有两则关于同一条英语谚语Blood is thicker than water的译例。其一是“清水不浓血却浓”，其二是“血浓于水”。从字面上看，上述两则译例译得固然不错，似无可厚非。译文读起来很顺，又比较易懂，但读后似有不知所云之感。

这是因为译文的形象没能准确地传达出这条谚语的喻义来。

Longman Dictionary of English Idioms（p.28）上对这条谚语的解释是“The relationship between people of the same family is stronger than other，relationships”因此，这则谚语似可以借用汉语中一句俗语“亲不亲一家人”来译更能表达出“属于同一血缘关系的一家人比别人更亲近一些”的寓意。

语言是文化的表现形式。谚语同文学作品、诗歌一样是语言的精华。英语谚语是富于色彩的语言形式，一般具有生动形象、喻义明显、富于哲理的语言特征。在一定程度上，英语谚语反映了英语民族的文化特点。因此，翻译英语谚语时，仅仅以语言之间词汇的同义性（等价性）为前提，寻求对等的表现是不够的。译者须较多运用汉语的表现手段，力求能再现英语谚语的语言风格和丰富内涵。只有多注意英语谚语字面以外所特有的语言内涵色彩，才能使译文讽喻得当，宜于说理，又不失原来谚语所具有的语言形象。

某些英语谚语和汉语成语、俗语在表现形式和含义方面是一致的或基本一致的。汉译这些英语时，可惜用与其喻义相同或相近的成语或谚语及俗语直接对译。这样不但可以比较好地保持原文的神韵和形式，又使译文易于为读者或听者接受。如：

有些英语谚语意在言外，语言含蓄，寓意深刻。如果仅从字面意义直译成汉语，而不领会原文的具体含义及其效果，译文势必平淡无味。这样既不能表达意思，又有损于原文的语言形象和丰富内涵。因此，在翻译时，应在汉语中寻找那些与原文喻义相同或效果相似的成语、谚语或俗语来表达，则会使译文形象生动，准确达意。试比较下列各译例。

People who live in glass houses should not throw stones.如译成“住在玻璃房子里的人，不应扔石头”不如译成“己有过，勿正人”或“责人必先责己”。

In fair weather prepare for the foul．如译成“晴天要防阴天”，不如译成“有备无患”或“居安思危”或“未雨绸缪”。

Fools rush in where angels fear to tread．如译成“愚者敢闯天使不敢去的地方”，不如译成“初生牛犊不怕虎”。

One cannot make an omelette without breaking eggs.如译成“想吃煎蛋卷，就得打鸡蛋”，不如译成工“有得必有失”或甚至可以引申为“不破不立”。

如果所要翻译的谚语喻义清新，形象逼真，按其字面直译其意，就能表达出原文的喻义来，则可直译。这样做既能较完整地保存原文的表达方式，且又可丰富我们自己的语言文化，一举两得，请看下面的译例。

有些英语谚语常常采用对称的修辞手段。使用这一修辞手段的目的在于加强语势，宜于说理，读后有心悦诚眼之感。汉译这些谚语时，应适当注意保持其修辞色彩，以便体现原文的表达方式。如：

You may take a horse to the water， but you can’t make it drink．

如果按字面译成，“你可以把马牵到河边去，但不能叫它饮水”至少是没有充分体现这句谚语本身所具有的强烈对比色彩。从语法分析的观点看，在这个句子里，情态动词may和can虽然都表示“可能”的，但在含义上有所不同。这里may表示“事实上的可能性”，而can则表示“逻辑上的可能性”。并列连词but使前后两个分句意义相反，对比色彩强烈。在这种情况下，译文也必须力求对偶整齐，前后呼应，形成对照。如将此句译作“牵马河边易，逼它饮水难”或“老牛不喝水，不能强按头”会更好些。

总之，即使像谚语这样孤立的语句，翻译时也需尽一番揣摩切磋之功，否则译文就可能与原文“貌合神离”，文不达意。译事艰辛也许正在于此。

The spring Festival  coming soon! The festivel  considereded the most important one for Chinese people. It  on the first day of lunar year. It  also the day of reunion among family members. During these days, people would say "happy new year! or wh you make fortune! to each other. They would also vit their relatives and friends. Children would be given "red packets". Children would have more to eat and play than usual.Playing firecrackers  also a popular game for children.

