过年要从除夕说起。外婆家是大户人家，大年三十会贴上太公自己写的春联，也会和亲人一起吃年夜饭。不过那时候还没有电视机，不能看春节联欢晚会，只能和小伙伴坐在厨房把火打开，一边煮粽子一边围着火取暖。那时，外婆特别开心，因为明天就能分到一点零食了。第二天早晨，外婆就穿上了新衣服，只见大红底色的，带有一些小花点缀着，外婆可高兴了。一年之中只有过年才有新衣服穿，想想我天天都穿新衣服，真是太幸福了。外婆家大年初一的早餐一定要吃汤圆，因为汤圆代表全家团团圆圆。吃过早饭，太公会给孩子们分发一些过年的零食，有几块糖、几片烤糖等等。外婆会小心翼翼地把零食放进罐子里，每天就吃一点，非常珍惜。而我每天都能吃到可口的零食，相差太大了。外婆还告诉我一个小秘密，她的新衣服只穿三天，三天后为什么新衣服就要收起来呀？原来外婆家里不富裕，新衣服要省着穿，可以穿好几年呢！

我给外公外婆拜了年，外婆送了我一包压岁钱，我连忙问外婆小时候能得多少压岁钱？谁知外婆从来没有得过压岁钱，也没有新年礼物，只能和小伙伴玩一些小游戏来高兴高兴。

给外公外婆拜年让我了解了老人们小时候的过年，我要更加珍惜现在的美好生活。
