民俗文化(Folk Cultures)

A folk culture is a small isolated, cohesive, conservative, nearly self-sufficient group that is homogeneous in custom and race with a strong family or clan structure and highly developed rituals. Order is maintained through sanctions based in the religion or family and interpersonal. Relationships are strong. Tradition is paramount, and change comes infrequently and slowly. There is relatively little division of labor into specialized duties. Rather, each person is expected to perform a great variety of tasks, though duties may differ between the sexes. Most goods are handmade and subsistence economy prevails. Individualism is weakly developed in folk cultures as are social classes. Unaltered folk cultures no longer exist in industrialized countries such as the United States and Canada. Perhaps the nearest modern equivalent in Anglo America is the Amish, a German American farming sect that largely renounces the products and labor saving devices of the industrial age. In Amish areas, horse drawn buggies still serve as a local transportation device and the faithful are not permitted to own automobiles. The Amish＇s central religious concept of Demut "humility", clearly reflects the weakness of individualism and social class so typical of folk cultures and there is a corresponding strength of Amish group identity. Rarely do the Amish marry outside their sect. The religion, a variety of the Mennonite faith, provides the principal mechanism for maintaining order.

By contrast a popular culture is a large heterogeneous group often highly individualistic and a pronounced many specialized professions. Secular institutions of control such as the police and army take the place of religion and family in maintaining order, and a money-based economy prevails. Because of these contrasts, "popular" may be viewed as clearly different from "folk". The popular is replacing the folk in industrialized countries and in many developing nations. Folk-made objects give way to their popular equivalent, usually because the popular item is more quickly or cheaply produced, is easier or time saving to use or leads more prestige to the owner.

am writing to apply for acceptance into your Ph.D. graduate program.

Education background

In 1995, I entered the Nanjing University of Science & Technology

(NUST) -- widely considered one of the China’s best engineering schools. During

the following undergraduate study, my academic records kept distinguished among

the whole department. I was granted First Class Prize every semester,In 1999, I

got the privilege to enter the graduate program waived of the admission

test.

At the period of my graduate study, my overall GPA(3.77/4.0) ranked top 5%

in the department. In the second semester, I became teacher assistant that is

given to talented and matured students only. This year, I won the Acer

Scholarship as the one and only candidate in my department, which is the

ultimate accolade for distinguished students endowed by my university.

Presently, I am preparing my graduation thesis and trying for the honor of

Excellent Graduation Thesis.

Research experience and academic activity

When a sophomore, I joined the Association of AI Enthusiast and began to

narrow down my interest for my future research. With the tool of OpenGL and

Matlab, I designed a simulation program for transportation scheduling system. It

is now widely used by different research groups in NUST. I assumed and fulfilled

a sewage analysis & dispose project for Nanjing sewage treatment plant. This

was my first practice to convert a laboratory idea to a commercial product.

In retrospect, I find myself standing on a solid basis in both theory and

experience, which has prepared me for the Ph.D. program. My future research

interests include: Network Scheduling Problem, Heuristic Algorithm research

(especially in GA and Neural network), Supply chain network research, Hybrid

system performance analysis with Petri nets and Data Mining.

有一件事使我对京剧更是不能忘怀。有一天，池艺敏突然兴奋地对我说：“王红瑶，宋老师让我们去三楼多媒体室。”“干什么？”我一脸迷惑。“去了你就知道了。”池艺敏李玉娇神秘地说。于是，我怀着奇怪的心情到三楼多媒体室想探个究竟。原来我们几个有幸被选上到县上参加文艺汇演，我们演唱的就是京剧《都有一颗洪亮的心》我们几个在宋老师的带领下，去更深地了解京剧这门独特艺术。音乐宋老师走到前面，笑容满面地对我们说：“今天，我和同学们将一起认识、了解‘京剧’这门艺术精髓。下面，我先给大家唱一段。”哟，老师还会唱戏，这可挺新鲜的，我还以为只有京剧演员才会唱戏呢。同学们都鼓起掌来，怀着激动的心情期盼着老师开口。这时，大屏幕上出现了一位凤冠霞帔、细眉柳腰的京剧演员。这是老师从网上下载的视频，是为老师伴奏的。突然，京剧演员舞起来，一段段美妙的戏词从老师嘴里飘了出来，时快时慢，细尖又不乏柔美，像一阵春风，吹进我们的心田。真不敢相信这段戏是老师唱的。再看那位京剧演员，身段婀娜，莲花小步，不时挥动她那美丽的“水袖”。而我们几个，眼睛早已看直了；心却飞到了舞台上，随声附和着和老师一同唱着、演着。一曲末了，掌声喷泻而出。宋老师听了掌声，高兴地说：“谢谢大家。你们知道吗？看戏时，大家不仅仅要鼓掌表示赞美，还要叫‘好’。叫‘好’时声音要大，还要有‘儿’的尾音，这样就读成‘haor’明白了吗？”“明白了！”答应声大得刺耳。叫“好”？我回想起电视上看戏时，演到精彩段时，确实都要叫“好”，没想到平时觉得乏味的京剧还有这样的独特之处！老师说要教我们一段京剧《都有一颗洪亮的心》。这时，宋老师用铿锵的高音唱起了这段京剧：“奶奶，你听我说……”宋老师又一句句教我们唱。最后，我们一起站起来跟着屏幕上唱：“虽说是，虽说是亲眷又不相认,可他比亲眷还……”还一边做着动作，仿佛自己真的是戏剧里的人物，激发我再次对京剧艺术的自豪之情和热爱之情，宏扬中国传统艺术！

