Last Sunday, I went sightseeing with my friends in the Fairy Lake Park. I was appreciating the beautiful lake when a scene that didn’t go with its harmony came into my eyes. My son Joey was born with club feet. The doctors assured us that with treatment he would be able to walk normally — but would never run very well. The first three years of his life were spent in surgery, casts and braces. By the time he was eight, you wouldnt know he had a problem when you saw him walk .

I asked him how he felt. "Okay," he said. He had two more miles to go. The sweat ran down his face and his eyes were glassy from his fever. Yet he looked straight ahead and kept running. We never told him he couldnt run four miles with a 103—degree fever. So he didnt know.

Two weeks later, the names of the team runners were called. Joey was number six on the list. Joey had made the team. He was in seventh grade — the other six team members were all eighth—graders. 给人的印象是，圣诞节总是那么舒适宜人。十二月的印象完全没有一个严酷的北方冬天，只有春天的温暖。开小学最后一束梅花，梅花开在节日应该开放圣诞节。

它每天都来，不管你是谁，总是在桌上有很多卡片，充满了祝福。远处是彩色蜡笔画，伴着厚厚的雪花，给了圣诞节纯洁无邪的感觉。放学后，同学们都在摊位上买丝带，买气球，冒着鹅毛装点的教室，走过每一个路段，失去了学校的尊严，取而代之的是富气的圣诞节。
