当我们吟颂前人的美词佳句时;当我们感受他们的灵魂深处时;当我们感受到他们曾经的生命时。善待生命，又一次成为我们的追寻。

那是8月25日，对于我来说是我一生中最难忘的事，因为那天是我的生日。其实，从小到大，我的生日过的很简单。

每次过生日，都和别人有着很大的差别，举个例子来说吧！比如：别人都是到蛋糕房订个奶油蛋糕，我的就是到那买鸡蛋糕应付过去了。第二，别人的都举行party、点蜡烛、许愿、唱生日歌，我的生日总是和别人过的不一样，什么都没有。

在我过生日的那天，和以往不同的是，我请了一个初中同学来和我一起过生日，早上八点多她来找我了。那天是阴天天上下着雨，她打着伞跑来的，看她跑来的我十分感动。于是就赶紧迎上去，握着她的手，说：“你来啦！赶快进来，外面下雨了。”让我没想到是，她居然送礼物，还祝我生日快乐，好开心哦。我说：“谢谢你了。”

说完，她进了屋，那天我爸爸妈妈出去有事，就剩下我们两个人，因为自从初中到现在好久没见了，有好多话说。说着说着，就到了中午，这时她说：“我该走了，家里还有事呢。”我让她在留会，她也不愿意。这时正好爸爸妈妈也回来了，知道之后，也同意让她留下来。

经过爸爸妈妈的软磨硬泡，她终于决定留下来吃午饭了。就这样，中午过去了，我爸爸在睡觉，我们在看电视。下午，她要出去逛逛，我就陪着她，逛到六点多我去家了，我才和她分别。

回家吃过晚饭之后，我把她送给我的礼物—小熊放在我的卧室，让它可以和我一起睡，我一定会珍惜这个来之不易的礼物。

希望它可以延长我们之间的同学的情谊、和友谊，我会永远记住这一天，不会忘记。

因为大家在上个星期五就听说徐老师的生日是12月5日，所以到了这个星期一大家就努力的筹钱，买礼物和蛋糕，为此徐老师非常感动！

在星期一的时候大家就在讨论买蛋糕的钱：“你出二十元，我出二十五元，她出三十元……”我们的一切行动都是“秘密行动”绝对不能让徐老师知道！

今天是星期二，大家的礼物已经准备的差不多了，只差明天拿过来的大蛋糕了！

星期三终于到了，大家早早的来到了教室，来吹气球，还在黑板上写了：“祝徐老师生日快乐！”虽然我来得不早，但是也能知道同学们为老师付出的努力。

徐老师说：“我们下午第二节课切蛋糕！”我们等啊等，等啊等时间好像过得很慢，我们迫不及待得想看一下蛋糕的样子，所以，课都没心思上了，终于等到切蛋糕的时候了，徐老师插上了蜡烛，点着后，我们一起唱生日歌：“祝你生日快乐！祝你生日快乐！……”唱完后同学们异口同声的说：“许愿！许愿！”徐老师许完愿后，就开始切蛋糕了。徐老师切一块同学们就拿走一块，在讲台上一块蛋糕也没留！正好一人一块！同学们把蛋糕全部吃了，可是把奶油全部留了下来，大家都有这个念头：把奶油涂到别的同学的脸上。

还是和同学们一起过生日比较热闹一些，就这样我们一起度过了开开心心的一天！

人活在世间，不可能永远顺利，没有失败。有时，仍不能不低头。可低头需要勇气，这种勇气不仅存在于低头时，更存在于低头后。

勾践，越国史上杰出的君王，人们只惊叹其“卧薪尝胆”之伟大，忽略了他低头时惊人的勇气。在吴王强大的势力下，他低头了。在国人面前低头，既要多大的勇气，可勾践做到了。后来，他低头做吴王的士卒，吃尽了多少苦。但他的低头是有价值的，他的低头，换来了越国的壮大。最后，越国终于灭了吴国，成为那段时期的强国之一。如果勾践当时没有足够的勇气低头，那么越国也许早已被吴国灭亡，怎会会有后来如此安居乐业的盛状？所以，有时侯，低头是必要的，低头需要勇气，那勇气的力量如此之大，日月为之惊叹。低头有时是很重要，因为那时我们无能力对付敌人，低头可以暂时保全自己安全。低头后，我们需要认真分析，为抬头创造动力。

每每翻开《史记》，都为项羽感到哀伤，他在走投无路，四面楚歌，那一刻为什么不低头呢？是没有足够的勇气吗？怕无颜面对江东父老？一切都不是这样，因为他没有勇气低头。如果，他当时选择低头，过江东，在江东苦练，分析失败的原因，凭他雄健的体魄、高超的武艺，东山再起，岂是难事？可他就是没有低头的勇气。

那是一个秋风习习，阳光温暖的午后，我正在家里独自玩耍，这时有个快递员叔叔一手提着一只大箱子，一手推着一辆蓝色的自行车来到我家。哦！我知道了，前两天就听爸爸说他在网上买了净水器，人家还赠送一辆大人骑的山地自行车。

“哇！好漂亮的自行车啊！”我高兴地跳着说。

爸爸摸着我的小脑袋笑着说：“喜欢吗？如果你能骑，就是你的了。”

这时，爸爸也赶来了，他连忙扶起我，一脸焦急的问：“孩子，没事吧？”我一头扎进爸爸的怀抱，不由得哭出了声，虽然还有些后怕，但一种巨大的成就感从心中升起，我忽然感觉自己特别勇敢！

The Origin of Halloween

While there are many versions of the origins and old customs of Halloween, some remain consistent by all accounts. Different cultures view Holloween somewhat differently but traditional Halloween practices remain the same.

Halloween culture can be traced back to the Druids, a Celtic culture in Ireland, Britain and Northern Europe. Roots lay in the feast of Samhain, which was annually on October 31st to honor the dead.

Samhain signifies "summers end" or November. Samhain was a harvest festival with huge sacred bonfires, marking the end of the Celtic year and beginning of a new one. Many of the practices involved in this celebration were fed on superstition.

The Celts believed the souls of the dead roamed the streets and villages at night. Since not all spirits were thought to be friendly, gifts and treats were left out to pacify the evil and ensure next years crops would be plentiful. This custom evolved into trick-or-treating.