这堂课完美地结束了。我们恋恋不舍地回到了班里，嘴里还念着“奶奶，……”这堂课，我感受到了京剧独一无二的魅力，我了解了京剧，原来它具有如此有魅力！曾有一个外国人说过一句话：“中国如果没有京剧，也就不成其为中国了。”总之，京剧艺术极富魅力，只要细细鉴赏，就能发现无穷无尽的妙处来。我会继续看京剧、唱京剧的，并希望越来越多的青少年朋友理解京剧，喜爱京剧。

大家都知道，厦门是一座美丽的海滨城市，她的美在于环保，在于……更在于这里的夜景。

这天晚上，一轮明月悬挂在空中，我们乘船来到一个古老、热闹的岛屿，它就是艺术的摇篮——鼓浪屿。

Their family is poor that they even do not have more money after they finish all their meals.but my mother was so so interested in studying. 北京故宫是清明两代的皇家宫殿，旧称紫禁城，位于北京中轴线的中心，是历代宫殿建筑的集大成者。北京故宫于明成祖永乐四年(1406年)开始建设，到永乐十八年(1420年)建成。

明朝是中国历史上最强大的王朝，并不是唐朝，那时候的中国思想文化冠绝全球、军事实力雄踞世界、文化输出国立彰显无与伦比、国威强盛百战百胜、科技水平领先世界。

中国饮食文化，由于特定的经济结构，思维方式与文化环境，形成了自身鲜明的特点，主要表现在下面六个方面。

选料，是中国厨师的首要技艺，是做好一品中国好菜肴美食的基础，要具备丰富的知识和熟练运用的技巧，每种菜肴美食所取的原料，包括主料，配料、辅料、调料等，都有很多讲究和一定之规，概而言之，则是“精”、“细”二字，孔子所说的“食不厌精，脍不厌细”也。所谓“精”，指所选取的原料，要考虑其品种、产地、季节、生长期等特点，以新鲜肥嫩、质料优良为佳。

刀功，即厨师对原料进行刀法处理，是成为烹调师需要的，整齐一致的形态，以适应火候，受热均匀，使于入味，并保持一定的形态美，因而是烹调技术的关键之一。我国早在古代就重视刀法的运用，经过历代厨师的反复实践创造了丰富的刀法，如直刀法，片刀法，斜刀法，剞刀法和雕刻刀法等，把原料加工成各种各样的形态和各种各样的花色，还可以镂空成美丽的图案花纹，雕刻成“喜”、“寿”、“福”、“禄”字样，增添喜庆筵席的欢乐气氛。特别是刀技和拼摆手法相结合，把熟料和可食生料拼成艺术性强，形象逼真的鸟、兽、虫、鱼、花、草等花式拼盘，如“龙凤呈祥”、“孔雀开屏”等。

火候，是形成菜肴美食的风味特色的关键之一，但火候瞬息万变，没有多年操作实践经验很难做到恰好处，因而掌握火候是中国厨师的一门绝技。中国厨师能精确鉴别旺火、中火、微火等不同火力，熟悉了解各种原料的耐热程度，熟悉控制用火时间，善于掌控传热物体的性能，还能根据原料的老嫩程度，水分多少，形态大小，整碎厚薄等，确定下锅次序，加以灵活运用；使烹制出的菜肴，要嫩就嫩，要酥就酥，要烂就烂。

烹调技法，是我国厨师的又一门绝技。常用的技法有：炒、爆、炸、烹、溜、煎、贴、烩、扒、烧、炖、焖、氽、煮、酱、卤、蒸、烤、炝、拌、熏、以及甜品的拔丝、蜜汁、挂霖等。

调料，也是烹调的百味香。

我们只有准确把握了这六方面，才能深刻地理解中华饮食文化，因则才能更好地继承和弘扬中华饮食文化。

中国历史的长河像一本本文字斑驳的古书叠摞着，一直地、不停地在蜿蜒前进，我愿化作一叶扁舟，泛舟于这壮阔的长河中。

第一站：饮食

民以食为天。《舌尖上的中国》红遍大江南北，在吃的方面上，中国人一向是最讲究的。它四季有别，风味多样，不仅讲究美感，也要注重情趣。更有甚者食医结合，以求强身健体。唐宋时期“素蒸声音部，罔川图小样”的烧尾宴，到明清的满汉全席，无不显现了当时饮食的最高水平。时至今日，各式各样的糕点，琳琅满目的菜系被摆上中国人的饭桌，历经时间的沉淀，风味不减，风韵犹存，刺激着人们的味蕾。

