i am a first-year student in nanjing university. every day, i have a very busy and full schedule.

1979年，在邓主席的提议下，第五届全国人大常委会第六次会议决定每年3月12日为我国的3.12植树节。

1981年12月13日，五届全国人大四次会议讨论通过了《关于开展全民义务植树运动的决议》。这是建国以来国家最高权力机关对绿化祖国作出的第一个重大决议。从此，全民义务植树运动作为一项法律开始在全国实施。

那么大家知道植树对人类到底有什么好处吗?

首先，植树造林可使水土得到保持，哪里植被覆盖率低，哪里每逢雨季就会有大量泥沙流入河里，把田地毁坏，把河床填高，把入海口淤塞，危害极大。要抑制水土流失，就必须植树造林，因为树木有像树冠那样庞大的根系，能像巨手一般牢牢抓住土壤。而被抓住的土壤的水分，又被树根不断地吸收蓄存。据统计，一亩树林比无林地区多蓄水20吨。

其次，植树造林能防风固沙。风沙所到之处，田园会被埋葬，城市会变成废墟。要抵御风沙的袭击，必须造防护林，以减弱风的力量。风一旦遇上防护林，速度要减弱70% ~80%。如果相隔一定的距离，并行排列许多林带，再种上草，这样风能刮起的沙砾也就减少了。

再次，植树造林能为人类提供许多有用的东西。不少水果、药材都是林产品，茶叶、橡胶、新碳等更来自林木。

此外，植树造林能清除完全污染。据统计，一亩树林一年可以吸收灰尘2万—6万千克，每天能吸收67千克二氧化碳，释放出48千克氧气;一个月可以吸收有毒气体二氧化硫4千克，一亩松柏林两昼夜能分泌2千克杀菌素，可杀死肺结核、伤寒、白喉、痢疾等病菌。

植树造林还能减少噪音，美化环境，保持生态平衡，为人类提供理想的学习、工作、娱乐和生活的场所。

绿色是大自然的颜色，绿色孕育着生命与希望，没有绿色，就没有我们人类。

在3.12植树节到来之际，人们纷纷走向田野山岗，履行公民的植树义务。许多人用种植纪念树、营造纪念林、公益林的形式，既绿化环境、减少污染，又铭志于树，寄情于林。

物业的工作人员教我们如何使用垃圾夹，并告诉我们路线，我们就拿着工具出发了。我们不仅在大路上捡到很多垃圾，还在路边的草地上发现了许多原本不应该出现在这里的东西，比如：塑料袋、卫生纸、冰棒棍、烟头等。

It‘s been a long time since I‘ve done something positive to the environment. Feeling guilty-ridden and determined to do something that I know would definitely please my parents and teachers,I decided to plant several trees on the hill in the rural area of the city on tree planting day with a few friends.

Feeling breezy and light-hearted, we came to the foot of the hill and selected a place that looked suitable and settled down. We spent a few hours digging holes and placing the young seedlings. We took numerous pictures of the beautiful place. We also wrote our wishes and buried it deep down the roots of the trees. I felt tired quickly and though I didn‘t realise it, it was time to go.
