The 9th day of the 9th lunar month is the traditional Chongyang Festival, or Double Ninth Festival. It usually falls in October in the Gregorian calendar. In an ancient and mysterious book Yi Jing, or The Book of Changes, number 6 was thought to be of Yin character, meaning feminine or negative, while number 9 was thought to be Yang, meaning masculine or positive. So the number nine in both month and day create the Double Ninth Festival, or Chongyang Festival. Chong in Chinese means double. Also, as double ninth was pronounced the same as the word to signify forever, both are Jiu Jiu, the Chinese ancestors considered it an auspicious day worth celebration. That‘s why ancient Chinese began to celebrate this festival long time ago.

The custom of ascending a height to avoid epidemics was passed down from long time ago. Therefore, the Double Ninth Festival is also called Height Ascending Festival. The height people will reach is usually a mountain or a tower. Ancient literary figures have left many poems depicting the activity. Even today, people still swarm to famous or little known mountains on this day.

On this day, people will eat Double Ninth Gao (or Cake). In Chinese, gao (cake) has the same pronunciation with gao (height). People do so just to hope progress in everything they are engaged in. There is no fixed ways for the Double Ninth Cake, but super cakes will have as many as nine layers, looking like a tower.

The Double Ninth Festival is also a time when chrysanthemum blooms. China boasts diversified species of chrysanthemum and people have loved them since ancient times. So enjoying the flourishing chrysanthemum also becomes a key activity on this festival. Also, people will drink chrysanthemum wine. Women used to stick such a flower into their hair or hang its branches on windows or doors to avoid evilness.

In 1989, the Chinese government decided the Double Ninth Festival as Seniors‘ Day. Since then, all government units, organizations and streets communities will organize an autumn trip each year for those who have retired from their posts. thanksgiving celebration, honoring the Soil God and the Crop God. This is also a time for family reunions. 吃过午饭过后，稍作休息了一会，我们便向山里走去，来到清明节最重要的戏玉部分，也就是我们常说的清明节拜祀仪式。爸爸认真地告诉我，我们家乡的清明节，一定要到下午才能进行，上午是不可以到山里拜祭，一定要遵循我们当地的这一风俗习惯，因为这样做，才能体现出我们对先辈的尊敬和爱戴。

来到之后，我们便各自忙了起来，我们忙里忙外的，干起活来十分有劲，完全没有半点劳累的意思。爸爸妈在坟墓清理环境，清理着一些大大小小的杂草，让先人们有一个好的环境，更加舒服的享受地下的生活，你让他们感受到我们对他们的尊敬与爱戴。爷爷奶奶就十分认真地摆摆放着拜祭的东西，他们从竹篮子里拿出来了碗和筷子，还有酒杯，这是5个碗，5双筷子，5个酒杯。我见了，便来到爷爷奶奶身边，蹲了下来，在认认真真地帮着他们。我把鱼、肉、豆腐等各种祭品，小心翼翼地放到了碗上，还在酒杯上倒满了酒，等这一切准备完毕之后，就等着爷爷奶奶做接下来的事情。这时，爸爸妈妈也把杂草给清理完了，我们就站在了一旁，看爷爷奶奶如何拜祭先人。我们站在一旁看着，只见爷爷和奶奶提着灯笼，向四面八方遥湃，他们嘴上还忙着唸道：神秘的祖先们齐聚共饮，祝祖先们如意自在，在这之后，爷爷奶奶就把我倒好了的酒，潇洒地挥洒在了坟墓前边，这是在保佑我们这些后人生活顺利，日子平安。最后，爷爷还把一大瓶的酒倒了出来，这是在希望先人祝愿我们的国家福安康，国家昌盛。在行酒之后，我们便烧起了钱纸，点上了香炉和油烛，一起拜祭我们伟大的新人们，以此来纪念他们。在这之后，我们就放了鞭炮，以一种轟烈的方式结束了这次的拜祭活动。

临走之时，爸爸妈妈还检查了坟墓前的烟火情况，认认真真地把这些烟火给扑灭之后，你们才圆满地离开了这里，才开开心心地往家里的方向奔去。

家乡的清明节，真是让我了解到各个地方的风俗习惯，让我清楚地知道了各个地方都有着不同的风俗习惯，这是一种中华民族的优良传统，我们要把这种优良传统给蔓延下去，让中华民族传统一代又一代的留给我们的后人们，使之发扬光大。

我最喜欢的传统节日是春节。

每到春节，爸爸妈妈、爷爷奶奶、叔叔婶婶就各自忙起各自的活儿来。奶奶在厨房烧菜。满屋子都是菜的香味，厨房里还传来滋滋的声音。妈妈在做饭。一打开锅盖，一股香味扑鼻而来。爸爸和两个叔叔一起贴春联。我出去一看，顿时笑了起来，原来，二叔叔把春联贴反了，爸爸和他说了，他却还不承认。爷爷在洗菜，水哗啦哗啦地流着，洗过的菜都干干净净的。

该吃年夜饭了，大家欢聚一堂，都有说有笑的。饭吃好了，我和姐姐还有哥哥一起放鞭炮，有烟花棒、礼炮、五彩风暴，还有好多好多。最后，我们大家一起去商城看舞龙。舞龙看好后，大家依依不舍地离开了。

我和爸爸妈妈回到自己家后，打开了电视机，津津有味地看着春晚，一直看到了第二天凌晨才肯睡觉。

这就是我的春节，让我至今还没忘记。

中国的春节，是要吃年夜饭的。说到年夜饭，大家应该都很熟悉。有的是一对鸳鸯火锅;有的吃吃外面的西餐;有的是到楼下吃外国料理;还有的是去旅游，带着家人们一起到另外一个城市去吃各种各样的美食。大家知道我们家是哪种过法吗?

哈哈!无论你们怎么猜都猜不到!我们家吃法是上面没有举例说明出来的哦!

让我告诉你们吧!我们一共做了六道菜，分别是两条外焦里嫩的香煎黄花鱼、爆炒小黄牛肉、肉炒榛蘑、凉拌银耳、醋溜土豆丝、蒜蓉炒菜心，最重要的还有我们老家的传统——年夜饺子，而且还是荠菜猪肉饺哦，你们肯定没吃过吧，据说，荠菜可是我们老家的特产，哈哈，好吃着呢!

“开饭了，开饭了，”随着妈妈的叫喊声，一道道美味的菜肴端上来餐桌，我蹦蹦跳跳地来到餐桌，爸爸也走过来，全家都走过来坐下：然后爸爸说：“过完今晚，明天就是新的一年了，悠悠，你有没有新年的愿望啊?”

我回答道：“恩，是的。我的新年愿望就是祝愿大家在新的一年里工作顺利，学业进步，每天开开心心的。”全家人都笑了。
