有一天，在写英语作业的时候，我简直要被这枯燥而又“无味”的英语给弄烦了，我开始想：记单词这么难，难道就没有解决的办法了吗？如果单词记住了，可过了几天又忘了那又怎么办？我带着这两个百思不得其解的问题去请教妈妈，妈妈走到我的书桌旁，看着我已经写了二十多遍的单词，坐下来，语重心长地对我说：“学英语要讲究方法，不能急于求成，要看平时的积累。要是讲到记单词，我告诉你几个窍门儿：

1、写单词的时候要多用心记，写几遍以后要‘回过头’看看对不对，要保证写单词的准确性。

2、记单词要一边念一边写，这样可以加深对单词的印象。

3、记单词要根据发音，把单词分成几截，和已经会背的单词相互对比着记，这样不愁单词记不牢。”我听了，心里顿时豁然开朗。妈妈又开口了：“至于怎么让单词忘不了，那就得天天复习，只有这样才能把单词记牢。儿子，只要你记住这几个窍门，以后的英语单词就不用再犯愁了。”我听了妈妈的话，感觉知识的大门又向我敞开了。我照着妈妈的办法，连续试验了几天，记单词真是顺畅多了，我的英语成绩像发射的火箭一样直线攀升。

现在，我已经成了五年级的学生，但是我还是坚持用这几个窍门儿，它们真是让我受益匪浅。如果没有这几个窍门儿，我的英语成绩不会上升得这么快；如果没有这几个窍门儿，我也不会成为现在我们班的“单词王”；如果没有这几个窍门儿，我更不会有这么大的词汇量。

经过我的不断努力，英语学习现在对我来说已经是小菜一碟了，虽然学英语是个难事，但是我坚信“世上无难事，只怕有心人”！

这个暑假，妈妈出其不意的为我布置了一个难题：学会独立。我望着妈妈，坚定地点了点头，心想：这个暑假我一定能学会独立！

今天爸爸妈妈不在家，爷爷奶奶也回了老家，家里只剩下我独自一人，嘻嘻，这可是我大展身手的好机会啊！说干就干。在卫生间里，我发现了自己满是汗水的睡衣还浸在水里，便把洗睡衣做为了学会独立的第一个目标。我打了一盆清水，把睡衣浸泡在水里，拿起板刷使劲搓起来。接着，我又学着妈妈平时洗衣服的模样，先在睡衣上抹上肥皂，再从睡衣领子开始一段一段地搓，一直搓到底。我不干不知道，一干才晓得：真累啊！只搓了一会儿，就腰酸背疼的了。脸上也流下了不少汗水，我大喘一口气，喝了一杯水，又干了起来。这次，我把盆里的每件衣物又是搓，又是抹上肥皂，忙得不亦乐乎。搓完肥皂，该到洗净的时候了，我把水换了一盆。涮了一遍后，水是浑的，涮了第二遍后水就清亮些了。到第三遍，衣物才算彻底干净。最后，我把衣服一件件拧干，晾在阳台上，才算完成任务。

洗完衣服，我开始合理安排自己的时间，做作业、看书、运动，一切都有条不紊的进行着。许久，抬头一看，已是中午11点，要煮饭了！我跑到厨房，从米缸里舀出一杯米，倒入淘米锅中，再倒入一些清水，用手使劲地捏啊捏，直到水变得浑浊了，再换一盆水。这样的动作重复三遍，米就算淘好了。接着把米倒入电饭锅内，插上电源，就开始煮饭了。利用煮饭的的空档，我拿出昨天晚上吃剩的菜肴，摆在桌上。可是太少了，有了！就做一个番茄炒蛋吧！我洗好锅，倒入少量的油，再把事先打好的蛋倒入锅内。等到蛋熟透了，再把切好的番茄和葱倒下去，翻炒几下。一盘香喷喷的蛋炒饭就出炉了！

傍晚，爸爸妈妈工作一定很辛苦，我就再实战一下自己的厨艺。爸爸妈妈一回来，闻到房间里四处飘着米饭的香味，就夸奖我：“千千，长大了！”我听着爸爸妈妈对我的夸奖，心里喜滋滋的。

The college life is wonderful. All life in school are fresh. New teachers, new CLASSmates and fresh friends are around me。 The grand library, school buildings and wide playground are very attracting to me. I am very eager to learn much knowledge quickly. As we know, many people favor the idea that the college life is free and

comfortable, but I’d like to say it’s not true. As a matter of fact, my life in

university is so busy that I wonder if my energy is enough. As to my college

life, I divide it into four parts, including study, student activities, library

and the others.

