The 15-Day Celebration of Chinese New Year

The first day of the Lunar New Year is the welcoming of the gods of the heavens and earth.Many people abstain from meat on the first day of the new year because it is believed that this will ensure long and happy lives for them.

On the second day, the Chinese pray to their ancestors as well as to all the gods. They are extra kind to dogs and feed them well as it is believed that the second day is the birthday of all dogs.

On the eighth day the Fujian people have another family reunion dinner, and at midnight they pray to Tian Gong, the God of Heaven.

The ninth day is to make offerings to the Jade Emperor.

The 10th through the 12th are days that friends and relatives should be invited for dinner. After so much rich food, on the 13th day you should have simple rice congee and mustard greens (choi sum) to cleanse the system.

Today was Saturday, early in the morning, I woke up and stayed at home the whole morning to watch TV. After finishing my lunch, I had nothing to do, so I decided to call my friends out. I headed to the coffee shop which was near a square.

There were a lot of people in the square, some women were dancing and singing, while some men were taking the chess. I walked into the coffee shop, chose a table which was near the window, so that I could see the outside scenery.

虽然她要求的严了一些，但是那段时间我的英语成绩确实很好，只要跟住老师，英语成绩就不会差，后来老师因为教的好，被别的学校挖走了。

不知道她现在怎么样，如果我看见她的话，一定会大声喊“英语老师！”

还记得前一段时间，我曾经读到这样一个故事。故事的内容说是有一次战争，少校带领着一群士兵正在进行激烈的战斗。突然，空中轰鸣声不断，少校一抬头，立刻焦急地喊道：“快趴下，敌军的轰炸机来了！”于是，所有的士兵都趴下了。只有一名年纪轻轻的士兵不知其所以然，还直直的站着。少校赶紧扑了过去，把他按了下来。正在此时，炸弹落下来了，爆炸的地点正是少校刚才的位置。故事中少校救了他人，也救了自己。

在我们的生活中，也是如此。就像我们博友们都很喜欢的校讯通，我们在这上面写作，互相交流，用心去点评他人的文章，当读到他人的文章写得生动时，我们给予鼓掌、给予推荐，从中我们自己也学习到了很多好的写作方法；如果读到他人的文章写得有不足时，我们真诚给予点评出来，这就算是帮助他人提高写作水平，可是有谁说我们在点评的同时不是在提高自己的写作能力？帮助他人提高，也一定会得到他人真诚的友谊，继而自己的文章出现这样或那样的不足，也一定会得到更多人的真诚指导，这不就是取得大大的收获了吗？

Yesterday, my parents were not home. And I had to stay at home by myself for one day and one night. I was very happy at first, because there wouldnt be anyone criticizes my behavior. I can do whatever I want. But later I felt desperate. There was nobody cook for me, asked me to do things or criticized me. I felt empty and desperate as the house is only me. When the night fell, I was afraid. The computer games or the cartoons couldn’t attract my attention. I hate living alone.

昨天，我的父母不在家。我得自己一个人呆上一天一夜。我一开始很开心，因为没人会批评我的行为了。我可以做任何我想做的事。但后来我感到很郁闷。没人给我做饭，没人叫我做事情也没有人批评我。整个房子只有我一个人，我感到很空虚和郁闷。当夜幕降临的时候，我就开始很害怕了。电脑游戏或动画片都无法吸引我的注意。我讨厌一个人生活。

Nowadays, electronic music is very popular around the world. First electronic music got popular from Lady Gaga, her creative dressing styles caught people’s attention and then people started to notice her music. They fell in love with her electronic music. Unlike rock and roll music, electronic music is more favorable by me. It makes me excited and I am totally lost in the wonderful music. Once my friends and I went to a music festival. There were so many people standing there and listening to the music. Especially when the DJ came out and everybody got excited. When the DJ played electronic music, my friends and I shook our bodies and joined the crowd to dance. It was such a wonderful experience for me. I will never forget the power of electronic music. It brings people together and share the same emotion.

Astime goes by, people are being busier and busier with working, such as signingtheir contracts, meeting their customers, drawing up the balance sheets oftheir companies and so on. In this circumstance, people forget our mostexcellent skill--smile.

Thereare a great many kinds of power of smile. First of all, common touch can beshowed by a kind smile. Imagine that you go to a company to attend an audition.With a confident smile, you are more likely to answer the question better. Furthermore,smile can eliminate angry. As a philosopher said, smile before you begin to getangry. The last but not the least, it reflects calm of a person when he is indanger or in trouble.

微笑的力量很多。首先，微笑可以作为平易近人的一种表现。想象一下，你去一个公司参加面试。带着自信的微笑，你有可能会更好地回答问题。此外，微笑可以消除愤怒。一个哲学家说过，在你开始生气之前微笑。最后但并非最不重要的，当一个人处于危险或者麻烦的时候，微笑反映了一个人的镇定。

Thebeneficial aspects cannot be stated completely in this passage. But you canunderstand its power when you smile.
