Waste management is a big problem for Australia. Australian population continues to grow and we need to use more and more resources and creating more waste. Wastes are substances that have no further use and if disposed of in land water or air can harm humans or the environment. If we don’t do something for the amount of waste that is produced there is a risk that we may run out of room in landfills or even run out of resources and I conducted the surveys from my friends and neighbours to check how many rubbish we need to waste and what is that.

I conducted 20 surveys asking them about type and amount of waste that they generate each week. The results showed that about 35% of people have 2 bags of rubbish per day. And about 25% of people have 1 and 3 bags of rubbish per day. The rest of them have 8+ bags per week. Do you know how large of the number for the rubbish? If an average weight of 2 kg per bag that’s mean we got about 116+kg per week for 20 household. If we have 23 million people in Australia that’s mean we need to waste about 113.4 million rubbishes per week. That’s a really huge number. And then I want to tell them about which strategies they need to be using to make a positive impact on waste management. If we still waste that lot may be one day all the landfill are full and we have to found a new place to set the rubbish and at that time we will be really regret.

The survey result also showed that there were a number of different types of waste thrown out in each household. Just like I think before most of them are food waste (29%) and the following are plastic (21%) garden waste (18%) paper product (15%) glass (10%) miscellaneous (5%) and the last one is aluminium (2%). As you see food waste still pretty much but we can’t do anything to that right? Therefore we need to improve our waste management by recycling the paper product glass and aluminium rather putting them in the garbage. That will be helpful for reduce landfill and save resources. May be that just a really small number for the rubbishes waste but that will make landfill have a lot space to put other rubbish.

In the survey people were asked to rank which strategies they would be prepared to use to help better manage waste. Most people said use products that can be reused or recycled is the first one the next highest rank is choose to buy goods that have less packaging and join an environmental group establish a worm farm to reduce food waste and put rubbish in a bin not on the ground. The least popular choice is Volunteer to help on ‘clean up Australia day’. These choices show u people want to do something more easily to do and don’t need too much time to spend to do.

I saw a chemical factory pouring the waste water into the river.The river was very dirty.The fishes and animals died because of the pollution.It also polluted the flowers and grass near the river.

I think we should protect the environment.I think the government can do something useful to stop the pollution and protect the environment.

Nowadays, more and more people realize it`s necessary and important to protect the environment. Also,there are some people who don`t pay attention to hygiene and they can`t stop littering the rubbish casually or spitting everywhere all the time.And in addition, there are a few factories often cutting down the trees, discharging chemicals and dirty water and so on.And it causes many problems like the Greenhouse Effect.If they do these day by day and our life will be harder and harder,so we have to stop them. To stop them we can put up commonweal advertisements and tell them the detriment of destroying the environment.So we can start from now to make a beautiful life.

我的家乡南澳岛，风景优美，四周大海环抱，素有“南粤明珠”之称，它是我祖祖辈辈生长的地方。岛上的名胜古迹共30多处，有名的旅游景点共50多处。经过上天的巧妙安排，让南澳这个海岛有着悠久的人文历史文化，美味可口的海鲜，风光无限的旅游景点以及有着淡淡咸味却无比新鲜的空气。

南澳的海，养育着许许多多南澳人民。每年盛产许多海鲜，有最出名的鱿鱼、龙虾……海水还能被加工制成食盐，岛上还种植着各种各样的蔬菜、水果等农作物。

南澳岛上的森林郁郁葱葱，红日碧海，青峰峻岭，奇石艳花，还有一阵阵清风。在这里，能让你保受大自然最原始的美丽景色，在这里，可以聆听那涛声阵阵，浪声汹汹。走在柔软的沙滩上，可以眺望无际的大海，可以在沙滩上对着大海大喊一声，消除心中的烦恼……如果你问我：“你爱海吗？”我会不假思索地回答：“当然爱！”我爱一个人静静地在沙滩上坐着，享受大海为我演奏的“乐曲”；我爱一个人蹲在石礁上小声的数贝壳……

以前，我爱海是因为海是美丽的，是清澈的，是干净的。可是现在，海面上飘着垃圾，一大堆死鱼死虾在海面上举行“仰泳比赛”，沙滩上，人们吃剩的食物、随手丢下的垃圾和不知从哪来的玻璃块随处可见。走近海边，凑上前一闻，再也闻不到以前那股夹杂着淡淡咸味却无比新鲜的空气了，而是以阵阵的散发着死鱼死虾腐烂的臭味。虽然，海的外表仍是那么美丽，仍那么闪闪发光，但是，又有谁知道，海的内心已经受了多重的伤吗？试问，在这种情况下，你还会喜欢海吗？当然不会。于是，政府开始呼吁我们要保护海洋。

