因为这种格式不是符合事件发展的基本时间顺序，所以在写作时要尽量从受众的角度出发来构思，按受众对事件重要程度的认识来安排事件要素。把最重要的写在前面，然后将各个事实按其重要性程度依次写下去。

正金字塔式此种写作方式刚好与「倒金字塔式」相反，是以时间发生顺序作为行文结构的写作方式，依序分别是引言、过程、结果，采渐入高潮的方式，将新闻重点摆在文末，一般多用于特写。

折衷式又叫新华体。此种写作方式为「倒金字塔式」、「正金字塔式」的折衷，亦即，新闻中最重要的讯息仍然在导言中呈现，接著，则依新闻的时间性或逻辑性叙述。我们国家的新闻报道一般是遵循时间顺序，但是这种“讲故事”的写法已经不适合受众的阅读习惯(一般人没有时间听你讲长篇大论)，所以“新华体”在吸收中外新闻报道之长的情况下诞生了。

平铺直叙式顾名思义，此种写作方式就是注重行文的起、承、转、合，力求文字的流畅精准。对教师组织而言，由于时常必须发表对特定教育政策、事件的看法，此种写作方式反而适合组织在发表声明时使用。
