我的家乡——高港，儿十年前的一个默默无闻的江边小镇，正在逐渐变成现代化的都市。那无数从乡间泥泞小路上走来的高港人，用自己的双手改变了高港的历史。那无数条路呵，见证了历史的巨变。

爷爷曾沿着祖祖辈辈踩出来的泥泞的羊肠小道上山下乡。大部分路坑坑洼洼，至于养护，不过是偶尔铲些土铺上。一下雨就没法走路，所以人们都不约而同地选择了雨天休息，晴天劳作。

爸爸那一代，路上铺上了石子，也拓宽了许多，主要是便于拖拉机行驶，被称为“机耕路”。虽然好走多了，但仍不方便，又十分狭窄，经常造成交通堵塞。

现在呀！家乡的路一点也不比大城市逊色。一条条宽阔的水泥路四通八达，再也不像以前那样拥挤了，走在上而是多么平坦、舒畅啊！不管是自行车、摩托车、汽车，都能并排驶过。路两旁的绿化带和独特的风光，让人感到无限惬意，就如同在画中一般，人们坐在车子上，只要看看这景色，一身的疲惫就不翼而飞了。以前上泰州，由于道路不平坦，乘汽车要用两小时才能到达，现在去泰州太方便了，最多只要半小时。宽阔的泰高公路可是国家的一级公路呢！路边的那些平房早就拆掉了，一幢幢高楼大厦如雨后春笋拔地而起，鳞次栉比。=

四横四纵的区内公路两边的商店一家挨着一家，真是数不胜数，有卖水果的、有卖衣服和皮鞋的、有卖日常用品的……店里的物品琳琅满目，样样俱全。早晨，路上车水马龙，去学校的孩子们，去工厂上班的姑娘、小伙子们，去菜场买菜、卖菜的农民们，都急匆匆地走着。脚步声、自行车的“丁零”声、摩托车的“突突”声交织成欢快和谐的交响曲；下午，人们在商店间穿梭往来，挑选着自己喜欢的东西。

月亮悄悄地升上了枝头，洒下柔和的光芒，给大地披上了一件银装。这时，家乡的路就更美了。你看啊。荷花、玉兰花、仿古式……造型各异的路灯把一条条大道变成了五彩缤纷的灯的河流，车辆行人变成了欢快地游来游去的鱼儿。路边的花啊、草啊、树啊仿佛镶上了各种色彩的边儿，总让人觉得来到了童话世界，不，是仙境。难怪人们徜徉其间忘记了时间的流逝，即使深夜，也一如白昼的喧哗。路旁高低错落的建筑上彩灯、霓虹灯……闪一闪地交相辉映，仿佛是无数颗五颜六色的小星星在向你眨着眼睛，把整个高港变成了一个亮堂堂的“不夜城”，充满着生机，洋溢着活力。

Today the weather was terrible，so I had to stay at home.

In the afternoon，I finished some homework,then I thought that maybe today

was very boring。I stared to surf the Internet ,and I found the movie 《Ghost

Rider》which was directed by Mark Steven Johnson by accident and then I began to

watch it. The movie told us that a lover of motorcycle called Johnny signed an

agreement with a demon in order to save relatives‘’ lives .However,he lost his

spirit and had to work for the demon.Then He used his spell to fight with evil .

The movie was so exciting that I coulnt be calm 。I would never forget this

movie.

一喝完腊八粥，人们就开始忙活了，小孩子们就眼巴巴地盼着年三十的到来，因为一过年就有压岁钱收，还要包饺子，放花炮。我最喜欢的，也是人们最期盼的就是三十晚上的春节联欢晚会，里面有小品，相声，舞蹈，曲艺等各种各样有趣的节目。做了这么多事情，你一定想知道这春节是怎么来的吧，！听妈妈说，传说很早很早以前有一头年怪，每到年末的那一天，年怪就会出来吃小孩，人们都非常害怕，就带着老人和小孩四处逃命，有一个老人听了以后说：“放心，我会赶走怪物！”人们都劝老头快逃，可老头就是不听，人们没有办法，只好留老人一个人在村里，到了晚上，年怪来了，他见只有一户人家的等亮着，打了个冷战，这时，老人从院子里出来，穿着红衣服，墙上贴着红对联，年怪见了，往后退了一步，老人又放了几个炮仗，年怪最怕见红色了，又听见炮仗声，吓得逃进了深山.第二天人们回来，见老人没事，非常惊讶，老人把赶走年怪的经历说了一遍，人们知道了，再也不害怕年怪了，于是就留下了过年贴对联，防炮仗的习俗，把农历每年的最后一天称为过年，后来又因为是立春以后的节日，所以又叫春节。

Hometown is the place where a person belongs. Chinese people have special

feelings about their hometown. No matter where they go, they won’t abandon it

and always make some time to visit. My hometown brings me so many happy memories

and I wish it could keep its original face forever.

Two years ago, I lived in my hometown. It is a small village, so people

there get familiar with each other. When we walked on the country road, everyone

smiled when we saw each other. There was no distance for us. In the daytime, I

liked to go boating in the small river with my friends, or sometimes I could

I am writing to apply for a British Council scholarship to study in Britain. I did my five years basic training in medicine at Shanghai University. After this I successfully completed a one-year postgraduate course in Ophthalmology at the Peoples General Hospital, where I am at present serving a two-year probation in the Eye Clinic.

As a result of the publication in 2003 of my article in New Scientist entitled "Soft and Rigid Contact Lenses ", which was based on a survey of 37 patients over 6 months, I made contact with Dr. Li Ming of the Capital Hospital and Dr. Ma Li of the University College Hospital. I have received their help and advice with my current research project, which is a two-year survey of the acceptance of various types of contact lenses in 200 patients.

Despite their help, I feel that I cannot make real progress in this field unless I can actually have day-to-day contact with these specialists. I would therefore like to continue my research at either the Capital Hospital or the UCH as soon as my probationary period here is completed, and I would like to study in Britain for two years.

I enclose a detailed curriculum vitae and an offprint of my article, together with two letters of recommendation from Dr. Li Ming and Dr. Ma Li.

秋天，是农民伯伯收获喜悦的季节，一阵风吹过来，沉甸甸的麦穗不停的向路人点头。成熟的玉米耷拉着脑袋，又是一个丰收季节，秋天来了，带着刺骨的寒意，枯黄的叶子一片一片在寒风中飘落，像铺了一层黄地毯，哈尔滨的深秋不免让人有些伤感。

冬天，漫天飞舞的雪花飘落下来，整座城市都穿上了白衣裳，太阳岛，松花江已结成厚厚的冰，狗拉雪橇，抽冰嘎等都是我们的最爱，夜晚，圣、索菲亚教堂在霓虹灯与雪花的交相辉映下显得更加巍峨壮观，富丽堂皇的。斯大林公园和兆麟公园被白皑皑的大雪覆盖，雪花反射的光芒让人心旷神怡，流连忘返。