Firstly, I want to talk about the study. In my opinion, study is the

priority in college. When I received the letter of admission in summer, I knew

clearly that what I should do. So I make up my mind to study hard and pursue

learning as much as possible. I’m greatly convinced that knowledge can change my

life. Therefore, I often go to the quiet study room where many people study

there. By working so hard, I get good grades in the exams.

Secondly, student activities play an important role in our college life. To

be honest, the student Union is a good place where one can develop social

skills, get his abilities trained. I take part in many student activities. For

example, I’ m a volunteer, teaching the kids to learn to dance and write. I

think it’s meaningful for everyone to give a hand to others. I can also do some

jobs in the Student Union, including receiving and sending fast mail, selling

papers and magazines. I think they’re unforgettable and worthwhile experiences

for me.

Thirdly, I also visit the library constantly. It’s said that “shelves of

books, oceans of knowledge”, so I read books that I’m interested in. In this

way, I can share stories with my new friends and it also changes my horizons

.When I’m sad, lost or in trouble, staying the library makes me quiet and

comfortable. After all, every life has bad moments as well as good ones, and the

library for me is a support in bad moments. So it’s wise choice for me to stay

in the library.

Finally, I often do other things in my spare time. In order to alleviate

parents’ burden, I often do some part-time jobs and write some articles to earn

money. It helps me to be independent and improve my social skills.

In short, my life in university is busy but valuable. You can see that

study brings me knowledge, student activities improve myself, library changes my

horizons, the others things make me independent. They get all my abilities

trained. And I see that the chance will come only if you have a prepared mind,

so I’m sure that I can achieve my dreams in college life.

今天是重要的一天，老师让我们在学校门口把保险费交了，说非常重要，一定不要忘记。

中午，我刚吃完饭，就催着妈妈送我上学，可是妈妈非要休息一个小时再送我上学，我没有办法，只好妥协。妈妈睡着之后我翻来覆去睡不着，只好找了一本书，开始读了起来。时间过得真慢啊，时针在上面转一圈难道就那么难吗?等着等着我就睡着了。我醒来之后，发现已经两点了，就赶忙穿上衣服，把妈妈叫醒，就风风火火的出发了。

到了那里之后，人还并不是太多，我向妈妈要了五十元，就让妈妈走了，我怀着忐忑不安的心情，走向了收钱的地方，我伸手就把五十元钱放在了桌子上，收钱的是一位女性，她问我叫什么名字，我就把我的名字告诉了她，然后我又把监护人姓名和身份证号，性别告诉了她。

说完了之后，她就给我了一张纸条，让我交给老师，然后我慢慢地走了，我刚一离开，就开门了，我慢慢走了进去不一会就到了教室门口，我把纸条交给了老师，让后坐在座位上开始读书。

我心里想，已经到了六年级了，要是再不独立，我就比不上别人家的孩子了，就这样我交了钱，直到现在拿好像还是一场梦呢?

独立这次对我来说并不陌生，因为我在书中看到许多美国的孩子，自己挣学费，到十八岁的时候就自己出去闯荡，成就一番事业。我们中国的孩子就是不能独立，所以才没有超过美国。我们中国的孩子并不比美国的孩子差，所以我们也要学会独立，让我们在独立中慢慢的学会许多的东西，成我有作为的人，让我们以后不再依靠父母，自己做一番事业吧!

