Teachers have stifled creativity in the pursuit of the accumulation of facts, and parents have forced children to spend mind-numbing hours cramming for exams. Several other countries in East Asia, including Japan, South Korea and Taiwan, are grappling with similar problems. But the implications of Chinas reform efforts are particularly profound. Chinas traditional education methods are ideally suited to a political culture that requires citizens to submit blindly to authority. By encouraging students to question their teachers and regard them as equals (even official literature now talks of fostering a “democratic” atmosphere in classrooms), China could be ushering in a new kind of relationship between the rulers and the ruled.

三、学生答题情况分析

1 、单项填空：单项选择题分两部分，A部分为单词辨音，主要考查字母u 、i,字母组合ea、ear 、ow 在单词中的读音,学生失分主要在第1、3题。B部分为单项选择，考查的知识点多，覆盖面广，有一定的难度。但老师课堂都有讲到，可从学生做题情况来看，此题失分较多，从中可以看出学生对基础题掌握不够扎实，知识掌握还不到位。失分最多的主要集中在第 14(考查kind of 和 a kind of的区别)15、(考查spend，pay和take的区别),16(考查 It is +adj. + do…的句型)，17、(考查have fun doing sth.结构)，20题( 考查多个修饰词的顺序结构)

2、完形填空题的难度不大，既有考查语法知识，还要考查学生的分析理解能力。(1)班此题得分较高，2班级的学生得分较低。此题第23、28、29题丢分最多。由此看出学生的语法知识掌握不够牢靠。

3、阅读理解分ABC篇，C篇为任务读写型。AB篇所选的阅读文章主要考查学生对阅读材料的分析理解能力、推理判断和概括归纳能力。阅读理解难度适中，1班的得分率较高。学生已经掌握一定的阅读技巧。2班的有些学生由于对学习不感兴趣，这类的学生都是胡乱选题。此题失分较多的主要在32、36、40、题。此三题主要考查学生对文章的推理判断和归纳的能力。学生对文章的概括归纳能力还有待加强训练。C篇丢分较为严重，得分率很低，也有得满分的，但人数不多。在这方面学生有待于提高。

4、 情景交际主要考查学生综合运用语言的能力。所选材料贴近学生的生活实际，考查题目基本都可以通过上下文语境完成，相对比较容易，得分较高。

5、词汇主要考查常用单词，两个班的学生在词汇题上失分较高，主要存在几点：⑴不会拼写单词;⑵时态的错误;⑶词的词的正确形式。

6、写作

写作分AB篇;A篇小作文的要求是介绍人物的，浅显易懂，学生有话可说。写自己印象最深刻的人，这题材学生练过的，也是都是学生在日常生活中经常用到的，说到的语言，学生组织起来不难。所用的句型、单词都是学生学过的，且都是重点内容。在日常教学中，是老师反复强调的内容。因此，本题得分率还可以;而B篇 书面表达。 从试卷得分情况看，学生对于写作部分的词汇用法掌握不到位。对于动词的第三人称单数的概念不清，时态运用正确，大部分学生基础知识掌握得不好，张冠李戴的现象比较突出，个别学生不注意审题。⑵班好些学生空白不写。有些学生甚至抄阅读理解的短文内容。

四、具体改进措施

1、钻研新教材，夯实英语基础。在练习时，很多学生“一看就会，一做就错”，这种现象比较普遍，失误原因是对于常见用语掌握的熟练程度还不够。其根本原因就在于基础不牢，只有扎扎实实从基础做起，才能最终达到“一看就会，一做就对”。

2、加强英语课外阅读。英语知识的获得与能力的提高是在不断的听、说、读、写的训练过程中逐步形成的，而教材和课堂所能提供的训练还是比较有限的，因此，要加强理解语篇的能力训练，增强英语语感。

3、规范训练，改进学习方法。要善于分析学生，找出学生的薄弱环节，合理安排好教材知识梳理、专项训练和应试技巧指导。

4、加强听力训练。冰冻三尺非一日之寒，听力理解能力的提高不是一朝一夕能改变的，而是长期的不间断训练的结果，因此要保证每天让学生至少听力训练10分钟。

期末考试过后，我独自一人闷闷不乐地坐在一边空想，一点儿也高兴不起来，因为怕期末考试考砸了。所以整天就只想着自己不会出错、粗心大意，分数要保持原有优势等等。

最终，成绩出来了，真的不出我所料，幸运女神并没有降临在我身上她只对我说：“一分耕耘，一分收获。所有的一切，都是你一手造成的，要不要亡羊补牢，由你自己决定。”接着，把失望和后悔留给了我——比上学期总分下降了70多分。

书面表达历来是英语教学中一个难点，要想在限定的时间内写出一篇质量上乘的文章，非一日之功。纵观几年来的高考书面表达，我们可以看出，高考英语写作越来越重视情景的设置，要求考生总结自己的感受和见解，给出自己的观点。书面表达又是全面衡量学生英语综合水平的一种测试形式，因此，我们不得不重视。

第一步，写作的内容，要求做到两点— 内容完整、相关。这两点只要考生不粗心，基本都能做到。比如陕西考区的题目，要求写暑假的安排，是一篇正反观点类的议论文。必须注意题目的要求，第一要提出讨论话题，Recently there has been a heated discussion about what the students should do during the summer vacation.(这是一个经典的模版开篇句型)。第二要写出一方面的观点，然后是另一方面的观点，最后提出自己的看法，根据要求缺一不可，否则就会被扣掉相应的分数，这就是完整。再比如，2005年广东考区的成语寓言故事，不仅要描写整个守株待兔的过程，还应该根据要求点名寓意，否则也是不完整，这点只要在课堂上强调，学生是很容易做到的。所谓相关，也就是不要过多出现文中没有的信息，不能过分发挥，一般学生犯此类错误的较少。