再说茶文化，那更是博大精深。它与丝绸一同传到西域乃至欧洲，成为传统文化中独具特色的一面旗帜。中国人喝茶讲究一个“品”字。品的不仅是茶的优劣，也是悠然情趣与人生百态。

第二站：礼仪

从中国古代董仲舒“罢黜百家，独尊儒术”开始，儒家成为中国最有影响力的学派之一。丝毫不夸张地说，中国人骨子里的责任思想、忠孝思想、恕的思想、伦理道德观念都是儒家学说渗透的结果。

古有孔融让梨、王祥孝母，今有背母上课的陈斌强，拾荒助学老人刘盛兰，他们身上的正能量如雨丝一点点地浸润这个社会，温暖一个个路人的心。知书达礼是每一个中国人出门在外的名片。中国外交部更是竭诚相待，遵循和平共处五项原则，情礼兼到，这般深厚的礼仪让中国坐实了礼仪之邦的称号。

第三站：科技

游到此处，不禁动情。在今年的3月10号0时28分，我国长征火箭成功将“中星6C”卫星发射升空，再创纪录！这支火箭凝聚了科学家的心血，承载着中国人满心的欣喜，见证着中国科技发展以来的一个个里程碑。

1953~1957年间的“一五计划”，1964年成功爆炸了中国第一枚原子弹，2003年载人火箭成功升空……中国由落后的农业大国开始一步一个脚印，心如磐石，面对西方国家早已发展的如日中天的压力，承载着人民的希翼，中国这只沉睡的雄狮终于如拿破仑所说的“当它醒来时，全世界将为之震动”般实现了如虎添翼。

这一切一切，离不开每一个国人与科研者的努力。正是中国人的众志成城，中国如今的前途不可限量！这种对祖国的甘于奉献的精神，无非是源于对祖国的信心，因为他们所许的每一个承诺会在今后一一实现，即使会迟到，也不会缺席。

第四站：终站亦为新的序幕

十八大以来，习主席在多个场合谈到中国传统文化，提倡文化自信。只有坚持从历史走向未来，从延续民族文化血脉中开拓前进，我们才能做好今天乃至以后的事业。

从过去的“出国潮”到今天的“海归热”，越来越多的青年追随着文化与内心的牵绊回到祖国。文化无论从何时何地来说，它是个羁绊，一个人与人的联系；它还是一个媒介，一个连通过去现在未来的三通媒介。身为一个中国人，勿忘文化传统，传承文化自信是对古人的尊敬，对历史的崇仰，对未来的基石。

我们于这漫漫历史长河不过是不起眼的小水花与细石，但正是由于我们，河会从我们身上缓缓流淌过，流向无限延伸的远方。我愿来世再化作撑舟人，在河心悠悠地驶过，与天地畅谈这源远流长的中国文化。

其中我比较喜欢的是舞龙，最喜欢的是贴对联。因为每到过新年都会有贴对联，敲锣打鼓，张灯结彩，送旧迎新的活动，热闹极了。这时每个人的脸上都洋溢着喜悦。但是你知道吗？过年里有着一个美妙的神话故事，现在让我来讲给你们听听吧。

传说中，在一个僻静的山谷里，住着一个叫年的怪兽，每到新年的晚上，怪兽就会去袭击山角下的一个小村庄，村里的人知道会来怪兽把门锁的紧紧的，可是不管怎么样年还是会进来偷吃村民的东西。伤害人畜；大家害怕极了，但是又无能为力。

第二年的大清早，人们就纷纷地收好东西准备去城里过完年才回来，这时一位仙翁走过来告诉人们说：“怪兽害怕红色和响声有。”就这样人们听了以后就回到村里买了对联贴在门上；到了晚上年又来了，它一看到红色就开始害怕了，人们见到有效果又敲起了锣鼓。这时年更害怕了吓得连忙就跑了。

There are several reasons.

4. 介绍你的家乡(about hometown)

I am from *****, a famous city with a long history over 2,200 years. It is called “Rong Cheng ” because there were lots of banians even 900 years ago. The city lies in the eastern part of the province. It is the center of politics, economy and culture. Many celebrities were born here, for instance, Yanfu, Xie Bingxin, Lin Zexu and so on . . You know, there is a saying that "The greatness of a man lends a glory to a place". I think the city really deserves it. The top three art ware are Shoushan Stone, cattle-horn combs and bodiless lacquer ware. In addition, it is famous for the hot springs. They’re known for high-quality. Visitors at home and abroad feel it comfortable bathing here. There is my beloved hometown.

There are four members in my family; my parents, my cute cat of 9 years old and me. My father is a technician in the Fujian TV station. He often goes out on business. So most of the housework is done by my industrious mom. Climbing at weekends is our common interest. The fresh air and natural beauty can help us get rid of tiredness. They can strengthen our relation, too. During my preparing for coming here, my parents’ love and support have always been my power. and I hope in future I will be able to repay them.

暗许，几个月后变成婚了，好景不长，战国六年，她丈夫被强行带走，孟姜女生怕丈夫吃不好，便日日去给丈夫送饭。今日后，她丈夫被崩塌的长墙压死了，孟姜女日日来长城边上哭泣，为丈夫守灵。
