讲台上的三支彩色小蜡烛，“笃——”哨声响过，岑双双深深地吸了一口气，瞪了瞪大眼，双唇一拢，气流呼呼地直向小蜡烛扑去，再仔细一看，“咦，”小蜡烛头一歪就灭了。“好!胜利了!胜利了!”同学们欢呼雀跃……

第二各节目“摸纸条”。老师把装有写上内容又选好的小纸条的盒子拿给大家看，用击鼓传花的方式进行。活动开始了，张佳妮是口技“小猫叫”和“小狗咬仗”楼浩摸到的是“小孩哭”，我摸到的是“孙悟空大闹天空”……

联欢会上还有相声、舞蹈和歌咏节目，真是丰富多彩啊!

Halloween first came to America with early settlers from Celtic areas in Europe,such as Ireland and Scotland.But other American settlers with strict religious beliefs,including the Puritans from England,rejected Halloween.The arrival of many Irish immigrants during the 1800s helped spread Halloweens popularity.

But by the late 1800s,fewer people believed in ancient superstitions of ghosts and witches. Halloween became more a holiday for children to receive treats and dress in costume.
