In the earlier times, when Christians were persecuted, they were not allowed to practice prayers. Hence, a single candle used to be placed outside the house as a sign that Christian prayers were being conducted inside.

This is one of the most wonderful traditions of all. Christmas candies are distributed to neighbors during the Yuletide season. Onthe day of Christmas, all misunderstandings and grudges are forgotten and the community comes together to celebrate the birth of Christ.

Today is a festival worth celebrating. Christmas is certainly not without Santa Claus and Christmas presents. I think Christmas is a day for children. Today, children will "binge". They will travel and play.

I like the Christmas hat. Its red. There are gifts every Christmas. Of course, there is invisibility, which is happiness. If you are happy today, you will be blessed.

Today, I want to receive a Christmas present, of course, a baby bear and a Santa Claus. I like it very much. This wish, I realized. Mom bought it for me. She saw through my heart.

I also want to give every child in the welfare home a Santa Claus, but this can only happen when I grow up.

This afternoon, we went to the Chinese supermarket. There was Santa at the door handing out candy, of course. Walking into the supermarket, there was a tall Christmas tree with bells and flashing lights. It also has CARDS, of course, a blessing for people.

Christmas is a day to celebrate and a time to cheer!!

On Christmas morning， the children wake up very early. Some even turn on the light at two o‘clock， and most of them are awake by six o’clock although it is not light in England for another hour or two at this time of the year.

Children look for their presents ， and the young ones play while the dinner is prepared. At about one o‘clock in the afternoon， the Christmas dinner is brought in . The turkey or chicken is quickly eaten . Children search in their Christmas pudding for new coins which are hidden in it . The rest of the day is full of games and eating until the happiest of all Christmas hollidays comes to an end.

后来，古罗马人归信基督后，就把十二月廿五日，改为敬拜那万福之源，生命之光的耶稣。所以，在这段最黑和最寒冷的时间，庆祝圣诞并不令人意外，因为神把耶稣的光和温暖送给我们。让我们在圣诞节，相信耶稣，接纳他十架代死之功，使自己与神和好，得著他所赐的新生命!

圣诞老人

圣尼古拉，是历史上真正的「圣诞老人」。他于公元二百八十年，生于小亚细亚一个富有家庭。他幼年时失去了双亲，后来成为一位传道人。他曾做过主教，也曾为持守信仰而入狱。他是最出名的「慈善家」，最爱施舍金钱或物品，帮助有需要的人。

传说中他会穿上特别的衣服，在街上把礼物送给穷苦的孩子。据说圣尼古拉于公元三百四十三年去世，但很多小孩子相信他仍然活著，而且，在圣诞节会以送礼物给他们，来庆祝耶稣基督降生。

圣诞袜

很多家庭在圣诞节期间，挂上特别的袜子。这袜与圣尼古拉(圣诞老人)有关。据说尼古拉要帮助一位父亲，为他女儿预备嫁妆，他把一袋金子，从窗口掷入他们的家。那位女儿正把袜挂起来弄乾，那袋金子刚好跌进袜子里。

圣诞礼物

圣诞节人们互相送礼物，是因为神赐给世人最宝贵的礼物──他的独生子耶稣基督。因此人们欢欣鼓舞，并为了纪念神的爱，而互相送礼表示爱心。

但在这个物质主义的时代，商人利用圣诞节来赚钱。而人们特别是小孩子，想起圣诞节多会想起「收礼物」。但圣经说：「施比受更为有福」，如果我们送礼物的目的，是为了表示爱心关怀，那是很好的，应该多多的送礼物。但为「送礼而送礼」，那就不必了。

圣诞装饰

圣诞装饰，大多有它们的意义：灯代表基督是世界之光;绿色的常青树、冬青树和槲寄生作为圣诞树，代表耶稣带给我们的生命;而基督教的象徵──天使和星星，使这些树更突出。而每一种树，也有它们不同的意义：香柏树代表耶稣王的身分;冬青树锋利的尖端和红橘子，代表基督钉死在十字架上。

冬天在五时左右就天黑了，当您把圣诞灯饰亮起时，请记著耶稣把光和神的生命带进黑暗的生命中。

基督象徵树(ChrismonTree)

有些教会，以「基督象徵树」代替圣诞树。基督象徵树，由美国维吉尼亚州的信义会发起，「基督象徵树」与普通圣诞树的分别是，它挂的是象徵耶诞基督的装饰物。灯全都是白色的，这树只有白色和金色，白色代表耶稣的圣洁，金色代表基督王的身分。

十二天圣诞节

「十二天圣诞节」指由圣诞节计起的十二天。世人以十二小时(半日)的时间，庆祝基督的降生;教会则以十二日来庆祝，因为基督是一年十二个月都与我们一起的。

基督降临节

圣诞节前的四个星期，称为「基督降临节」，用以筹备庆祝耶稣基督的降生。旧约圣经(耶稣出生前)预言，神会差遣弥赛亚(即救世主)来世界，新约圣经(耶稣出生后)预言耶稣会再回来。

圣诞士的糖

传说士的糖，是由一位希望见证耶稣的糖果商人发明的。士的糖是硬的，正如耶稣基督是万古的磐石;「J」形的糖身，代表耶稣(Jesus)头一个字母或牧羊人的杖;白色代表耶稣的纯洁;红色的纹代表基督为我们的罪流血，另外三条较细小的红纹，是他为我们所受的鞭痕;有些士的糖有绿色的纹，这代表耶稣是神给我们的礼物。士的糖是用薄荷做的，因薄荷是牛膝草类(耶稣钉在十字架上时，兵丁以海绒浸了酸酒，绑在牛膝草上，送到他唇边)，而且牛膝草代表洁净和牺牲。耶稣是纯洁的羔羊，他来为世人的罪牺牲。

下次你见到士的糖时，请记住：耶稣基督是我们的好牧人，他是万古磐石，他并没有犯罪，但舍身流血为我们赎罪，使信他的人得永生!