第二步，写作中的语法。在阅卷中，一般三个小的语法错误会被扣掉一分，一个大的语法错误(关于谓语的错误)会被扣掉一分。所以，学生应该尽量避免犯语法错误。我在课堂中会强调，对于语法基础薄弱的同学，除了加强自己的语法功底外，就是去背诵我给出的50个最高频用到的句法结构。这些结构不仅正确，而且一定是高考中的有效得分点，即使语法偏弱，记住这些句子然后在考试中使用也能避免学生自己造句中的语法错误，一举两得。比如，倒装句在考试中就很少有同学主动启用，但是一旦正确启用就会收到意想不到的效果，所以我会给出四组倒装句，然后让学生加强运用和练习。这些句子包括：

1、Only when we realize the importance of environmental protection, can we solve the problem of pollution.

2、So precious is time that we can’t afford to waste it.

3、Diligent as he was, he failed in passing the exam.

4、By no means should teenagers get into the habit of smocking.

第三步，连接词的运用，使文章连贯、流畅。我把这些词分为8类，叫做“畅词”，往往学生由于中西方语言的差异，会忽视这一点，所以在授课中会通过大量的练习巩固和加强学生的印象。而且不仅要写，还写出高水平的畅词，因为高考是选拔性考试，要做到“人无我有,人有我优”。比如，“首先”这个表示次序的畅词，一般同学一定想到的是firstly 或者first of all。可是我建议学生启用to begin with, 或者initially (这个是建议水平较好的启用)。“然而”，绝大部分启用but, however，我建议学生采用on the contrary 或者oppositely。

第四步，也是整个课程的核心部分，要强化“复杂、高级”两个概念。为什么是核心呢?因为学生在这一部分没有正确的认识，在平时的学习中老师也没有有意识灌输和训练总结。大部分学生以为只要写出来、写正确就可以拿到高分，其实80-120个单词包括大概10个句子，如果全部是简单的词汇和句型没有办法达到最高档作文的要求。因此，我们强调高级的词汇和高级复杂的句型，不是说全部必须高级，而是必须出现一些才能符合高考作文大纲的要求。在这一步中，我总结的“高分词汇选择原则”、“简单句到复杂句的瞬间转换”、“高分句子写作策略”以及“钻石得分50句”，通过这些理论和实践结合的讲解，学生会感觉成绩的快速提升，效果明显。

在我们班，同学们都叫我“小翻译”。其实，我以前的英语成绩是一塌糊涂。

记得那一次，我的英语测试只考了58分。卷子发下来后，老师要求拿回家让父母签阅。不用说，父母看了少不了一顿打哭。没办法，我只好去求外公了。

“外公，我知道您最疼薇薇了，求您帮我签个字，好吗？”

外公接过卷子一看，眉头皱了起来。“薇薇，外公可以帮你签这个字，不过外公有一个要求。”

“没问题，只要您能签字，十个要求我也答应您。”

“从今天开始，外公和你一起学英语，谁要是没学好，就由对方处罚。”

“好呀，一言为定。” 我满口答应了外公的要求。心想：一个老头子了，我就不信你还能记得住ABC！？

然而，我错了，真的错了。

那是一个夏天，正值高温季节。白天，火辣辣的太阳把大地烤得像个火炉。直到晚上，也没有一丝儿风，我们坐在阳台上边摇着蒲扇边谈话。唯独外公一个人聚精会神地坐在书桌前学习英语。豆大的汗珠从他的额头上滚落下来，但他顾不得这些，仍然埋头奋笔疾书。

突然，外公的眉毛紧锁起来，啊，原来他有一个单词背不出,急得汗一个劲地流下来。我走上前去用关切的口吻说：“外公，先歇歇吧！”“不，”外公说，“你先去吧，我写完再来！”就这样，外公翻呀查呀，渐渐地夜深了，我们都入睡了。

半夜里，我醒了，蒙胧中看见灯还亮着，书桌前有个背影，不停地写着什么，汗水已经湿透了背心。我定睛一看，啊，是外公，他怎么还没唾？我看了一眼挂钟，已经深夜12点多了。外公的旁边还放着只脸盆，里面盛着冷水，一条毛巾，啊，这是外公用冷毛巾来降温呢！

外公的学习精神深深感染了我。我暗自下决心，一定要发奋学好英语，绝不辜负外公对我的一片苦心。从这以后，我的课余时间就和ABC交上了“朋友”。在往返学校的路上，在课间休息的时间里，在完成家庭作业之后……我把所学的英语单词，一个又一个背记在心里。这一招，还是外公教我的，他说，学好英语的基础，首先就是熟记单词。一天又一天过去了，我对英语越来越感兴趣了，还时常用英语和外公进行简单的对话，英语成绩自然上了一个新台阶。

现在我不在害怕英语考试了，每次考试之后，老师都会在班上点名表扬我。看着同学们那羡慕的眼神，其实我心里比谁都清楚，我今天的成绩，全都是因为我有一个好外公！

[初一作文：我和外公学英语

Everyone has a hobby. I like doing sports and I like playing basketball the

best. So I decided to play basketball every morning with my classmates. Today,

the weather was nice. Early in the morning, I got up and worn clothes quickly.

When I arrived at the basketball ground, my classmates have already been there.

First, we ran around the basketball ground so that we could play better in the

game. After that, we began to play basketball. In the end, we beat another team.

Although we all felt tired, we were happy and proud.
