接着拿40克的面粉，也不知是不是我手气好一下子称出一个40克，作为礼品给大家看，大家左观赏，右观看，终于效仿出好几个。

最后没我的弱项来了——把面团揉成圆压平后加入红豆沙包成一个小“包子”，放进磨具并按压出月饼。幸好，老妈在，看着焦头烂额的我，她终于出了手，一下子就像包包子似的做出一个，这可让我目瞪口呆，看来，包包子和做月饼还有一点儿关系，得好好学学，方便以后做月饼。

45分钟后，六个精巧玲珑的小月饼做好了，回家后，爸爸连连称在——这不愧为环保无添加陈正哲牌月饼！

The joyous Mid-Autumn Festival was celebrated on the fifteenth day of the eighth moon around the time of the autumn equinox(秋分). Many referred to it simply as the "Fifteenth of the Eighth Moon".

The round moon cakes measuring about three inches in diameter and one and a half inches in thickness resembled Western fruitcakes in taste and consistency. These cakes were made with melon seeds(西瓜子) lotus seeds(莲籽) almonds(杏仁) minced meats.

面对一个话题，考生之所以无法写出连贯的文字，是因为缺少写作素材。那么素材是什么呢？其实也就是我们所说的“言之有物”中的“物”。无论是四、六级写作，还是考研写作，或是雅思、托福、GRE、GMAT、SAT写作，考生之所以无法取得高分，根本原因在于其日常积累的英文论证素材以及论据素材过于贫乏，根本无法将零星散落于大脑各个角落不成体系的素材组合起来，形成一篇逻辑严密、语言优美地道的文章。因此，英文素材的积累和素材库的建立可以真正帮助中国英语学习者和广大英语考生提高写作能力，走出英文表达困境。

正如前面所提到的，英语写作素材包含两类：一类是论证素材，即对于论点进行理论分析的素材。例如：论证竞争机制的重要性、论证环境保护的必要性、论证艺术的价值等。一类是论据素材，即可支持论点的相关事例。例如：“钻石教父”雷维夫与DeBeers公司的竞争促进了整个钻石行业的发展这一事例，可用来支持“竞争机制的重要性”的论证；引用美国政府参与环境保护的例子可佐证“环境保护的必要性”；贝多芬、巴赫、凡高的例子可说明伟大的艺术家们的艺术作品是如何推动人类文明发展的，并用以例证“艺术的价值”。

其实，只要多掌握适用于写作测试的英文写作素材（论证素材+论据素材），就已经为写出有理有据的文章打下了良好的基础，这也是写作的前提。因为，任何语言学习，或者说任何学习过程，都遵循“输入—输出”模式。如果没有输入，则永远不可能有输出；若没有好的输入，则永远不可能有好的输出。因此，语言学习有一条永恒不变的真理：不听永远不会说，不读永远不会写。这里的“听”和“读”就是输入环节，“说”和“写”就是输出环节；只有输入了好的英文素材，才能在需要的地方进行输出。

时间过得真快啊，转眼间又到了一年一度的中秋佳节。每年农历八月十五，在外的游子都要赶回家与亲人团聚，赏月、吃月饼、叙亲情。而今年的中秋月饼，最令我难忘。

这天，我和奶奶早早地商量好，下午在家自己做月饼，做手工月饼。对于这种特别的手工月饼，我好奇极了。对于做手工月饼，我可谓是一窍不通啊，但我奶奶可是个做月饼的高手。我们穿上了围裙，戴上了手套，来到客厅。客厅内有一张正方形的桌子，桌子上摆着两团奶奶从外面买来的月饼馅和奶奶昨天做好的已经醒好的酥油面团和光滑柔软的水油皮面团，以及一个带有十二生肖的木头模子。奶奶告诉我：“月饼的做法复杂，你要看看牢。”说完，奶奶从油面团和酥油面团中各拉下来一团，然后把酥油包在油面团里，擀成牛舌形，接着卷起来放十几分钟。我学着奶奶的样子，把油面团擀出来，卷好，放在桌子上。过了一会儿，发酵好了，奶奶把月饼馅包了进去，奶奶又告诉我：“包的时候小心一点，不能有漏洞，再把包好的月饼放进模子里按紧，之后把模子倒过来敲一下，一个月饼就做好了。”奶奶做完，该轮到我一展身手了。我按奶奶的说法，做了两个，可是都没包好，奶奶仔细检查了我的月饼，发现个问题原来是月饼陷没按紧，经过奶奶的纠正，我后来包得一个比一个好看。

