Error Correction, as the 1st section of Written Part of NMET, mainly tests the mastery of the use of words and grammar of English. The understanding of the given text is course important to the performance.

There are 10 numbered lines, each of which may have one mistake. You have to decide firstly whether there is a mistake or not. If not, put a tick in the numbered blank. If there is a mistake, you may have to add a word, cross out a word, or change word. You have to find out the mistakes in the use of words and/or grammar. Sometimes there may be a logic problem, which would be the most difficult.

Last time I got 7 points less than expected. Why? I didn’t put the answers strictly following the rule, although I did know how to do it.

2.评分时，先根据文章的内容和语言初步确定其所属档次，然后以该档次的要求来衡量，确定或调整档次，最后给分。

3. 词数少于 80和多于120的，从总分中减去2分。

4. 评分时，应注意的主要内容为：内容要点、应用词汇和语法结构的数量和准确性、上下文的连贯性及语言的得体性。

5. 拼写与标点符号是语言准确性的一个方面，评分时，应视其对交际的影响程度予以考虑。英、美拼写汉词汇用法均可接受。

长城结构：长城不止是一道单独的墙，它由城墙、敌楼、关城、墩堡、营城、卫所等所构成的防御系统。墙身平均高度为7.8米，有些地方高达14米。还有外檐墙和内檐墙。

Aimed at providing a platform where students can have a chance to exchange and make use of their books, the annual campus book fair will soon be held in our school. The fair will attract a huge crowd from the entire school, who are to sell, purchase and exchange their second-hand books with their peers.

As a regular visitor, I’ve found myself increasingly attracted by the fair. For one thing, the fair exhibits books of hundreds of types on diverse topics, motivating us to further develop our reading habits and help to broaden our horizons. For another, most books are sold at a lower price than what the bookstores offer.

duststorms are largely created by man himself. on the one hand, too much air pollution causes a greenhouse effect, which, in turn, leads to global wanning in climate. this results in wet places on the earth even wetter and dry places even drier. on the other hand, over grazing, poor fanning, tree cutting, strip mining all leave theland unprotected. when the wind blows, it blows away topsoil and loose soil.

今天，我看了一段“圣德教育，改变命运”的纪录片，看完后，我百感交集……。

纪录片的内容是这样的：故事一开始就以世界各地的灾难引出“想要救现在的世界，必须回到两千多年前的中国的观点，专家认为：只有代表中国精神和灵魂的传统文化才能改变现状，端正人们的价值观。而这伟大的传统文化，在西文的影响和侵蚀下，几乎要后继无人了。所以我们要领悟“儒佛道”的核心思想，并在现实生活中付诸行动，弘扬伟大的传统文化，让中华文化经久不息。

看完后，一个个“仁、义、礼、智、信”的字眼还在我脑海中久久回荡。

现在社会上有部分人的潜意识是西方的文化更先进，于是不断地“洋化”，甚至比西方人还要西人，比如说：那些崇尚所谓的自由而脱光衣服游行的荡妇;那些为了赚钱而使用地沟油的奸商;那些为了推销汽车而一丝不挂的车模;那些为了赢得一台电脑而脱衣服的女性等等。如果说这是求“自由”、为了钱，就不顾羞耻;那什么又是尊严呢?有部分人认为古代的东西听不懂、不理解就是糟粕，谁又能说不是这些人见识短浅呢!

我认为古代的文化十分伟大，不然汉语怎么成为世界上最伟大的语言!就比如说“圣”字古代的写法由“耳、口、土”组成，“耳”代表要擅于听闻、观察，擅于发现;“口”代表要传播伦理教育;一个类似站在地上的弯腰的人代表要结合实际，脚达实地，付诸行动。

我们不能让博大精深的中华文化消失于我们这一代，我们要继承中华民族的精神，宣讲优秀的古文明，弘扬中国传统文化。

This years observance of World No Tobacco Day focuses on "Gender and tobacco, with an emphasis on marketing to women".

Although fewer than 1 out of 10 women are smokers, that still adds up to an estimated 200 million women around the world. Moreover, that number could grow, since the tobacco industry is spending heavily on advertisements that target women and associate tobacco use with beauty and liberation.

