记得那是我上小学五年级的时候，一天，随着铃声响起，老师领着一个身材矮胖，深陷的眼窝里忽闪着一对乌亮活泼的眼睛，小鼻子倔强地翘着，而那两片厚厚的嘴唇又使人觉得他是多么的憨厚善良。老师向大家介绍说：“这是从外校调来的李厚同学”。大伙听后不约而同地笑了，也许觉得他名副其实吧。由于个头较矮，被安排与我坐同桌。我友好地向他打了声招呼，他冲我微笑着，微笑中带着几分腼腆和憨厚。我想：与这么个厚道家伙坐一起，倒也是我的福分。但一件小事使我真正认识了他。

那是在一次学校举办的数学竞赛中，听老师讲其中有部分难题。主要是考察学生的知识掌握情况和灵活运用能力。当时我接到卷子后，先滤了一遍，觉得没什么难题，心中暗喜。立即埋头作了起来。但好景不长，当我作到最后一道题时，按自己的思路怎么也解不出来。涂了改，改了涂。思绪越缕越乱。几个回合下来，急得我出了一身汗，但还是无济于事。这时传来老师的声音：“请同学们抓紧时间，还有五分钟就到交卷时间了”。怎么，今天的时间怎么过的这么快。这时我看到李厚正在整理着试卷，脸上露出胸有成竹的表情。我灵机一动想：他平时的基础很扎实，何不看看他的。于是我碰碰他，朝他的卷子扬扬下额。可他好像什么反映都没有，收拾起卷子转身交给了老师。我心里这个气呀，好小子，看你好像多么厚道，关键时刻不帮助好朋友。交完卷子，他欲向我解释，我瞪了他一眼，将头扭到另一边去了。

两天后卷子发下来了，看着他比我高出许多的成绩，我心里颇不是滋味。不知是生气还是嫉妒。就是这种不良情绪导致我做了不该做的事。我知道每次试卷都要让家长签字后再交给老师。于是我趁他下课出去时，将他的卷子偷偷藏起，让他明天无法交待。没想到，这下可害苦了他。他不但受到老师的严肃批评，而且还利用午饭时间将卷子重抄重作。我看着他午饭也没吃好，赶了得满头大汗，但他仍然很踏实地做着每一道题。我的心里油然而升一种佩服和内疚。于是我鼓足了勇气向他承认了错误，他不但没有生气，而且还仔细地讲解了那道难题。通过这件事深深地教育了我，也使我真正了解了他。

从那以后，我与李厚在学习上互帮互助，下课时常听到我俩欢快的笑声，我们之间逐渐建立起浓厚的友谊。我真心的希望我们的友谊长在，在成长的道路上伴随着我直到永远。