In the three days trip in Shenzhen， I was interested in the central and southern part of the city， which are the heavens for most visitors。

现象一：又到了批改的时候了，笔者的办公桌上堆着学生的习作。说实在，每次改作文的时候都没有好心情。因为笔者任教的是小学五年级，可学生的习作有一半以上还停留在二三年级的水平，潦潦草草的就几句话，让人看了都心寒。

现象二：笔者任教语文学科已有8年之久，应该说在作文教学这一块也积累了一些经验，可是把前几届相对成功的经验，运用在现阶段的学生身上，并没有达到笔者理想中的效果，一时茫然不知所措。

现象三：上级部门征文比赛通知一下发到学校，大部分老师都有深切的同感，征文比赛比的根本不是学生，因为以学生名以参赛的征文绝大部分都是由老师代写得，反过来是否可以就此证明学生实际的习作水平并不是很高呢

现象四：曾经一次有商人在校门口商店推销50元一套的《作文一本通》，笔者提醒规劝学生不要前去购买，提倡学生前去购买《四大名著》，最终的情况却令笔者的心情非常的沮丧，全班学生共有二十多人前去购买了《作文一本通》，没有人愿意购买《四大名著》。

到底该如何提高学生的习作水平呢这已经是一个相对古老的话题了，笔者查阅了《小学语文教学法》中有关于永正等元老关于作文教学方法的论述，只感觉随着时代环境的变迁这些元老的方法用在时下，不能发挥切实有效可行的作用。

同时，纵然网络上以及各类期刊中关于作文教学的观点满天飞，关于作文教学的课题研究也数不胜数，同行们似乎对作文教学的见解一日比一日深刻，可一旦具体到课堂教学实践时，具体到辅导身边的学生时，却总感觉那么多正确的观点，竟然没几个能用的上，还是感觉作文教学的方式方法和手段太少，学生总是"笨"得难以启发。

In 2003, I got the highest score in the College Entrance Examinations in my city and entered Zhongshan University. My major is Computer Science. My GPA ranks in the top 40% among all students, but I have stronger C programming skills than many others. Also, I was the first one to learn Java in my class.

I was chosen by a teacher of mine to participate in his project. The project was about a LAN chat room, and I developed the instant messaging system in it. I was the only female student in this project team.

Besides study and the project, I worked in the Student Union for two years, first year as a member, next year promoted to be the General Secretary. My colleagues describe me as a reliable and considerate person.

寒假里，我们一家人来到安吉杭州Hello Kitty 乐园游玩。一大早我们就来到售票处排队买票。大屏幕里播放着当天的票价：节假日成人票290元，儿童票180元。我发现节假日的票价比平时的票价要贵一些;别的景点儿童票是成人票的一半，而这里的儿童票比成人票的半价要贵挺多的。是不是他们和我一样粗心算错了?我正想着，妈妈叫我算算，我们一家三口要付多少钱呢?啊!我们只教了100以内的加减法，200多的我可不会加!我把小脸一撇不耐烦的说。妈妈告诉我：可以把290这个三位数去掉0看成29一个二位数来算，最后答案再加个零升位就可以了，你试试。29+29=58,58+18=76,760元。我小心翼翼的说着我的算式。这时妈妈的也被扣掉了760元。看来我算对了。

走进乐园，里面的建筑真漂亮啊!有城堡，有喷水池，有舞台，还有好多好多的游玩设施。我玩了苹果树飞船就迫不及待地跑去远古石船，只见那船上下摇摆还会转圈，刺激极了。但是排队的人很多，队伍在慢慢地往前挪，快到我们了，爸爸妈妈在讨论还要多久才能坐上船。我突然想到了一种比较准确的方法来估算：我先观察了石船，石船上有6排位置，每一排能坐4人，四六二十四，24个位置。再数数我们前面大概有几个24，就知道我们第几批能坐上去了。我告诉爸爸妈妈：大概我们第二批就能坐上去了，因为我们前面大概只有30个人了。

玩好了石船，我还玩了旋转木马，魔法单车等等，我都用学过的数学知识估计等待的时间，嘿!嘿!还都比较准确的哦。

生活中数学问题真是无处不在啊!

