近些年来，我们中国环境污染十分严重，我国的污水排放到湖中，江河、大海，成群的鱼虾死亡。人们滥伐树木，把片片绿洲变成了一片片沙漠，许多化学放射尘也使人们的身体健康受到了十分十分大的危害。而且，我国有些地方的臭氧层，也因为各种气体的侵害而变得十分稀薄。

在世界各地也因为人们过度砍伐森林，过度猎杀动物，使原有的生态平衡被打破，生态也受到了十分严重的打击。比如说“象牙海滩”，它地处热带西欧，高温多雨，有大片原始森林，适合大象生殖繁衍。随着欧洲殖民主义者入侵，成群结队的大象成了人们捕猎谋财的对象。象牙买卖在这片海岸上也日益兴旺，“象牙海滩”因此得名。

世界上各大洲都有类似之事，所以，全世界的大象都已经到了灭绝的边缘。是啊！原来品种繁多，分布广泛的大象现在却只剩下两个品种而已，只分布于两个洲；非洲只有非洲象，亚洲也只有亚洲象了。受人类灭绝的动物很多，渡渡鸟、袋狼等等。

From the second picture， we can find some reasons.Why is the number of animal species declining year by year?