Christmas is coming, this afternoon, my mother and I happily go to the century lianhua supermarket to buy the Christmas tree.

Arrived there, we as the crowds took the elevator to the second floor. Hits the green Christmas tree in front of our eyes, also on the cabinet next to the filled up with beautiful Christmas gifts, let a person see more dazzling.

My mother and I chose a Christmas tree, first it is taller than I still high! Then, we began to carefully selected some beautiful accessories to decorate the Christmas tree. I have chosen a beautiful big five-pointed star, the silver is outside, the inside is pink, in the middle with gold embroidered with English "merry Christmas", looks like the shining; I chose a golden circle again, its here are a few green leaf, green leaves in the middle of the two shiny small red fruits and a beautiful little red flowers. Mother picked out a bunch of red grapes, there is a yellow bow, crystal grapes can radiate the smiling faces of my mother and I. We also chose a lovely Christmas snowman, red printing small fan, three pieces of foam white snowflakes and a box of colorful flash.

After paid the money, we celebrate. Got home, I was eager to expand on the Christmas tree branches and leaves, the beautiful and lovely small hang on the tree. Mother put flash around the Christmas tree, turned on the electricity, ah! Colorful "stars" sleep.magic blinked his beautiful small eyes, a red, green, yellow, a colorful... Like playing hide and seek with me! They adorn the the tree more beautiful.

Looked at his dress up the Christmas tree, my heart very happy, my mother and I sing and dance at the tree, happy!

圣诞节快到了，今天下午，我和妈妈兴高采烈地到世纪联华超市去买圣诞树。

到了那儿，我们随着拥挤的人群乘电梯来到二楼。一棵棵碧绿的圣诞树呈现在我们的眼前，旁边的柜子上还摆满了精美的圣诞礼物，让人看得眼花缭乱。

我和妈妈先选了一棵圣诞树，它的个子比我还高呢!接着，我们开始精心挑选一些精美的小挂件来装饰这棵圣诞树。我选了一颗漂亮的大五角星，外面是银白色的，里面是桃红色的，中间用金丝绣着英文“圣诞快乐”，看上去像在闪闪发光;我又选了一个金黄色的圈儿，它的下面有几片绿叶，绿叶的中间有两颗亮晶晶的小红果和一朵美丽的小红花。妈妈挑了一串鲜红的葡萄，上面有一个黄色的蝴蝶结，晶亮的葡萄能映出我和妈妈的笑脸。我们还选了一个可爱的圣诞小雪人、火红的印花小扇、三片洁白的泡沫雪花片和一盒七彩闪灯。

付了钱以后，我们满载而归。一到家，我就迫不及待地展开圣诞树上的枝叶，将这些漂亮可爱的小挂件挂到树上。妈妈把闪灯绕在圣诞树上，接通了电源，啊!五颜六色的“星星”调皮地眨着美丽的小眼睛，一会儿红，一会儿绿，一会儿黄，一会儿五彩缤纷……像在和我捉迷藏呢!它们把这棵树点缀得更加美丽了。

看着自己打扮的圣诞树，我的心里特别高兴，我和妈妈在树旁又唱又跳，开心极了!

Christmas is a time for miracles

Christmas is a time for miracles.It is also a time when the dull things of daily life and the forecast of human hature gives way to a spiritual awakening.Allow me to share with you one truly wonder of Christmas.

Our miracle story comes from an incident that occurred in Flanders, Belgium, at the dawn of World War I. On December 24th ,1914, German and English troops faced each other from the relative safety of their ditches across which no mans land lying between them. Suddenly, the silence was broken, not by gunfire, but by the strains of Silent Night arising from the German position. It wasnt long before the English troops responded with a Yuletide hymn of their own. Then an amazing sight surprised the eyes of the English soldiers. A German soldier holding a small tree arranged with lighted candles began to walk across the land toward the English lines. This miraculous scene occasioned the declaration of a truce followed by English and German troops greeting one another, exchanging small gifts and singing songs of Christmas. Word of this incredible phenomenon reached the High Command of both sides.

On Christmas Day, both armies moved from their positions to engage in the killing of war at other battlefields. However, on Christmas Eve 1914 on a field in Flanders, there was Peace on Earth.

Christmas is a truly amazing phenomenon. The day and season perpetuate a miraculous, historical event as an annual presence that challenges an often rough, cruel, and egotistical creature -- the human being -- to become open and amenable to their Creators vision. The great miracle of Christmas continues in the performance of humane acts, moral honesty, and in the spiritual awareness of millions struggling to lead a life of grace.
