Those people who succeed with a college degree are so many that this would seem to be a must and a natural part of elites. The absence of university education is hard to imagine in our days. The prospect of those juvenile workers or businessmen would be even dimmer than ever before .For in our age, knowledge is not only the power, but also the know-how to solving problems and gaining a much larger fortune.

There has long been a view among Chinese that "Spare the rod, spoil the child". How did this point form and spread through Chinas long history may cause my curiosity. However,what really interests me is whether this viewpoint is still worthy of adoption in our modern society.

For one thing, such "rod using" education mode has no possibility of achieving the goal of education:the forming of a childs judgment on right and wrong as well as the developing of a childs self-control ability. Children are always inquisitive and destructive, tearing up books, throwing down vases and etc,which will make you feel rather angry. Punish them or explain to them, you are faced up with a choice. In fact, whichever method you choose, it will be effective at that time. The only difference is that the former one works on childrens fear of penalty and the latter one on their realization of mistakes. Fears disappearing quickly, children are likely to repeat their wrong activities if you only punish them. Once learning why they are wrong and knowing what is allowed and what is banned, the children may avoid making the same mistakes in the future. And little by little,childrens judging ability will be developed. So in the long run,pointing out the mistakes and what is permitted seem more wise.

Similarly, such "penalty emphasizing" education mode,which somewhat seems a bit violent, harms childrens growth and the forming of their characters. “呼、呼、呼。”狂风把每棵树弄的都四处摇晃，乌云派着千万颗“金豆子”往地面上撞。一道紫色的闪电像一把利剑划破了黑暗的天空，让我觉得毛骨悚然。叮铃铃，放学的铃声打响了，同学们打着花花绿绿的雨伞陪着家长开开心心地走出了校门。我又想：中午妈妈告诉我下午她有事不能接我，叫我自己回家，想到这里我准备拿出雨伞打开来遮雨回家。可是我把书包翻了个底朝天也仍然没有发现雨伞的一个影子。我呆呆的望着天上的雷正在隆隆的想着又想道：赶快放晴吧!可是还是无济于事，真是求天天不应，求地地不灵啊!这时一个清晰的叫声打破了沉寂的局面，“谢宇杰，你没带伞吗?我和你一起回家吧。”我同学和蔼可亲的说，我不好意思的答应了。在回家的路上他的雨伞一直往我这边移，那豆子般的雨粒直往他身上撞，差不多到家了他那衣服竞湿了一大块，他却丝毫都不在意。回到家后回想那动人的一刻想到这里我不禁泪流满面颊。

啊!我终于知道了，这个友谊曾经给我多大的帮助啊!这个友谊给我一丝温暖、一丝帮助还有一丝信任。让我明白了友谊是多么的重要呀!
