故宫先后居住过明清两代二十四位皇帝，在古代，老百姓是不可以踏入半步的，所以，又称作“紫禁城”。宫殿分为前后两部分，前部俗称“外朝”是皇帝举行盛大典礼的场所。后部是皇帝处理日常政务及后妃们居住的地方。

今天，妈妈带我去参观故宫博物馆。

故宫在古代称作紫禁城，据说房子的屋顶脊兽越多说明等级越高也越尊贵。故宫里太和殿屋顶的脊兽最多有10个。太和殿因地势较高，被烧过24次，因为古代没有避雷针，打雷时引起大火，所以故宫没座房子前有一个金属制的大缸又称吉祥缸，每年冬天吉祥缸里的水会结冰，宫里的太监就把柴火放到缸下烧，把冰融化。

故宫保和殿后有一块200多吨的汉白玉，名字叫“云龙阶石”，在古代没有现代的机械是怎么运到故宫的呢？古人用了10000多名民工和6000多位士兵，还有1000头驴子。古代人很聪明，他们在路上1里打一口井，在冰上拉着汉白玉，就这样过了28天，才拉到京城。

紫禁城里的重要宫殿都铺着金砖，传说一块金砖值一两金子。

台北故宫博物院是中国著名的历史与文化艺术史博物馆。坐落在台北市基隆同北岸士林镇外双溪，始建于1962年，1965年夏落成。为中国宫殿式建筑，共4层，白墙绿瓦。院前广场耸立由6根石柱组成的牌坊，气势宏伟，整座建筑庄重典雅，富有民族特色。院内设有20余间展览室，文化瑰宝不胜枚举。院内收藏有自北京故宫博物院、南京国立中央博物院、沈阳故宫、热河行宫、中国青铜器之乡宝鸡运到台湾的二十四万余件文物，所藏的毛公鼎、钟鼎彝铭等商周青铜器，历代的玉器、陶瓷、古籍文献、名画碑帖等皆为稀世之珍，展馆每三个月更换一次展品。
