在上个世纪90年代末开始的高等教育扩招工作，使高等教育大众化程度进一步提高。但是，到了高等学校的层次之后，学生所有的支出都开始提高，高昂的学费，还有学生在校期间的生活费等，都是一笔不小的数字，对于一些供孩子上学入不敷出的贫困家庭同样是个问题，好多学生在拿到大学的录取通知书后却因为高昂的学费不得不放弃了进入大学的机会。

二、当代大学生肩负的历史使命。

大学学校形势与政策教育是高校大学生思想政治教育的重要内容，是提高大学生综合素质、开阔胸怀视野、增强责任感和大局观十分重要的方面，它使我们更深刻地认识了世界，认识了中国，认识了我们与世界的差距，以及我们自身的不足，使我在思想上迈进了一大步，也为我们走出学校进入社会提前上了一课。 社会历史的大发展已决定了个人发展的最大环境、最大上限，制约着可选择度，决定着大学生成功的机率,影响很具体,也很深远.因此，我们应学会认识和把握形势与政策。

(一)、我们应该学会认识世界。

当今世界飞速发展，“两耳不闻窗外事，一心只读圣贤书”的时代过去了。地球村里的变化日新月异。生在当代，作为大学生的我们，岂能做那四角的书柜?抛掉陈旧的观念，拥抱外面精彩的世界，才是我们应该做的。

当今国内外形势风云变幻，进入21世纪的中国正面临着难得的机遇和巨大的挑战，当代大学生也面临着深刻的国内外环境，所以，在高校大学生中广泛开展形势政策教育，对当代大学生如何在纷繁复杂的国内外形势下，正视我国面临的机遇与挑战，坚定信念，振奋精神，努力学习，报效祖国，具有重大的现实价值，与深远的历史意义。

综上所述，作为当代的大学生，我们应该好好把握现在，在现在学好自己的专业知识，学好做人的方法，努力是自己成为一个有文化有素质的人，为祖国的未来添砖加瓦。
