I also recognize that although the sins of our Founding Fathers were great, their accomplishments were greater, leaving a legacy of democracy and national sovereignty that would spread like wildfire throughout the world. The revolution was important and the ideals that this country was founded on, ideals of equality, respect for one another, and a commitment to progress, are ideals to be proud of, even if we don’t always live up to those ideals. I know many liberals hate to hear it, but the majority of the world is worse off than us, from third world countries to dictatorships, the world has got a lot of bad in it. And the much longer, more troubled histories of nations such as England have more mistakes and terrible acts in them than ours do. America has ideals and a commitment to democracy and freedom you can find nowhere else. Our spirit is strong and even if our government doesn’t live up to that spirit all the time, our citizens strive for it. Independence Day isn’t about petty squabbles and historical smear campaigns. This day is about celebrating our achievements and our ideals, acknowledging our mistakes, and reaffirming our commitment to make this country better so that, one day, those principles that the men who drafted our Declaration of Independence put forth, will be fully realized.

写个人陈述的最大忌讳就是写得毫无特色、枯燥乏味。要努力发掘你的优秀之处，醒目且引起关注。

精彩的开头给人留下不可磨灭的印象，那就达到了最佳效果。获得独特性更重要的有两个方法：一是寻找独特的思想方法或者说审视自己的独特角度，二是在陈述过程采用故事手法。

所谓“故事”就是要有一点生动的情节。除了思想角度外，生动的情节是表现个性和独特性的又一法宝。许许多多的人可以有类似的经历和背景，但他们生命中的具体经历一定具有独特的场景。恰当地描绘一下这样的场景，就会使全文散发出生动而新鲜的气息。

1.千万不要遗漏掉那些有用的和中肯的成就、经验等事实。

Three hundred years ago,the emigrants from England arrived at Maryland acrossing the Atlantic by "May Flower" to search for a "pure"land for the puritans to live.Since then American Dream has come up.America gives every person all over the world equal rights.people can achieve their dreams by hardworking.

Three hundred years later,this country has become a rich state.However,American Dream doesnt fade away.With the development of the history,it has many meanings today.What is the American Dream?different people hold different interpretations.but at any rate,American Dream contains several factors below:America offers every person an opportunity to succeed;Success depends on ones ability and effort regardless of the fortuitous circumstances of birth or position;Every person has equal rights;Every person has free belief.

When it comes to the 21st century-the information age,Bill Gatess success indicated that only if you have wisdom and talent,you can succeed in America.But American Dream has changed,compared with its original meanings.Whats the true motivation behind American Dream?Some historians considered it the thirst for wealth .Pursuing money is the eternal theme of American Dream.However,the over pursuit of wealth makes American Dream turn bad and lost its attraction to people worldwide gradually.

As the changes of the times,the influence of American Dream may become less and less.An increasing number of people confess to having lost faith in the American Dream.

Yingying is a hardworking,conscientious and cheerful student. I had her in my advanced writing class in the spring of 2008 at Sierra College in Rocklin, California. In ESL W30, a composition course, she showed steady improvement and up to now has a grade of A. Her essays are among the best in the class. She works hard and seems motivated to do her best.

Being conscientious,she never missed class. All her out of class essays were typed and she turned in each homework assignment on time, I am also the faculty of record for the ESL computer lab,so have observed her practicing grammar exericises for a couple of hours each week.

Being a cheerful student, her presence in class is appreciated. It seems like she is always smiling and willing to help other students. she joins in group and class discussions: her comments are well thought out and eagerly offered.

I would anticipate that she would have few problems academically in her further studies as she naturally intelligent and strives to be the top in the class. Socially, she is friendly,cheerful and helpful and should be able to fit in well wherever she chooses to study. I would recommend Yingying very highly!

Independence Day is a day of family celebrations with picnics and barbecues,showing a great deal of emphasis on the American tradition of political freedom.Activities associated with the day include watermelon or hotdog eating competitions and sporting events,such as baseball games,three-legged races,swimming activities and tug-of-war games.

Many people display the American flag outside their homes or buildings.Many communities arrange fireworks that are often accompanied by patriotic music.The most impressive fireworks are shown on television.Some employees use one or more of their vacation days to create a long weekend so that they can escape the heat at their favorite beach or vacation spot.

Independence Day is a patriotic holiday for celebrating the positive aspects of the United States.Many politicians appear at public events to show their support for the history,heritage and people of their country.Above all,people in the United States express and give thanks for the freedom and liberties fought by the first generation of many of todays Americans.The Statue of Liberty is a national monument that is associated with Independence Day.

The first description of how Independence Day would be celebrated was in a letter from John Adams to his wife Abigail on July 3,1776.He described "pomp and parade,with shows,games,sports,guns,bells,bonfires,and illuminations" throughout the United States.However,the term "Independence Day" was not used until 1791.

“I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America,and to the Republic for which it stands.One nation under God,indivisible,with liberty and justice for all.”