我们把做好的月饼放进微波炉里，过了半个小时，香喷喷的味道迎面扑来，我打开微波炉，拿起自己做的月饼，仔细打量了一番，轻轻咬了一口，啊，又香又软，月饼的汁浸满我的整个嘴巴，让人吃了一个还想再吃一个。

今年的中秋节很是特别，这是我第一次做月饼，感觉真是妙不可言。

“哇，好香啊！”“哇！好好吃啊！”这是什么声音？我疑惑不解地走了过去。哦！原来是本真国的小勇士们在制作月饼啊！我便迫不及待地也加入了进去。

这次活动举办在“简·爱遇见你”。这里有三间店面，看上去是那么的时尚，那么的诱人。

一进门，我便闻到了中秋节的味道。在这里，我看到的第一个月饼，比我以前见过的月饼都大好几倍。并且这个月饼上面的图案有龙，有老虎，还有凤凰。这个月饼就好像一个巨大的荷花，上面的老虎、龙和凤凰都像活过来似的，在荷花上面高兴地打闹着。由此可见，店长是多么的用心呀。

让我出乎意料的是，主厅后面竟然还有个大“接待室”。随后，张师傅又让我们站在足有十米长的大桌子旁边，同学们不知道张师傅打着什么主意，只好按照要求去做。过了一会儿，张师傅用托盘端来了许多块儿黑乎乎的东西。接着，把那些黑乎乎的东西发给了我们。我捏了一捏，又闻了一闻，哦！原来是枣泥。我现在知道了，张师傅是要我们自己做枣泥月饼。

那块儿枣泥，就好像一块儿黑色的石头。张师傅又说：“王国王的小徒弟们，来拿起你们手中的枣泥，把它捏成圆形的。”我便小心翼翼地按照要求去做，生怕一不小心把它掉到了地上。过了一时半会儿，我终于把枣泥捏成了圆形，它就既像一个黑色的玻璃弹珠，又像一块儿黑色的橡皮泥，非常柔软。

后来，张师傅又发给了我们每人一块儿比枣泥差不多大小的面团儿。我想这一次一定还是把面团儿捏成圆形，果然不出我所料！我便也把面团捏成了圆形。现在的面团儿既像一个白色的陀螺，又像刚出锅的大白丸子。

接着，张师傅对我们说：“现在我们把面团按成一个圆饼儿，然后再把圆形的枣泥馅儿放在上面，最后再把它捏成圆！”

我想这样的做法也太像包饺子了。我听完了以后，便按着张师傅的说法做了起来。首先，我把面团按成了“饼”，这个饼就好像一个饺子皮儿。后来，我又把枣泥放了进去，过了不到几分钟，我终于做成功了。现在皮儿把馅儿裹起来就好像一个大大地圣珠。因为它是黑白相间的。接着我又用模具把“圣珠”印出了一个美丽的图案。

最后，张师傅把印好的月饼放到了烤炉里，烤了15分钟。千盼万盼，终于盼到了月饼被烤好的时候，可是张师傅又在上面涂了一些鸡蛋，唉！可惜还要等6分钟！

最后，美味的月饼终于诞生了。真是太馋人了，我拿上了我做好的月饼，好激动，好兴奋。我现在不能吃，也舍不得吃，我要回家与爸爸妈妈一起分享。因为这是我靠自己的努力第一次做的月饼。

我的月饼就这样诞生了。

有两则关于同一条英语谚语Blood is thicker than water的译例。其一是“清水不浓血却浓”，其二是“血浓于水”。从字面上看，上述两则译例译得固然不错，似无可厚非。译文读起来很顺，又比较易懂，但读后似有不知所云之感。

这是因为译文的形象没能准确地传达出这条谚语的喻义来。

Longman Dictionary of English Idioms（p.28）上对这条谚语的解释是“The relationship between people of the same family is stronger than other，relationships”因此，这则谚语似可以借用汉语中一句俗语“亲不亲一家人”来译更能表达出“属于同一血缘关系的一家人比别人更亲近一些”的寓意。

