一天，丁丁吃早饭时，他边吃边看书。妈妈说：“边吃饭边看书不好。会影响视力。”但是，丁丁还在看书，不听妈妈的话。
下午放学了，丁丁和一个叫小军的同学回家。他边走路边看书，小军提醒他，这样不好。丁丁说：“别打扰我!”
晚上，丁丁又在看书，被《安徒生童话》给迷住了。这时，妈妈走进来，一看丁丁在躺着看书，就说：“这样对视力还是不好的!”丁丁听了，只好合上书，依依不舍地睡了。
第二天，妈妈带丁丁去医院检查视力。到了眼科，丁丁进去了。医生要丁丁闭起左眼，看视力表上的各种“e”字。丁丁看着视力表，觉得模模糊糊。这时，他知道了自己看书的姿势不对，向妈妈承认了错误。
他还保证，以后一定要保护好自己的视力