I was waiting for the doctor to finish his examination.I was worried and nervous.Would my father have to operate?Would a blood transfusion be necessary?What would he have to say?

Dr Lin was a heart expert.He was an excellent doctor and his examinations were always complete.He listened to the patients heart,took his blood pressure and temperature,gave him an X-ray and examined his eyes and ears.The doctor finall completed his examination and spoke to me.He told me that heart trouble is never a minor illness,but this wasnt a serious heart attack.He advised losing weight,getting plenty of sleep and eating good meals.Smoking and drinking would be harmful,of course.Dr Lin said it would be necessary to be careful for a while,but he was confident that there was nothing to worry about.

I felt much better after I spoke to Dr Lin.I was certain that my father would be up and around again very soon.Hes seventy five years old now,but he can still live for a long time if he takes good care of himself.

今天，烟雨迷蒙，天阴阴的，大家的车，行驶在一条蜿蜒的小路上，大家要去一位细纹刻纸大师家学习，这位大师胜名叫周是一，他家住在风景秀丽的西山水库旁边。

一走进他家，“哇，这简直就不是人的家，分明是细纹刻纸的天堂。”墙上挂着一幅美如画的作品，有：鸳鸯溪、出类拔萃、还有雁荡山的美景。桌子上放着用细纹刻纸做的12生肖的书法，都是仿造卡通做的，真是栩栩如生。客厅里，沙发垫、杯垫、抱枕也都是用细纹刻纸的衍生品。就他家的马桶，都有细纹刻纸的图案呢!

上课了，周老师向大家介绍撕纸、烧纸、剪纸刻纸都算细纹刻纸。其中、细纹刻纸最难，它可以在一寸见方的纸面可出50条线，其纹样细如发丝，可随性地刻出各种图案。

下面，周老师就让大家来动手，体验一下用手撕纸，只见周老师三五两下就撕出了一条活波讨人喜欢的小鱼。大家见了羡慕不已，下面就要发挥我的奇思妙想，结果，大家撕出的鱼大小不一，形态各异，林正邦还撕了“双鱼”呢!

我喜欢如此有意义的课余生活。下次，我还要去探索更多非物质文化遗产。

中国的传统文化应该是得到重视的，但在愈来愈近的现代生活中去越多的缺乏了这种对于传统文化的一种重视，生活中点点滴滴也没了最初的传统。

传统文化最突出的一点是节日。我们都知道春节，元旦，端午节等等都是我们国家从以前一直传承至今的节日，并且也一直都是每年按照节日过这个传统节日。但在人们过节日的同时却忘记了自己过这个节日的原来的目的，意义何在。

春节，本应是每年的大年初一来过。更注重的是过年的那一份亲近那一份真挚的感情，但人们现在处于这么一个科技发达的时代反而忘记了这份注重的东西，人们只是更加的注重一种形式。买春联贴上吃了饺子看了春晚也就是过完了年过完了春节，但最初的那份感情却丢失了。我们现在要的到底是什么？

还有现在的文字，现在的简体字都是从以前的甲骨文源源流传到现在，转变到现在的让人不必在费力辨认的字体。但以前的传统的字体也是没有一处不散发着中国传统文化的魅力。

以前的文字有着形体美，韵美。我们可以从字体的形状来知道这个字的意思，它的本意。也是更加的直观，也更是让当今的人们更加的震惊以前的人们是多么的拥有这样的智慧来创造了这些文字，适当今的人们如此收益。也是使当今的交流更加的方便便捷，让大家可以在纸上，用文字来表达自己的心情，提供了很多意想不到的便利。

但人们现在的字体虽然都已经变的简单不再像以前那样的复杂，但却一点点的发现，人们在用现在的文字时没有记得最初这个文字的意思，他的本意。

没有一处在控诉着我们现在的人们在一点一点的忘记自己的“本”忘记了最初的意义。使整个人们的现代文明出现了一个裂缝并且不断的加大，这应该是我们重视我们对待传统文化的教育。

我们在掌握现在的“新”知识的同时不能够忘掉我们的本质，这将会影响自己对于传统文化的重视。
