我们的英语老师有一头乌黑亮丽的头发，眼睛大大的，个子不高也不矮，但是整个人却很有精神。她教我们学的第一个词是“ms 刘”，有很多同学都不知道什么意思，老师马上翻译过来跟我们说“这个词的意思是刘女士或是刘老师”。随后英语老师就开始讲述第一节英语课。

她先给我们讲了讲英语单词，但是我听的一头雾水，整节课也是云里雾里的，什么都没听懂。放学后我带着英语课本来到校门口等待妈妈来接我回家，妈妈来到校门口笑着说：“你怎么带着英语课本啊？”“我没有听懂老师讲的英语。”刚说完我的眼泪就在眼眶里打转。

回到家妈妈给我打开录音让我跟着读，可还是没有听懂。然后就着急得趴在桌子上哭了起来。妈妈跟我说：“别着急，等你哥哥放学回来教教你。”话音刚落哥哥便打开门大叫一声：“我回来了！”把我逗得笑了起来。哥哥看我脸上还挂着泪珠，便问我怎么回事，我跟哥哥说了原因之后哥哥跟我说：“没事，走，我教你去！”然后我就跟着哥哥来到我的房间开始教我英语。

哥哥一边开着玩笑一边鼓励并教我学习英语，这让我觉得英语没有那么枯燥无味，使我对它充满了兴趣。经过哥哥的耐心指导让我学会了老师之前所讲的那些内容并且预习了后面一个单元，这使我觉的英语并没有想象中的那么难。

哥哥对我的鼓励，让我信心倍增，从那时起我就更努力地，上课专心的听讲，课后细心的做练习、听录音，所以现在的英语还挺不错的呢。

but it has not always been like that. in the old days, it was a sad dirty little town. landlords and merchants lived in the few good houses. for the working people there were only dark, unhealthy rooms in old buildings and huts in narrow muddy streets. nearly everyone was poor and many had no work.

everything has changed since liberation. the people, led by the party, have got rid of the mud and dirt. they have put up schools, theaters, shops and flats. they have an assembly hall and a hospital. along the river they have built offices, hotels and parks. a lot of factories have sprung up. on the river, streamers and boats come and go busily, day and night. they carry the products of our industries to all parts of the country.

i love my hometown, and i love its people. they also have changed. healthy and happy, they are going all out to build socialism.

我们周围的一切每天都在变化。听爸爸说，以前我的家乡非常非常穷，穷得连饭都没得吃。那时，没有什么交通工具，马路上看到最多的是拖拉机，爸爸上学、放学都要靠步行，走上半个多小时才能到爷爷家。通往学校的那条路面凹凸不平，到处都是泥坑，一到下雨天，坑里到处都积满水，爸爸只能深一脚浅一脚地去上学，往往是到了学校，整只裤脚全部溅湿了。那时，家里面非常简陋，住的还是木制结构的房子，被柴火熏得黑黑的墙壁，踩上去咯吱作响的地板。一到台风天，整个房子像在摇晃，一家人害怕得不得了。家里没有什么像样的电器，只有一些木头家具，烧饭也是用柴灶，还要砍柴，十分麻烦。

如今我们的生活与以前相比已经大变样了。繁华的大城市高楼林立，大街上各种小轿车川流不息，一碰上红灯，那车辆停得像条长龙。宽阔平坦的大街上有五花八门的小商店，各种大型超市里人山人海。现在爷爷的家也是大变样了，以前那矮小的木房子，现在变成了又高又气派的四层小洋房。那脏兮兮的墙壁现在也已经变得又白又亮了。客厅里还有很多崭新的电器和家具：柔软的大沙发，透明坚固的玻璃桌，超大屏幕的电视机正在播放着精彩的电视节目呢!

想想过去，看看现在，我不禁赞叹道：家乡的变化真大呀!从现在起，我要好好学习，掌握科学技术，将来把家乡建设得更加美丽富饶。

我的家乡在湖南的一个小镇，这里风景秀丽，景色宜人，简直是一幅美丽的图画。不说那清清的河水，也不说那金黄的稻田，单是我家门前开满荷花的池塘，就已令人流连忘返。

暑假，我随爷爷回到湖南老家，正是荷花盛开的季节。

清晨，我迫不及待地来到荷花池边，远远望去池面上满眼绿色，荷花也开得正艳，姿态万千，形态各异。有的全都开放了，露出了嫩黄色的小莲蓬，有的才展开两三片花瓣，有的还是花骨朵儿，尖尖的，小小的，粉粉的，就像小桃子一样，看起来快要爆炸似的。看，那满池的荷叶或大或小，有高有矮，高的像一把把大雨伞，矮的像一个个碧绿的大玉盘，密密麻麻地紧挨着。在绿油油的荷叶上，有一颗颗晶莹剔透的露珠。瞧，它们多可爱，就像一个个孩子睡在摇篮里，微风一吹，荷叶摇了摇，像在呼唤着荷叶上酣睡的露珠。忽然，一阵大风吹过，荷叶又摇动着，刚刚醒来的露珠像舞蹈家似的，轻巧地跃到到荷塘里。水面上荡起的一个个圆圈就是它们的优雅舞姿。硕大的荷叶池远远望去，犹如一幅美丽的图画，给山村添上了一道美丽的风景线。

晚上，荷花池里会传来青蛙此起彼伏的“呱呱“声，好像是大合唱，我伴着这优美的歌声进入甜蜜的梦乡。在梦中，我仿佛也变成了一朵荷花，在跳着欢快的舞蹈。

我的家乡位于江西省南昌市，那里风景如画，有许多名胜古迹，其中最引人注目的要数历史悠久的滕王阁了。

滕王阁周围绿树环绕，有许多花草点缀其中。它就像一颗璀璨的明珠把南昌装扮得更加绚丽多彩。滕王阁的颜色十分丰富，红墙绿瓦，还有黄色、蓝色、白色的花纹相互交错，这些花纹像云朵似的，造型十分美观。滕王阁有五十多米高，远远看去，像宝塔似的矗立的赣江边，非常雄伟、壮观。

走进滕王阁，里面有林立了许多又粗又大的红柱子，陈列了许多精美的工艺品，张贴了许多千古绝唱的诗词。这时，我突然想起王之涣的诗“欲穷千里目，更上一层楼。”我爬上了滕王阁的最高层远眺。八一大桥像彩虹似的挂在清澈的赣江上，一辆辆小车就像甲虫似的在桥面上来来往往、川流不息。赣江上的点点小舟像小鱼似的在赣江江面上快活地游来游去。这时候，夕阳西下，王勃诗中的“落霞与孤鹜齐飞，秋水共长天一色。”的美景呈现在眼前，我陶醉了，忘了自己身在何处。我以为自己是美景，直到妈妈叫我，我才知道自己在看美景。

“物华天宝，人杰地灵。”我为家乡有这么美丽的景物而感到骄傲！
