At one point, a controversial suggestion was put forward to bulldoze a mountain adjacent to the city, in order to let fresh air in to the bowl where Lanzhou is situated. It was suggested on the premise that the surrounding mountains block a free flow of air in the city. The city is located in a narrow river valley with an unfortunate curve causing it to be hemmed in with no free air flow. Lanzhou is also the home of many factories, including some involved in petroleum processing, and suffers from large dust storms kicked up from the Gobi Desert, especially in the winter and spring.

我的家乡在哈巴河。这里山清水秀，土地肥沃，树木葱郁，鸟语花香。到处都呈现“美”字，不说那怪石嶙峋的哈龙沟，也不说那婀娜多姿的杨柳，高耸挺拔的松树；单说那一条护城河——哈巴河，就足以让你心驰神往了。

哈巴河总给人一种古朴典雅的感觉。你看岸边的大青石，像能工巧匠雕琢过一样，那样的光滑圆润。河道蜿蜒曲折，像天上的神仙不小心掉下的丝带，轻轻地镶嵌在白桦林旁，围绕着白桦林，缓缓流淌。河水随着弯曲的河道转来转去，似乎对周围的美景有着无限的留恋。

哈巴河的河水清澈见底，水底那亮晶晶，黄灿灿的沙粒，静静的躺着，默默的注视着蓝天，白云，以及天上飞过的鸟儿。鹅卵石和那青、黄、褐色的水草的尽显神奇，随着水纹的波动，风姿绰约，尽显身姿，相互辉映。古人常说：“水至清则无鱼。”可哈巴河却不是这样，虽然水质清澈，但还是有一条条泥鳅在石缝中窜来钻去，无忧无虑的追逐嬉闹着，忽而一闪，便悠然而去，觅不到踪影了，好不逍遥自在！

哈巴河真美啊！美得像一幅五彩的画，像一首抒情的诗，像一首婉转的歌。她洗净了我们心灵的污垢，带走了我们的忧愁，留下的却是幸福、欢乐和甜蜜。

啊，哈巴河，我们歌颂你，我们赞美你，你如同我们的母亲，哺育着这一城的子女！同样，我们也会爱护你，让你美丽的绿衣裳不再逐渐减少，我们会让你变的更美丽，更富饶！

我是土生土长的长沙人。不用说，我的家乡就是湖南长沙市。

我的家乡有许多名胜古迹。城区有可供参观游览的景观景点50多处，主要有岳麓山景区，橘子洲、开福寺、马王堆汉墓、古城楼天心阁、贾谊故宅、白沙古井、走马楼和孙吴简牍、湖南省立第一师范学校、中共湘区委员会旧址-清水塘、汉代北津城，船山学社等等。还有新开发的沿江风光带、杜甫江阁、桔子洲的风景园、海底世界、世界之窗。岳麓山风景名胜区位于市区湘江西岸，是湖南著名的风景区。景区湘江环流，桔洲横前，古城相望，山、江、洲、城浑然一体，自古就是文人墨客观景吟咏的佳地。

我的家乡还有很多好吃的。姊妹团子、龙脂猪血、德园包子、"双燕"馄饨、臭干子、和记米粉、椒盐馓子等等，最著名的还是我们每天都吃的湘菜。主要特点是口味多样，有口味重、辣的，还有口味鲜，清淡的。如果你还想了解长沙名吃、名景，你就上网查查，一定会吓得你一跳。

我爱我的家乡，我爱美丽的长沙城……

我的家乡是沭阳，虽然这里没有什么名胜古迹，也不能与其它大城市相提并论，可是近年来，沭阳真的在不断地变化，越变越美丽，越变越繁荣、昌盛。

以前我们沭阳各条道路总是坑坑洼洼的，一到了晚上，就黑漆漆的，什么也看不见，人们走在街上，经常会因为不小心踩到有坑的地方而崴了脚。而且因为路面坑坑洼洼的，下了雨过后，坑里面就会有许多的积水，你如果走在路边，一辆车子开过来，坑里的积水会溅得你满身都是，让你变成名副其实的“落汤鸡”。现在路面已经变成平坦而宽阔了，一到晚上，华灯齐放，五彩缤纷。道路两旁还种植了一排排行道树，仿佛在向着远方的朋友说：“欢迎，欢迎！”

几年前的沭阳人卫生习惯比较差，垃圾桶就摆在离人们不远的地方，可是人们就是不愿多走几步，仍然乱扔果皮纸屑，真是一点儿也不爱护环境！可是现在不同了，人们十分爱护环境，不像以前那样随手把垃圾扔在地上了。如果偶尔有人随手把垃圾扔在地上，会有人主动走出来捡起垃圾，而随便乱扔垃圾的人也会羞愧地低下头，一起把垃圾捡起来放进垃圾箱里。

近两年，我的家乡正悄悄地发生着很多变化。你瞧！那宽阔的道路，四通八达；摩天的高楼大厦，随处可见；各种各样的超市、商店，星罗棋布；洁净的街道和彩色的瓷砖，使人们心情舒畅地散步、闲谈；绿色如茵的绿化带中，散发出各种花的香味，沁人心脾，令人流连忘返。节假日，人们三五成群的到公园、去野外郊游，充分享受闲暇的快乐时光，超市每天都人山人海，人们逛商店，大量地购物；大大小小的饭馆，各具风味，吸引了八方来客，这个古老而又美丽的城市，正向着大都市发展……

村子里的小洋楼渐渐多了起来，甘甜清凉的自来水顺着架起的管道快乐地流进了千家万户。家家户户搞起了特色养殖，果树硕果累累，花卉飘香全国。稻花香里蛙声一片，空气格外清新。宽敞明亮的农家小院，电视机、电冰箱等高档家电一应俱全。人们在工作之余，渴了，可以打开冰箱从里面拿出饮料；累了，靠在沙发上收看电视。鸡鸭鱼肉更是家常便饭。许多外出打工的叔叔阿姨们竟开起了小轿车，这一切是老辈人想都不敢想的。家乡人民的生活真是富裕了。

几年不见，沭阳真是让人刮目相看。随着科学技术的发展，我相信，我们的家乡在不久的将来会变得更加美丽，更加富裕! 美丽的苏北小城发生的变化不正是祖国日新月异的缩影吗？