徐特立曾说过：“任何人都应该有自尊心、自信心、独立性，不然就是奴才。但自尊不是轻人，自信不是自满，独立不是孤立。”

在我小的时候，我的亲人就经常夸奖我说：“你是一个能独立自主的好孩子!”事实证明我是像他们说的一样。

早上，妈妈早早的出去上班，我只能自己做早饭，每次，我都会多做一点，留给妈妈好让她中午回来，自己热一热就可以吃了。虽然我已经能独立了，但还是不够。我要更加努力，做得更好，在妈妈和爸爸出门后做一个小管家。

he was so addicted to tobacco that he couldnt even skip acigarette in the corridor at the interval between two classes. due to the long time consumption of cigarettes, his teeth had gone totally bad and occasionally let off unpleasant smell which really disturbed us when we were talking to him. at times, he came to recognize it and consequently found out a solution. he suggested we write down our problems and he answer them in the written form. although i knew all along that he was a careful man, his quotations of five different dictionaries on a single multiple choice problem was still beyond my wildest dream.

whats more, none of us could imagine how ecellent his ancient chinese literature was. what he tended to do in his class was to recite several segments of the famous ancient prose and then put them into english. however, under the pressure of college entrance eam, the students didnt seem to be so interested in his performance. therefore, he tried to stimulate the class by editions of times as prizes for answering questions. it worked on us instantly.

on the day of the entrance eam, he waited nervously with us out of the eamination room. he kept reminding us not to drink water in case that we would feel like going to toilet during the eam. not withstanding his constant claims that we students were far less important than his beloved daughter, we did feel his devotion to us.

Whats more， I worked for Quanfeng Group as a intern overseascustomers quality engineer this summer. I learned a lot about quality control， quality assurance， quality standard like ISO and EU. Last but not least， I also learned al ot more from custmers and designing engineers.

You know the overseas cusomers quality engineer requires the person who have excellent communication skills and proficient English skills to work with our overseas customers and engineers. Although sometimes its hard to solve the disputes， but it really helps me to build up my communication skills ， capabilities and oral English.

As a sophomore， I am feeling the time flies. Recalling about the past one year， so many thoughts are flooding in my mind. At this time， I just can’t tell my real idea. The memory is just like so fresh， and all the things happened yesterday!

When first day I came to University， I really feel that the school is very good， but at the first sight of the dormitory， something disappointing come up to me! The condition of the dormitory is really very poor with only one room， no lavatory! I saw something sad in my father’s eyes， maybe that time he thought of the poor condition! So with a big smile on my face， I told my father” it doesn’t matter， Dad. In this kind of condition， I will get myself better!” My father felt better. But when he was coming back， seeing his back， I just wanted to cry! I felt in this city I was just isolated， from that time， I said to myself， “ you have no others who can help you here， just depend on yourself”

And then I came to my dormitory 303. I considered that I would spend four years here (in fact I moved to another one year later) and my dorm mates are all there. Most of them came from Sichuan and they were chatting with a happy voice， but I can’t understand them! Again， I felt myself isolated! I hated that kind of feeling， and then I said to hello to them! To my surprise they are very friendly to me and warm-hearted! I no longer felt afraid. And I got along well with them. But at the first night here， I burst out to tears for that I was missing my family. I don’t know why. Everyday when I was at home， I was just eager to go to school， to experience the wonderful college life but when coming here， I am just eager to go back! It’s quite strange though， you must know this kind of feeling!

Just spending about 2 days here， we were on our way to military train. To us， it’s a fresh train and a kind of experience to know the life between the classmates. But to me， I was nervous but excited. This was my first and precious train life because before going to school I have been staying with my family. So， you know， it’s just this kind of feeling I can’t convey it clearly! The train life is impressive on everybody; we had a lot of activities， for example giving a speech on a stage or singing together or playing basketball. At that time， I felt myself so little among them. All of them have a special talent but not me. I admired them but meanwhile jealousy. Why don’t I have this kind of talent? Am I stupid? I always said to myself. So that time I was also very ambitious， just eager to catch up with them. Except the classmates， the trainer in our team also left a deep impression on me! He was not very handsome and very kind. Just because of his kindness results in my laughter when training. He always said to me that I should be serious in the team but I didn’t listen to him. So after a long time， when investigating the training result， I gave them a disappointing answer.

作为一个二年级学生,我感觉时间过得真快,回忆过去的一年,很多想法都是洪水在我的脑海里。在这个时候,我不能告诉我真正的想法。记忆就像新鲜的,和昨天发生的一切!

