尊敬的斯特凡·迪翁外长，

女士们，先生们，

我和夫人江亦丽博士很高兴在此举办国庆招待会，欢迎大家的到来。

每个人，每个家庭和每个国家都拥有自己的历史。我们都知道中国拥有5000年的悠久历史，但中华人民共和国成立至今仅67年，可以说是相对年轻的国家。但在过去67年里，中国取得了巨大发展成就。1949年，中国的人均国内生产总值(GDP)仅为35美元，现已达到8000美元。中国已成为世界第二大经济体，中等收入人数已超过1亿。中国的发展得益于坚持中国共产党的领导，得益于坚持中国特色社会主义道路，得益于坚持改革开放。

同时，中国的发展离不开世界。去年中国对外贸易总额超过4万亿美元。中国的发展也为世界带来了广阔机遇。两周前，二十国集团(G20)领导人峰会在杭州成功举行。杭州也是电商巨头阿里巴巴总部所在地。G20峰会期间，阿里巴巴执行主席马云异常忙碌。包括特鲁多总理在内的多国领导人参访阿里巴巴，与马云共同探讨如何利用电商平台开拓中国市场。

G20峰会前，特鲁多总理对华进行首次正式访问。迪翁外长随访，我和夫人亦有幸参与接待。访问期间，双方达成诸多成果，包括建立两国总理年度对话机制和高级别国家安全与法治对话机制，加拿大宣布申请加入亚洲基础设施投资银行，双方将2018年定为中加旅游年，加拿大在华增设七个签证申请中心，双方同意加强在气候变化、环境保护、绿色能源等领域的合作以及在国际和地区问题上的协调与配合。双方还签署了50多项商业协议。特鲁多总理及其家人受到中国政府和人民的热情接待。他们游览长城，还同中国篮球巨星姚明一起打球。相信访问之后，特鲁多在中国的粉丝数可能要超过姚明。

今天，我很高兴地宣布，中国总理李克强将于下周正式访问加拿大。两国领导人在短短一月内实现互访十分少见，充分显示了双方对中加关系的高度重视。

朋友们：

在接待完李总理访问后，我将结束在加任期。我们在加拿大度过了2年零4个月的美好时光。我遍访了加拿大13个省区。这里广阔的国土、美丽的风光和独特的多元文化给我留下深刻印象。在Tim Hortons咖啡店，我得知什么是“Double Double”(咖啡中加双份牛奶和双份糖);我明白了不止英国才有名叫“伦敦”的地方;我了解到有一种温暖叫“加拿大鹅”(加拿大知名羽绒服品牌)。我还见证了加拿大的政权交替，以及这一伟大国家“重返”国际舞台。但给我留下最深刻印象的，是友善、热情而慷慨的加拿大人民。

作为大使，我全力推动两国深化合作，增进互信。两年来，我与加方同事们共同探讨自由贸易协定，推动建立中加海上能源走廊并取得积极进展。我见证了人民币清算中心的设立，加拿大加入亚投行，双方互发10年签证以及两国更多直航航线的开通。我们还在多伦多动物园迎来了两只大熊猫幼崽的诞生。

中加都是伟大的国家，但分歧在所难免。我的优先任务之一，就是推动合作，妥处分歧。在我任期内，双方妥善处理了一些敏感问题，从而使双边关系更加稳固。

女士们，先生们：

今天我们取得的成果将为双边关系的下一步发展奠定坚实基础。我对中加关系的美好未来充满信心。相信在双方共同努力下，中加关系不仅会迎头赶上中国与其他西方国家关系的发展，还将再次领跑。

在此，我要感谢加拿大政府、议会、商界、智库、媒体等各界人士为双边关系发展作出的重要贡献。我要特别感谢迪翁外长和加拿大全球事务部给予我们的协助。迪翁外长以他的领导力、智慧和专业精神推动中加关系前行。感谢广大华侨华人，感谢中资企业，他们是中加之间不可或缺的重要桥梁。最后，我要感谢使馆同事们给予我的帮助和支持。他们辛勤工作，以良好的团队精神和专业素养，为双边关系发展不遗余力。

有人说，朋友间莫道“再见”，惟愿“后会有期”。世界并不大，相信我们一定会在某个地方再度重逢。

Today, more and more young people are crazy about western festivals. When western festivals come, they usually go to restaurants or shopping malls to have fun.

如今，越来越多的年轻人都对西方的节日着迷。当西方节日到来的时候，他们常常去餐厅或是商场娱乐。

Why do the young enjoy western festivals so much? Since they worship everything new, and they can’t resist the temptation. In their opinions, western festivals symbolize the fashion, while our Chinese traditional festivals are out of date. No wonder we always feel so boring during our traditional holidays. If we still turn a blind eye to our traditional festivals, our culture and civilization will disappear someday. Accordingly, it is high time for us to pay close attention to our Chinese festivals.

为什么年轻人这么喜爱西方节日呢?大抵是因为他们喜爱新鲜事物，抗拒不了诱惑。在他们看来，西方节日代表着时尚，而中国传统节日则太土了。这也难怪我们也觉得我们的传统节日太过无聊了。如果我们对传统节日漠然置之，那么某天我们的文化文明终会消失。因此，我们该多多关注我们中国自己的节日了。

As a Chinese, we have the obligation to protect our culture and custom. So I think we should celebrate our Chinese festivals by doing some traditional activities. As for western festivals, we needn’t to be too excited about them. We can just send our best wishes to our best friends during those festivals.

作为一名中国人，我们有责任保护自己的文化习俗。所以我认为应当在庆祝中国传统节日时候举办一些传统活动。而对于西方节日，我们不需要太过激动。在这些节日里我们应该只需简单的送上祝福就好。
