在湖内侧沿着湖的边缘有一片芦苇，翠绿的芦苇丛中钻出几朵粉红色的荷花来，根根芦苇就像一个个威风凛凛的绿卫士在保护着这些娇艳的荷花。紧挨在芦苇丛的旁边，有一片盛开的荷花。花朵有深粉色的像少女的裙子，有浅粉色的，还有的白中透着黄。有的荷花已经完全开放了，有的开了一半，有的还是花骨朵像个害羞的小姑娘不肯露出脸来。一片一片的荷叶有大有小，像一个个大小不一的盘子，托着那些漂亮的荷花，荷叶下面有几条小鱼来乘凉。嘿!你看，那不远处飞来了一只雪白的鸟，它落在了荷叶上，这只鸟仿佛也是朵漂亮的荷花了。低头一看，有三只野鸭子在水中嬉戏。有两只大的，一只小的，我想它们是一家人吧，小鸭子很调皮，它趁爸爸妈妈不注意时偷偷钻进了水里，不一会，又从不远处探出了小脑袋。一不留神，又没影了，像在跟爸爸妈妈玩捉迷藏，害的爸妈到处找。

一要字数相等，断句一致。除有意空出某字的位置以达到某种效果外，上下联字数必须相同，不多不少。

二要平仄相合，音调和谐。传统习惯是「仄起平落」，即上联末句尾字用仄声，下联末句尾字用平声。

三要词性相对，位置相同。一般称为「虚对虚，实对实」，就是名词对名词，动词对动词，形容词对形容词，数量词对数量词，副词对副词，而且相对的词必须在相同的位置上。

四要内容相关，上下衔接。上下联的含义必须相互衔接，但又不能重覆。

此外，张挂的对联，传统作法还必须直写竖贴，自右而左，由上而下，不能颠倒。

与对联紧密相关的横批，可以说是对联的题目，也是对联的中心。好的横批在对联中可以起到画龙点睛、相互补充的作用。

the city stands on the west bank of the taiwan straight. it is a beautiful place for people to live in. its economy has been developing rapidly in the past ten years. new factories, houses, roads and bridges have been built. more schools and hospitals are available for its people. however, there are still some problems, such as water, air and noise pollution and heavy traffic in rush hours. in my opinion, quanzhou should develop its economy scientifically. i would also think that the growth of its housing construction should be brought under control so that we’ll have a better hometown in future.