当我第一天来到大学,我真的觉得学校很好,但是一见钟情的宿舍,令人失望的东西来我!宿舍的条件真的很穷,只有一个房间,没有厕所!我看到了一些悲伤在我父亲的眼睛,也许那时他想到可怜的条件!一个大的微笑在我的脸上,我告诉我的父亲“没关系,爸爸。在这种情况下,我会让自己更好!“我父亲感觉好多了。但当他回来时,看到他回来,我只是想哭!我觉得在这个城市我只是孤立的,从那个时候,我对自己说,“你没有其他人可以帮助你在这里,只是依靠你自己”

然后我来到我的宿舍303。我认为我会花四年时间在这里(事实上我搬到另一个一年后)和我的室友都在那。他们中的大多数来自四川和他们聊天开心的声音,但是我不能理解他们!再一次,我觉得自己孤立!我讨厌那样的感觉,然后我向他们说你好!让我惊讶的是他们对我很友好和热心的!我不再感到害怕,我和他们相处得很好。但是在这里的第一个晚上,我突然的眼泪,我不见了我的家人,我不知道为什么。每天我在家里的时候,我只是渴望上学,体验精彩的大学生活,但当来到这里,我只是想回去!不过,很奇怪你必须知道这种感觉!

支出约2天在这里,我们在军事训练。对我们来说,这是一个新鲜的火车和一种经验知道同学之间的生活。但对我来说,我又紧张又兴奋。这是我第一次和珍贵的训练生活,因为在上学之前我一直跟我的家人住在一起。所以,你知道,只是这种感觉我不能表达清楚!火车生活是令人印象深刻的大家,我们有很多的活动,例如演讲舞台上一起唱歌或者打篮球。当时,我觉得自己这么少。他们都有一种特别的天赋,但不是我。我敬佩他们,但与此同时嫉妒。为什么不给我这样的人才吗?我是愚蠢的吗?我总是对自己说,所以这段时间我也非常雄心勃勃的,只是渴望赶上他们。除了同学,我们团队的教练也给我留下了深刻的印象!他不是非常英俊,非常善良。仅仅因为他的善良的结果在我的笑声训练。他总是对我说,我应该在团队严重但我没有听他的。所以很长一段时间后,调查培训结果的时候,我给了他们一个令人失望的答案。

Responsibility is a valuable quality, most people lose it when they chase for fame and reputation. Without responsibility, there will be no trust between people, in that case, there is no way to build a harmonious society. On my opinion, everyone should be responsible to themselves, at the same time, they need to responsible to others, too.

责任是一种很可贵的品质，大多数人在追名逐利的过程中失去了责任感。没有责任，人们之间就没有信任，这样一来，就没有办法建立一个和谐的社会。在我看来，每个人都应该对自己负责，同时，他们也需要对别人负责。

On the one hand, people should be responsible to themselves. We need to take care of our own physical safety and emotional wellbeing, in this way, we can make ourselves live happily. Some people become frustrated when they meet setbacks, they just give up themselves, hurting their bodies. This is very irresponsible to themselves, one shall be good to himself, so he can take let others happy.

一方面，人们应该对自己负责。我们需要照顾好自己的人身安全和情感的健康，这样一来，我们可以让自己活得快乐。一些人在遇到挫折后变得灰心丧气，伤害自己的身体。这是对自己非常不负责任的，一个人应该对自己好点，这样他就能让其他人开心。

On the other hand, besides taking care of ourselves, we must also learn how to show responsibility to others. There was a news about a bus driver, he died of heart attack when he was driving a bus, he let the bus stopped at the sidewalk and then died. The bus driver shows us what is responsibility to others, he saved many peoples lives. Our responsibility to others helps us win peoples respect.

另外一方面，除了照顾好我们自己，我们也必须学着对别人负责人。有一则关于巴士司机的新闻，讲的是他在开车的时候死于心脏病，他在死前把巴士停到了人行道上。这个巴士司机给我们展示了对别人的责任是什么，他挽救了很多人的生命。我们对别人的责任让我们赢得了别人的尊重。

In conclusion, responsibility is of great importance, we should not only be responsible to ourselves, but also to others, we can create a harmonious world.

