农历五月初五端午节。是纪念屈原以身殉国，填入汩罗江的日子。为了不让鱼虾们把屈原身体上的肉吃掉。人们就用粽叶包裹着糯米投入江里，并且人们也要吃粽子、咸鸭蛋，在家门前挂菖蒲和艾草，人们还要举行赛龙舟。

首先是包粽子，要把竹叶洗干净，在热水中泡软，在准备好绿豆、鸡蛋黄、肉等材料做馅。再把长长的竹叶折叠，围拢做成一个窝，中间放进配好的糯米和粳米，包出棱角。然后把馅放在米里，和在一起揉均，最后把竹叶包着的粽子做四个角的形状。包粽子最后一道工序是：用棉线绳包好粽子，不然粽子在煮的过程中就会松开。把包好的粽子放进锅里，水要漫过粽子，用猛火煮，大约一个小时后，改用文火煮三十分钟。等粽子熟了以后，就会闻到淡淡的竹叶香，清香四溢。

端午节的习俗是吃粽子、插艾叶和赛龙舟。每年的农历五月初五，家家户户门口都插上了艾叶。艾叶像菊花的叶子，但叶子上覆盖了一层又白又薄的绒毛，就像一个个绿色的小姑娘披上了一件白纱。艾叶不但长得漂亮，而且还有很强的驱蚊作用呢!

每年端午节前两天，外婆就会去买粽叶、糯米、肉等材料包粽子。现在粽子馅的品种可多啦，有：肉馅、红豆馅、蛋黄肉馅、板栗肉馅等。我最喜欢吃蛋黄肉馅的粽子。

每年这个时候，西太湖还会举办赛龙舟比赛。那场面很热闹，爸爸妈妈每年都会带我去看。每年都是人山人海的。赛龙舟的人你追我赶，抢着第一名的位子。

这就是我喜欢的节日——端午节。
