我盼星星盼月亮，终于盼来了暑假。Yeah!爸爸妈妈要带我到梅州旅游。

路上，我们看见了座座小村庄夹在座座峰峦叠障的大山之间，山上栽满了红花绿树，让人们心旷神怡。导游说：“梅州是国家历史文化名城，索有文化之乡，华侨之乡，足球之乡”的美称，物华天宝，人杰地灵，山清水秀。

到了梅州，我们坐在汽车里，经过梅州的名桥：梅州桥，它是最旱修建的横跨海江的桥，建成于1934年，它历经许多战争动乱，成了沟通南北两岸的咽喉要道。桥原长285.5米，宽6.65米，桥中铺木板，两端砌石台阶，车辆不可通行，1950年和1965年梅县人民政府修建这座桥，修建后长300米，宽12米，车辆可通行。

游览的第站是叶剑英元帅故居，叶剑英是中国伟大的无产阶级革命家、十大元帅之，他住在梅县雁洋镇虎形村度过儿童，少年时代。“为什么要叫虎形村呢?”原来，站在五指山上往下望，可以看见山似伏卧体憩的巨虎，“巨虎”下就是虎形村。啊!虎形村的得名是这么有趣。接着，我们游玩了纪念馆，进门，我们看见尊大大的叶帅雕像，像似在和我们招手呢?看!那是什么?那是把把武器，我拿起把刀，装出元帅的样子，挥舞起来，逗得大家哈哈大笑，啊?那儿的人群里三层，外三层地围着，我们挤了进去，原来，这儿有叶元帅和他的手下谈话的雕塑，我用照相机灵巧地把这严肃地场面啪了下来，……

第二天，我们高高兴兴地游玩了千佛塔和围龙屋，下午，我们依依不舍地离开梅州回到了汕头。

啊!这个暑假我过得又充实又快乐。因为我游览文化名城梅州，领略了祖国的壮丽山河，了解了祖国的文化历史。

It is widely noted that lots of traditional culture is disappearing along with the development of technology. Many ancient architectures and traditional ways of living have been deserted. It seems that the traditional culture and craftsmanship will be replaced in this modern era.

The following reasons can account for the above phenomenon. Firstly, traditional technologies are always considered ineffective while the new sciences are always highly efficient. Secondly, it is costly to protect the traditional culture. If the fund used to protect the ancient culture was instead delivered to the poor, it will be helpful to the improvement of their living standard. Thirdly, modern science and technology facilitate both our daily and academic life a lot. For instance, college students always collect their thesis materials by surfing the Internet instead of borrowing books from the library.

In my opinion, although traditional culture is an ancient heritage, it couldn’t keep pace with the development of society. It is the tide of history that the traditional culture and technology will no doubt be eliminated in the end.

First of all, a good rest is needed because I do feel tired after the hard work of all these years. Of course, I’ll do some reading for fun, and for knowledge as well. I’ll spend some time staying with my parents, chatting with them and doing some housework. They’ve done so much for me, you know. If possible, I’ll take part in some social activities so that I can know more about the society.

Last Sunday, Jack had a relaxing Sunday.

Though it’s very relaxing for him, it also make very noisy for neighbors.

Maybe he should turn down the music.

In this summer vacation I do a lot of things, like swimming, my grandfather took me to the nine light city to go swimming, I would have learned how to swim, but havent swim back for a long time, my grandfather took me to swim, to practice. I spent this summer vacation in quite a different way. I used to run about every day in previous summer vacations, but this summer vacation I simply could not afford to do so. I would soon be in the last year of my high-school education and would after graduation be up against the college entrance examinations.

Though those examinations were still a year away, I had to start early to make myself well prepared by reviewing all those things I had learned at school and this summer vacation was the ideal time for me to do this.

At first I was rather dismayed at the thought of this, but later I thought it was better this way because by working hard this summer I could count on endless happy summers to come. With this in mind I then set to work like anything and only occasionally went out for a change or did some physical. I was not at all bored by this kind of life, for I was sustained by a hope.