语言是文化的表现形式。谚语同文学作品、诗歌一样是语言的精华。英语谚语是富于色彩的语言形式，一般具有生动形象、喻义明显、富于哲理的语言特征。在一定程度上，英语谚语反映了英语民族的文化特点。因此，翻译英语谚语时，仅仅以语言之间词汇的同义性（等价性）为前提，寻求对等的表现是不够的。译者须较多运用汉语的表现手段，力求能再现英语谚语的语言风格和丰富内涵。只有多注意英语谚语字面以外所特有的语言内涵色彩，才能使译文讽喻得当，宜于说理，又不失原来谚语所具有的语言形象。

某些英语谚语和汉语成语、俗语在表现形式和含义方面是一致的或基本一致的。汉译这些英语时，可惜用与其喻义相同或相近的成语或谚语及俗语直接对译。这样不但可以比较好地保持原文的神韵和形式，又使译文易于为读者或听者接受。如：

Pride comes before a fall．骄兵必败。

Amiss is as good as a mile.差之毫厘，失之千里。

Two is company，but three is none.两个和尚抬水吃，三个和尚无水吃。

Walls have ear.隔墙有耳。

Enough is as good as a feast．知足常乐。

有些英语谚语虽然在语言习惯和文化背景方面和其相对的汉语谚语之间存在着某些差异，而且所比喻的事物并不一样，但他们的喻义却相互吻合，而且表达方式也很相似，汉译这些英语谚语时，常常需要“易其形式，存其精神”，即采用形象近似的汉语成语意译。这样可使译文既喻义明显，又含而不露，且可再现原文所具有的语言效果，容易达意。如：

Two can play the game.孤掌难鸣。

Newbroom sweeps clean.新官上任三把火。

Speak of the devil，and he appears.说曹操，曹操到。

The grass is greener on the other side of the hill．这山望着那山高。

Putting the cart before the horse.本末倒置。

有些英语谚语意在言外，语言含蓄，寓意深刻。如果仅从字面意义直译成汉语，而不领会原文的具体含义及其效果，译文势必平淡无味。这样既不能表达意思，又有损于原文的语言形象和丰富内涵。因此，在翻译时，应在汉语中寻找那些与原文喻义相同或效果相似的成语、谚语或俗语来表达，则会使译文形象生动，准确达意。试比较下列各译例。

People who live in glass houses should not throw stones.如译成“住在玻璃房子里的人，不应扔石头”不如译成“己有过，勿正人”或“责人必先责己”。

In fair weather prepare for the foul．如译成“晴天要防阴天”，不如译成“有备无患”或“居安思危”或“未雨绸缪”。

Murder will out．如译成“谋杀终必败露”，不如译成“纸包不住火”。

Fools rush in where angels fear to tread．如译成“愚者敢闯天使不敢去的地方”，不如译成“初生牛犊不怕虎”。

One cannot make an omelette without breaking eggs.如译成“想吃煎蛋卷，就得打鸡蛋”，不如译成工“有得必有失”或甚至可以引申为“不破不立”。

如果所要翻译的谚语喻义清新，形象逼真，按其字面直译其意，就能表达出原文的喻义来，则可直译。这样做既能较完整地保存原文的表达方式，且又可丰富我们自己的语言文化，一举两得，请看下面的译例。

God helps those who help themselves.上帝帮助那些自己帮助自己的人。或“自助者天助之”。

Money is the root of all evil．金钱是万恶之源。

An empty sack cannot stand upright．空袋立不直。

Do as you would be done by. 以你所期望的别人待你的方式待人。

这与另一谚语： Don’t do unto others what you don’t want others do unto you.“己所不欲勿施于人”很相似。

Money talks.钱能通神。

有些英语谚语常常采用对称的修辞手段。使用这一修辞手段的目的在于加强语势，宜于说理，读后有心悦诚眼之感。汉译这些谚语时，应适当注意保持其修辞色彩，以便体现原文的表达方式。如：

You may take a horse to the water， but you can’t make it drink．

如果按字面译成，“你可以把马牵到河边去，但不能叫它饮水”至少是没有充分体现这句谚语本身所具有的强烈对比色彩。从语法分析的观点看，在这个句子里，情态动词may和can虽然都表示“可能”的，但在含义上有所不同。这里may表示“事实上的可能性”，而can则表示“逻辑上的可能性”。并列连词but使前后两个分句意义相反，对比色彩强烈。在这种情况下，译文也必须力求对偶整齐，前后呼应，形成对照。如将此句译作“牵马河边易，逼它饮水难”或“老牛不喝水，不能强按头”会更好些。

