Festival is celebrated by boat races (龙舟赛) in the shape of dragons. Competing

teams (竞争团队) row their boats forward to a drumbeat (击古)racing to reach the

The boat races during the Dragon Boat Festival are traditional customs

(传统习俗)to attempts to (试图)rescue (搭救) the patriotic poet (爱国诗人)Chu Yuan. Chu Yuan

drowned (溺死) on the fifth day of the fifth lunar month in 277 B.C. Chinese

citizens now throw bamboo leaves (竹叶) filled with cooked rice into the

water.

雷锋叔叔是一个当之无愧的英雄，也是众所皆知的英雄。雷锋叔叔自幼孤苦无依，长大后他参加了人民解放军。在他平凡短暂的一生，他帮助了不少人。比如：他在公共汽车上，看见有一位老人挤在拥护的人群中，没有座位可坐时，他竟主动让座给那位老人。当他得知某人得了重病时，虽然家庭条件不太好，但是他还是悄悄寄去10元钱。当某些地区发生灾害时，如：地震、旱涝……他也立刻拿出自己所有的积蓄，捐给了受灾地区。还有一次，一位陌生的妇女丢失了孩子，他又帮助她找到了孩子……

当然，不但雷锋叔叔是一个当之无愧的英雄，孔繁森叔叔也是一个例子。比如：他为藏族大娘治病，他恪尽职守，勤政为民、政绩卓越，他到每一地就访贫问苦、宣传党的政策几群众一起收割、打场、挖泥塘。为了西藏人民，他可以献出金钱、鲜血、健康，乃至自己的生命。他还把自己卖血的钱在每次交回乡时分给那些生活贫困的藏族人民……

通过以上的叙述，我们已经了解到他们的伟大行为，也正是这些伟大的行为体现出了他们的伟大精神品质——把自己有限的生命投入到夫限的为人民服务之中去。也许我们知道他们的事迹后，只有轻微地发出一点感慨。但感慨有什么作用呢?我们应该让他们成为我们学习班的榜样，让我们学习他们那种把生命变得更有价值的精神品质。这样，我们既帮助了人们，又能使自己更加快乐。这难道不好吗?
