American eating is funny. They eat almost everything with a fork, and it appears that holding a knife in ones right hand longer than a few seconds is considered to be against good table manners.

The system is that if it is absolutely necessary to use a knife, people take the fork in their left hand, and cut off a piece of meat or whatever it is in the normal manner. Then they put the knife down, transfer the fork to their right hand, and only then do they transport the food to their mouth. This is clearly ludicrous(滑稽可笑), but it is considered good manners.

There are several results of this system. On that day people usually go back home to have family reunion. Each family will have the members get together to have a big dinner. The most popular food is moon cakes. They are round and look like the moon.

The moon is the brightest this night. People ate the delicious food while they were enjoying a beautiful full moon in their yard. At this time, some old people would like to tell many past events and tell the children a story about the rabbit. The children really believed that there was a rabbit on the moon. They wanted to go to the moon and have a look one day.

农历八月十五日是中秋节，在中国它是最重要的传统节日之一。 在那一天，人们通常回家与家人团聚，一家人聚在一起饱餐一顿。最流行的食品是月饼，它们圆圆的就像月亮。

中秋节晚上的月亮特别地圆。人们都在自家的院子里一边赏月一边吃着可口的月饼。这个时候；一些老人会讲述许多古老的故事，如月亮上的玉兔，孩子们信以为真，他们真想有一天登上月球看个究竟。 中秋是个美好的节日啊 !

[难忘的中秋英语作文

德国大诗人歌德说过；“读一本好书，就等于和一位高尚的人对话。”我非常喜欢读书，其中我最喜欢的一本书是《小故事，大道理》。

这本书的内容十分丰富，它用一个个令人回味无穷的故事向人们阐述了很多道理。我觉得它像一位无声的老师，在潜移默化中，告诉我们在课堂上学不到的知识，教育我们该怎样做人做事；我又觉得它像一场温暖的春雨，轻柔地冲刷掉我心灵上的污渍，使我成为一个品格纯洁的人。总而言之，读了《小故事，大道理》这本书，我真是受益非浅。

其中一个小故事讲的是美国前总统罗斯福家失盗，被偷去了许多东西，当朋友安慰他时，他却说：“谢谢你的关心，我很好，感谢上帝：因为第一贼偷去的是我的东西，而没有伤害我的生命；第二，贼只偷去我的部分东西，而不是全部；第三，最值得庆幸的是，做贼的是他，而不是我”。对任何人来说，失窃是件不幸的事，而罗斯福却找出三条感恩的理由。看了这个小故事，我感到非常汗颜。

在这之前，我常常为自己过重的学习负担而烦恼，羡慕爸爸妈妈小时侯作业少，学习轻松，没有没完没了的考试，不用弹琴唱歌。甚至当爸爸妈妈告诉我，他们小时侯放学后要出去割草，洗衣，农忙时要下田帮大人干活时，我都满不在乎地说，我不愿意现在这么辛苦地学习，宁愿和你们小时侯一样干活。可当我看完这个故事，换一种思路再来看待两代人的学习和生活时，我却为自己是生长在这个时代而感到幸福。

现在的我虽然学习任务重了一点，可我想吃什么都有，想穿什么都有，出门有汽车，天热有空调，无聊可以看电视，和同学打电话。弹琴唱歌虽然辛苦了，可我学到了很多本领，当同学们羡慕我歌唱得好时，我不都应该感谢父母培养了我，给了我机会吗？从此以后，我也要学罗斯福一样感恩社会，知足自己的现状，笑迎充满希望的明天。

我能换一种思维来热爱我的学习，我的生活，都是这本书的功劳。整本书，三百多个小故事，简单地阐明了三百多个浅显的道理，我将不断用这些道理来指导我的学习，鞭策我的人生。