总的来说，责任很重要，我们不仅仅要对自己负责，也要对别人负责，我们可以创造一个和谐的世界。

今天，如果诸位期待着我给讲一讲获得诺贝尔奖的秘诀是什么，我想大家会失望的。我要告诉你们的是我在生活中遇到的一些事情，首先介绍几个非常重要的事实。

我的父亲是教师，所以我们一家人都非常善于学习，因为我们认为学习比拥有更多的金钱更重要。在我们家里，至高无上的理想就是“学习学习再学习”，最后成为一名科学家。

对于你们任何人来说，生活当中最为重要的事情之一，就是你们的家庭、你们的父母所能灌输给你们的理想或者人生目标。如果你们的家人、你们的父母希望你们赚很多的钱，那么你肯定成不了科学家。

同样也非常重要的是，在你生活的某些特定阶段，你必须有很好的老师。他必须知道你是什么样的人，你能做些什么，而且他能够引导你朝着这个方向努力。

我在中学时代，大概14岁或15岁的时候，有幸遇到了一个非常好的老师，他引导和教育我走上了科学的道路。

我给大家讲这两个例子是想说明拥有好老师的重要性。今天早晨有人问我，为什么中国人这么多，获得诺贝尔奖的人却特别少，而荷兰这么一个小国家，竟有不少人获得了诺贝尔奖。我觉得，必须要有好的中学，好的中学里要有好的老师，这很重要。只要这个条件具备了，其他的也就水到渠成了。

在大学里遇到好教授对一个人的成长也是非常重要的，但不像在中学时代遇到好老师那么重要。1948年我进入大学学习，当时因为刚刚经历第二次世界大战，大学里几乎没有什么好老师。我在大学待了5年，竟然没有碰到一个好老师。没有人讲相对论和量子力学，所以我在这两个方面没有得到任何人的指导。

战争使得我们所有的研究机构都变成了废墟，即便有很好的老师，他们要么已经离开了荷兰，要么就是在战争中死去了。大家可以想象一下，我当时也就20来岁，虽然清楚自己想要达到一个什么样的成绩，但却没有人在这方面给予我指导。于是我只好自学。

我开始做科学研究的时候，一个很大的问题是好的人才非常少。不仅是荷兰，整个欧洲都存在这个问题。战后10~15年欧洲在学术方面的情况都相当糟糕。当时在物理学领域占主导地位的是美国人，因为“二战”中美国遭受的损失相对来说不是很大。

那么，欧洲是如何解决人才稀缺问题的呢?是靠开办一些夏季学校解决的。夏季学校是为期很短的学校，有的是3周，有的则是两个月。我们会到各地去游学，比如当年我就去过奥地利、苏格兰和法国。授课的是来自世界各国的老师，其中很多人来自美国。他们可以很好地给我们教授一些物理学知识。正是在第二次进入夏季学校时，我遇到了一些非常好的老师，并找到了让我付诸一生来研究的课题。

真正从事科研工作之后，很重要的一点就是你必须和其他国家的研究人员交流。不然的话，你孤身作战，往往不知道什么问题重要，什么问题不那么重要。

对于一个科学家来说，首要的一点是独立地思考，另外也要跟踪世界其他地方所发生的事情，不能孤陋寡闻。就拿我来说吧，我的同行在世界上其他地方所做的一些最新实验的结果，我总是知道的。今天在日内瓦出现一部新的机器，或在别的地方有人提出了新的想法，我也会马上知道。

成功实际上没有一个固定的一成不变的规则。曾有人问一位著名的科学家：所有的诺贝尔获得者有什么样的共同点?他回答说：什么共同点都没有，连智力上都没有共同点。我想告诉大家，诺贝尔奖获得者的智力也是不均等的，他们也不都是很聪明。成功由很多因素造就，关键在于你必须是一个独立思考的人。当然，如果你聪明的话那就更好了。

我在中学时代并不是个好学生，毕业成绩也就刚刚过线。为什么呢?因为我必须要学很多我不感兴趣的东西，比如当时上的那所中学就让我们学4门语言，还有一些我现在都记不得是什么东西的学科。

对于目前的中国来说，非常重要的就是有一个很好的教育体系。我觉得很多中国人实际上具有成为顶尖科学家的潜质。日本人已经下决心在未来10~20年当中能够有20个人拿诺贝尔奖，今年一下就出了3个日本籍的诺贝尔奖获得者。日本有很好的教育体系，他们积极参加一些国际会议，这才是发展的道理。
