没料到父亲回答道：“这皮鞋还能穿，干嘛要丢呢?”面对父亲的回答我有些震惊，“父亲为什么偏要穿着破鞋子呢，再买一双鞋子不好吗?”我想道，但当我打开自己鞋柜的时候，看见满柜子的鞋子，有的还是只穿过两个月就换下来的鞋子，我顿时恍然大悟，父亲的一生都在忙碌，他总给我们的，但总将最差的留给自己。

他上班从早到晚上，回家并没有立刻休息，而是先询问完我的学习情况和检查完我的作业，他才会回房休息，在工作最忙时也不会忘记对我的关心，他就是一位这样的父亲，一位无私而关怀的父亲。

看见父亲破旧的皮鞋，我仿佛看见了父亲劳累的身影，心里不禁涌起了一股暖——这就是父亲的爱。

有一次，我看见父亲拿着他那双破旧的皮鞋跑下楼去，我以为父亲是想把皮鞋扔掉，便偷偷跟在父亲后面，父亲飞快地走下楼梯，走到路边的一个修鞋小摊，把那双破旧的皮鞋放到摊上，对修鞋的老人说：“请帮我修一修，脚底好像坏了。”那位修鞋的老人看了看父亲的鞋说“你这鞋已经很旧了，你为何不买一双新的，每个星期都来这里修鞋也不是办法啊。”父亲笑着说：“没事，只要能穿就行了，不必要再花其他钱。”

面对父亲的回答，那位老人只是叹息一身，连忙把鞋底修好，我看到这一幕，不禁大声说：“父亲，你的鞋子已经很破了，你可以再买一双，家里又不是没钱。”父亲什么都没有说，只是叫我快点回家。

回家后，我看见家里的开支，有一半以上都是我的学费和生活费，我再次被父亲的爱所感动。决定为父亲买一双新鞋，由于钱不够也只能买到一双比较劣质的鞋，但父亲还是将它视为珍宝似的，收藏在他的鞋柜里。

眼前那片绿荫，在风中飘摇，在雨后挺立，不知经过了多少年，大家只知道，太阳烘烤着大地时，是那片绿荫给人清凉;当倾盆大雨从天而降时，是那片绿荫为人们遮风挡雨。那片绿荫总是默默地挺立，默默地奉献。

然而，许多人不知道，在那片绿荫后，有着一个高尚的灵魂，有着一种默默耕耘的精神。创造那片绿荫的是一位默默无闻的小学教师，有一年，贫困的小山村来了一位年轻的女教师，她不是不优秀，也不是家境不好才来这儿的，她是自愿的。她的到来，让孩子们看到了希望。村中的小路是泥水混合、坑坑洼洼的山路。学校是两间风雨摇拽的土坯房，从来没有谁乐意到这里来，她却把这里当成了自己的家，把学生当作了自己的孩子。风雨中，她接送孩子;教室里，她耐心教导学生;操场上，她与学生共欢乐。谁也看不出她只是一个二十岁上下的刚毕业的大学生。她常常为了孩子们的成长而费心，为他们的学习而操劳。无数个晚上，她在灯下写教案、批改批业，向希望工程诉说情况。她要让所有适龄儿童都能接受义务教育，她要改变这里的面貌，让山村富起来。

现在，这里已建起了规范的小学，那些树苗已经长大，而且越来越茂盛，形成了一片绿荫。然而种树人却永远地长眠地下了。
