I am highly disappointed in the proposed 2004-05 budget cuts to educa1ion.

Taking away basic aid status and slashing our school budgets is a recipe for

educational disaster in our school. The future lies with our children. They must

have access to high quality educa1ion.

My husband and I have worked hard to be able to live in a school district

that provides high quality education for our children. Cutting funding in

districts like ours will have a negative impact on property values.

The school that my daughter attends is hardly wha1 I would describe as a

"rich" school. Parents are asked to pay for books for all the classes, science

supplies and for their students to participate in the performing arts among

other items. If our school is to remain a world leader in technological

development, cutting our school funds is the worst possible choice to make.

Education funds should not be diverted away from education.

半小时后，我们一家三口“轻装上阵”……我们要跟着“散客团”一游澳大利亚的首都堪培拉。中国的首都北京繁荣昌盛，堪培拉到底如何？让我娓娓道来！

李导游首先介绍了澳大利亚的由来，只花了10分钟，其中有一个特别有趣的是，没想到，十二个发达的资本主义国家之一的澳大利亚也有一个外号：澳傻！澳州人喜欢把“简单事情复杂化”譬如说吧，有一座山叫国会山，澳洲人把中间挖了，造了6层楼的国会，然后又埋了三层，所以我们现在看到的国会大楼只有三层楼！还有，澳洲人参加了许多战争，但都是与它无关的战争！还冲在第一线！一路上，我们看到了澳大利亚的牛马羊，黑白相间，甚是好看！它们在悠闲地吃草，让人看了很轻松，这，成为了澳大利亚一道美丽的风景线！我们还看到了似变形金刚的擎天柱的货车，酷毙了！

过了三个小时后，我们先来到了堪培拉中的小人国，没啥好看的……所谓的小人国，顾名思义，它以1：12缩小，房子、人民等都是如此。

小人国里到处都是鲜花，各种花儿各种颜色，红的像火、紫的似霞、粉的如钻……它们共同点缀着小人国！当我一到小人国的大门前，仿佛看到了真正的“盒子花园”。小人国里到处都是小房子与小人，一走进“盒子花园”，第一映入眼帘的，就是小人们在房子前的劳动！小人国其实就是一个人造的garden，它带领我们参观了澳大利亚的人民的劳动方式方法，以及各国的大使馆房子模型。

接下来，我们到了造币厂，了解了澳币的一步步发展，还看到了以前的金磅，纯金的哦！看到了现在的金币，可比金榜“beautiful”多了！

继续行驶，我们看了各国的、真正的大使馆。

最有意思的有三国：中国、美国、巴基斯坦。

先说中国吧，我们的祖国是唯一一个有两个大使馆的国家。原因是因为第一个大使馆在造时，因美国的人化作施工的工人潜入，出了问题，于是又重新造了一个。我认为这还是美国帮助了我们，才使我们独一无二，“美国，谢谢你们了！”

再说美国，美国为啥特殊呢？嘿嘿，它只不过是面积比较大而已！地势好而已！

巴基斯坦最搞笑！它造了一个飞机型＋炮弹型的房子，并且－－炮口正对着美国大使馆的大门，好可怜的美国呀！嘻嘻！

还有一个大地方，国会！意思嘛，就是开会的地方。国会大楼好庄严神圣啊！

最后，我们在大喷泉和战争纪念馆拍了照片！

啊！紧张的一天结束了，堪培拉不愧是首都啊！

总结一天，觉得跟团好赶，但不跟吧，英语又不行！以前老人们总是说：“学好数理化，走遍天下都不怕！”可现在中西结合，文理结合，才是王道！
