有痛才有希望，在于疼痛能使人奋起。勾践饱受卧心藏胆的疼痛，终于君子报仇;苏秦受尽尖椎刺骨的疼痛，终于游说成功;左思忍受冷言冷语的疼痛，终于洛阳纸贵。他们的奋起源于他们的疼痛，他们的疼痛造就了他们的未来。

有痛才有希望，在于疼痛能使人重生。落第失意的张继，痛苦万分，但他在文学的殿堂获得重生;双腿残废的史铁生，悲痛欲绝，但他在平平的书架上站了起来;两耳失聪的贝多芬，痛不欲生，但他在音乐的领土上获得新生;当疼痛将他们赶入绝境时，他们“陷之死地而后生置之亡地而后存”，走出了疼痛的缠绕，成就了自己。

有痛才有希望，在于疼痛能使人超越自我。苏武牧羊北海有十余载，那是一种气节的象征;布路诺葬身火海，那是一种真理的追求;海子卧轨而死，那是对生活的热爱。在疼痛悄然而至的时候，他们超越了自我，实现了自己，于是希望也永不磨灭。
