American eating is funny. They eat almost everything with a fork, and it appears that holding a knife in ones right hand longer than a few seconds is considered to be against good table manners.

The system is that if it is absolutely necessary to use a knife, people take the fork in their left hand, and cut off a piece of meat or whatever it is in the normal manner. Then they put the knife down, transfer the fork to their right hand, and only then do they transport the food to their mouth. This is clearly ludicrous(滑稽可笑), but it is considered good manners.

There is no need for foreign visitors to follow the American system and try to eat the salad with only a fork, but if you do use your knife, remerber to save it for the meat course. Even desserts(甜食) (except ice cream) are eaten with a fork if at all possible, and the spoon you see by your dessert is meant to be for coffee (but if you use it for your dessert no one will say anything).

走进颐和园大门，来到万寿山脚下抬头看，万寿山就像一只巨大的蝙蝠。走到山顶，我们看见了小布达拉宫，它是那么美丽。导游说：“屋顶上金灿灿的黄色，代表皇权;屋檐下的碧绿色，代表草民。”墙壁全部刷成了暗红色，听说古代只有皇帝才能用这富贵的红色。走进大殿只见里面有三个菩萨，他们双手合十面向我们，身上金碧辉煌。

走出殿外，我们看到了一座高高的宝塔，底座是用价值连城的汉白玉砌成的，墙壁上镶嵌着一千零一十个唐僧像。表情各不相同，栩栩如生，其中有两个头被割掉了，真可惜啊!我们下到半山腰看到了三个字“书画游”，是乾隆皇帝亲笔题写的，显得苍劲有力!环顾四周，亭台、楼阁、假山、花、草、树木，美不胜收，真像在画中游。站在平台上，远看昆明湖，只见整个湖都结了冰，成波浪状，静止不动，神奇极了!

I like this national activity, it makes me know a lot of knowledge, and it has brought me a lot of joy.

国庆长假的第二天，虽然细雨绵绵，我要和爸爸妈妈去参观大足石刻。

爸爸告诉我：这是重庆非常著名的世界文化遗产，也是许多外地游客来重庆非去不可的经典。这么有名的大足石刻，我居然没有去过!我一下子就来了兴致，上网查了查。

原来，很早以前，古印度的石窟艺术，翻越苍山大漠、经西域传入了中国，产生许多伟大的石窟作品，创造出来云冈、龙门、麦积山、大足这些伟大的石窟作品。其中，大足石刻是石窟艺术的顶峰。代表了石窟艺术最高的水平和境界。

经过一个半小时的长途汽车旅程，终于到了大足石刻景区。首先我们参观了大足石刻博物馆。这里展览了从印度到阿富汗，从新疆到大足的许多精美的石窟艺术作品。特别吸引我的是，博物馆里循环播放的“千手观音”的修缮的小电影。千手观音从我出生那年便开始维修，整整修了八年。在金光闪闪的千手观音身后，我看到了工程师们的辛劳和千手观音焕然一新的风貌。

虽然大雨倾盆，仍然不能阻止我们前进的步伐。我们从博物馆来到宝顶山。大足石刻修建于重庆大足区宝顶山山谷两边的悬崖上。千万不要以为“大足”是“大脚”的意思，古人在大足修建石刻，也代表了他们“大丰大足、丰衣足食”的美好愿望。每一个传神的石刻作品背后都是一个真实的人物和故事。其中，“卧佛”给我留下了很深的印象。之所以卧佛只有半个身子，是为了让我们有无限的想像空间，仿佛他的手可以伸出整个重庆，他的脚可以伸到宇宙的任何一个角落。

遗憾的是，过完国庆节，卧佛就要开始维修了，或许要八年以后才能一睹芳容。保护文物可真不容易!

New Year is the most grand festival for the Chinese nation, on this day, no matter how far apart, people all want to go back to home, with parents, family reunion. In the heart of every Chinese, Spring Festival has the extremely important status.

The Spring Festival is my favorite holiday, because on this day, I can eat a lot of delicious food, also can get lucky money, more importantly, on this day, we are a large family to gather together together, recounting and wishing each other. Every year the Spring Festival, mother always do a big table, lets eat. After dinner, mom will pack a big red packets to me, I wish my next year to study progress, healthy growth.

The highlight of the Spring Festival is a family reunion dinner, put on the eve of the, because we do have, every time, I always eat very enjoyable. Finished eating dinner, we will watch Spring Festival gala on TV, hereinafter referred to as "gala", in the spring night, each hero qi, off stage, singing away, altogether celebrates the New Year. Blessing of our motherland, our national prosperity, endless.

新年是中华民族最盛大的节日，在这一天，无论相隔多远，人们都要回到家乡，与父母、亲人团圆。在每一个中国人的心中，春节有着极其重大的地位。

春节也是我最喜爱的节日，因为在这一天，我可以吃到很多美味的饭菜，还能拿到压岁钱，更重要的是，在这一天，我们这一大家子人能够相聚在一起，相互诉说着思念与祝福。每年春节，妈妈总会做一大桌子好菜，让我们吃个痛快。饭后，妈妈还会包一个大大的红包给我，祝愿我来年学习进步，健康成长。

春节的重头戏是年夜饭，年夜放上，因有尽有，每次，我总会吃的十分过瘾。吃完了饭，我们会在电视上看春节联欢晚会，简称“春晚”，春晚上，各路英雄齐上阵，台上台下，欢歌笑语，共庆新春。祝福我们的祖国，祝福我们的民族繁荣昌盛，生生不息。

春节，真是我最喜欢的节日!

在中国文化悠久的长河中，闪烁着一颗明亮的珍珠，那就是口中所说的“不到长城非好汉”的长城。

长城，又称万里长城，它是中国历史上第一军事防御工程，是一道高大坚固而连绵不断的长恒，用来抵挡骑兵行动。

长城的建筑历史可追溯到几十年前的西周，一直到离现代不远的清朝时候。各朝代皇帝都曾下令修筑长城，在春秋战国时期进入第一个高潮，一直到秦国统一天下，秦始皇动用了全国二十分之一的人口来修筑长城。

说是万里长城，一点也不夸张。长城总长度达21196.8千米，它像一条蜿蜒的巨龙，时而出现，时而隐蔽，时而完整，时而破碎。它分布在北京、内蒙古、辽宁等15个省市自治区。

长城可以说是中国建筑艺术和中国古代遗产的瑰宝。在1961年3月4日，长城被国务院公布为第一批全国重点文物保护单位，1987年12月被列入世界文化遗产，还被誉为世界中古七大奇迹之一。

“北国风光，十里冰封，万里雪飘。望长城内外，惟余莽莽;大河上下，顿失淘淘。”在中国著名领袖主席的笔下，长城的气势磅礴与长城壮观的雪景在笔下活灵活现。

长城是闻名中外的世界遗产，我们应该爱护它，守护它。