爸爸的吃苦耐劳，妈妈的勤劳善良。他们对我无微不至的关爱，让我真真切切体味了家的温暖，我生活得很快乐。

爸爸是个小生意人，妈妈除料理家务外，还帮着爸爸做生意。不知从什么时候开始，爸爸变得游手好闲，用辛辛苦苦挣来的钱去赌博。越赌越大，赌掉了家中的全部财产，生意也无法经营了。以酒烧愁，酒后打骂妈妈，妈妈受不了他的赌、喝、打和骂，整天与爸爸无休止的大吵大骂，妈妈已无法忍受这样的生活，提出与爸爸离婚。

内心那原本宁静的港湾刹那间无影无踪了。本来是一名热情开朗、活泼机灵，积极向上的我，变成了课堂上常常走神、迟到、请假，不与人交流，脾气暴躁，连走路都低着头，总爱把自己埋进小说里，逃避现实，自暴自弃，心里充满了对爸爸的怨恨。

一段时间，我觉得孤独的滋味确实不好受，这样下去，担心功课会跟不上。于是，我向班主任程老师求助，我告诉老师：“我的父母要离婚。上次请假，我去法院，问我想跟谁。他们在法院上还是吵。”说着我的眼泪流了出来。

“今天你能跟老师敞开心扉，我很高兴。你家庭的情况我也了解到了，也观察到你的表现，总觉得你阳光开朗，能够自己把这个事情解决好。”

“因为你的父母既然走到这一步，那肯定有他们不得已的苦衷，这种局面是你难以改变的。所以你应该调整好心态。既然你失去了一个完整的家，但你仍然拥有他们的爱，而是这份爱会因对你的伤害，变得更深厚。这只是你人生中的一个小挫折，老师相信你一定能振作起来，战胜它。”

“老师，其实我很想振作起来，但总也挥之不掉那些阴影，我很苦恼，我孤独无依。”说完，程老师就像妈妈一样怜悯地把我拥入怀中。

“一个人要有正确的人生理想，要有挫而不折的精神，要学会自我调节和寻求帮助。”

“我们要用这些解决现实生活中的问题。实际上你已经运用了其中的一些，你知道吗？”

我沉思着：“哦，爸爸的不思悔改，妈妈无法原谅，我也改变不了他们，只能接受这样的现实。老师，谢谢您。”

It is known to all that today the environment has been badly polluted.

Though many action have been taken to protect our environment, it still has a

long way to go. Two years ago, I went to middle school, and the first moment I

saw the environment, I found that trees were very small, and many workers were

busy planting trees. Now, when I looked around our school, the trees were taller

than people and they grew so fast. People always talk about planting trees but

less of them can take action. If they plant trees immediately, then there would

be more green scenery. Protecting the environment is not just words. We should

take action right now.

Dear Christmas father:

Christmas Day falls on the twenty-fifth of December.It is a very happy day

for many boys and girls .Before the term ends in some schools ,the children act

a nativity or “birth” play,showing how Jesus was born in a stable.

On the twenty-fourth of December,all children are very excited.Usually they

are sent to bed early so that their parents can get the presents ready.The

younger children think that Father Christmas will come down the chimney or

fireplace ,so they hang up a sock for him to put presents in.The greedy ones

even hang up a pillow-case or a sack to try to get more presents.Later that

night,Father or Mother will put presents in the sock,and leave others at the

side of the bed.

On Christmas morning,the children wake up very early.Some even turn on the

light at two oclock,and most of them are awake by six oclock although it is

not light in England for another hour or two at this time of the year.Children

look for their presents,and the young ones play while the dinner is prepared.At

about one oclock in the afternoon,the Christmas dinner is brought in.The turkey

or chicken is quickly eaten.Children search in their Christmas pudding for new

coins which are hidden in it.The rest of the day is full of games and eating

until the happiest of all Christmas hollidays comes to an end.