总之，即使像谚语这样孤立的语句，翻译时也需尽一番揣摩切磋之功，否则译文就可能与原文“貌合神离”，文不达意。译事艰辛也许正在于此。

有人喜欢甜甜的蛋糕，有人喜欢香香的鸡翅，有人喜欢美味的糖果，可我尤其喜欢寄托着人间深情的圆圆的月饼！

听说今天要在班级里开展制作月饼活动，大家别提多兴奋了！一下课，我们收起往日贪玩的心，赶到卫生间洗手，做好充分的准备。看到教室重新布置了一番，大家激动万分，个个摩拳擦掌，跃跃欲试。糕点师发给每个小组月饼皮，月饼馅儿，还有一些面粉，我们戴上手套系上围裙，俨然一幅小小糕点师的模样。

老师宣布活动开始，告诉我们先要把一个面团压平压大，厚薄要均匀，要不然裹馅儿的时候容易露馅儿。如果能像满月一样圆圆的形状就更好了。下一步要把事先调好的馅儿放在皮的中间，然后用皮儿把馅儿裹起来，就像给一个害羞的小姑娘裹上一层皮袄。裹馅儿可是关键，如果稍不小心就会露馅儿，这样月饼就像负伤的士兵没有了威风！为了月饼不会粘手，还要在裹好的半成品月饼表面撒上一层薄薄的面粉，就像给她披上了一层白纱。最考验月饼颜值的时候到了，我们用各种花样的磨具，把月饼压成各种花样儿，有小汽车的，有花朵的，还有菠萝的……真是有趣极了，但是需要注意的是，压得时候要轻轻的，不然调皮的馅儿就会冒出来。哈哈，这个对我来说就是小菜一碟，当把压好的月饼拿出来的时候，哇，简直变了一个模样，太神奇了！再看看别人，他们有的还在忙碌着，有的做完了，在座位上开心地撒面粉玩儿，有的做完了在座位上和别人比谁的月饼更美……我就静静地坐在那儿，等待最后的颁奖时刻。

等大家都做好了，老师激动地宣布：现在开始颁奖，同学们都用期望的眼光看着老师，当报到“希望小组”的时候，我们高兴地跳上讲台领奖。

Dear Mr. Wang,

Thank you for taking the time to write your wonderful letter in support of

MCEA (Maywood Chinese Education Association). Your letter clearly articulates

all the major reasons children in Maywood will benefit from studying the Chinese

language as part of their elementary school education. It provides invaluable

support that will help making bilingual Chinese education a reality in Maywood

public schools.

Although MCEA would like to see Palo Alto public schools implement the

first bilingual Chinese kindergarten class in September of 2006, we have learned

that the school district must take the time to understand how a new program will

affect existing educational offerings, and to validate community interest.

Nevertheless, MCEA, with more than 70 members, will continue to actively promote

bilingual Chinese education in the Palo Alto public schools and will keep you

apprised of the progress we make.

Thanks again for sending a letter in support of MCEA. We will continue to

do all we can to realize this program both for families of Chinese descent and

those with a general interest in participating in the growing economic power of

因为举手的同学越来越多了，所以主持人的眼睛应接不暇，最后，选好了第二组。第二组是男生对男生的比赛，是文杰和是文杰和罗裔泽比赛，比赛刚开始，罗裔泽就大口大口地吃，可是，文杰吃完一口嚼干净后，才吃另一口，因为吃法不一样，结果也不一样，所以罗裔泽胜利了。

第三组是我们一个班高高的唱歌又很好的女同学颜语晨。另一个画画很好成绩又很好的男同学文楚雄。如果让你选，也许会选颜语晨，也许会选文楚雄，如果你选了颜语晨，那你就错了。你猜对了吗？

被叫上来的同学都在表演花式吃法，有的跟王雨欣一样细嚼慢咽，大部分都是女生，所以女生有许多输了比赛、有的咬几口，就把剩下的塞进嘴里、有的狼吞虎咽……