目前，海洋的主要保护目标是海洋里生物的资源，使之不致衰竭，以致可供人类永久地使用。尤其要优先保护那些有价值和已经濒临灭绝的海洋生物。根据联合国的有关部门的调查，由于过度捕捞，偶然性的捕杀非目标允许捕杀的海洋生物，海岸涂滩的工程建设，红树林的砍伐，普遍的海洋环境污染，至少已经使世界上25个重要渔场的资源环境消耗殆尽。虽然南澳的海还没发展到那个地步，但我敢肯定，如果按现状发展下去，过不了多久，世世代代生活在南澳的人就得离开南澳了。

海洋保护的任务，首先要制止对海洋生物资源的过度利用，其次还要保护好海底生物的栖息地或生活环境，尤其是海底生物洄游、产卵觅食、躲避敌害的海岸、滩涂、河口和珊瑚礁等地。防止重金属、农药、石油、有机物和易产生“富营养化”的“营养物质”污染海洋。要保护海洋生物资源的再生能力和海水的自然化能力，维护海洋生态平衡，保证人类对海洋的持续开发的利用。

“共建和谐南澳，创造美丽海岛”，这句话一直浮现在我的脑海，希望通过大家的努力，能使这句话变成真的，而不再是幻想！

Today is my birthday and Im so excited about it.In the morning I put a

note on the table for my mum and it said,"Today is my birthday,dont forget

it!"At school,I got many gifts and cards for my classmates and had a lot of

fun.But I was still expecting the birthday party after school.

When it was time to leave school I couldnt wait to go home.When I open the

door,there wasnt anybody in the house.There was only a note that said,"Coming

home late tonight,mum and dad."I try to call them but there was no answer.I was

so shocked,do they forget my birthday?How could this be!I was so sad that I

couldnt eat anything.I just did my homework and waited for them.

And then,things changed completely.It was about time for dinner,my mother

called and told me to go to the restanrant near our house.When I got there I

couldnt believed my eyes.Everybody was there:my parents,my relatives,my friends

and even my classmates.There was so many gifts and a big cake.What a surprising

birthday party!We had a good time and it was the best birthday party ever.

Environmental protection is everyones responsibility, we all know! But now the environment is not optimistic, such as: someone spit on the ground, someone littering, still pulling weeds, folding flowers. These are nothing, because some people, not only protect the environment, but also damage the environment. Because of the existence of this kind of person, so only in the sharp deterioration in environment, so we should protect the environment, more to damage the environment should be discouraged. In this way, the tree will be much, grass and flowers also lush, natural, such as dust storms disaster would not have happened!

Today, I let you see how should protect the environment. Some people might say, put a few piece of propaganda to protect the environment in the city brand is not good, in fact, this idea is wrong. Someone may say: this is not a propaganda to protect the environment? Of course not, because there are two reasons: 1, some people may watch brand every day, so I wont join the team to protect the environment. Will likely continue to destroy the environment and bad habits. 2, is the man looking at, but he didnt want to join the ranks to or dont want to protect the environment. The first step to protect the environment: learn how to protect the environment. To protect the environment the second step: advice others to protect the environment. Requirements: if see people littering or spitting, etc., should be up to dissuade immediately. 保护环境是大家的职责，大家都知道吧!但是现在的环境状况却不容乐观，比如：有人在地上吐痰，有人乱扔垃圾，还有人拔草、折花。这些都不算什么，因为还有些人，不仅不保护环境，而且还破坏环境。因为有这种人的存在，所以环境才在急剧恶化，因此我们要多加保护环境，对破坏环境的人应该劝阻。这样，树就会多了，草和花也茂盛了，自然，沙尘暴之类的灾难就不会发生了!

今天，我就让大家来看看应该怎样保护环境。有些人可能会说：在城市里放几块宣传保护环境的牌子不就好了吗，其实，这种想法是错误的。有人可能会说了：这不是在宣传保护环境吗?当然不是，因为这里有两点原因：1，有一些人有可能每天都不看牌子，所以就不会加入到保护环境的队伍中去。习惯差的，还有可能继续破坏环境。2，那个人看是看了，但他不想加入到这个行列中去或是根本就不想保护环境。从这两点可以说明光是几块宣传的牌子是没用的。哪有人可能会急切地问道：那该怎么办!办法很简单，只要自己要保护环境的信心，自己身边的人也会跟着做的!

保护环境第一步：自己学会保护环境。要求：自己要自觉地保护环境，不能连自己都在破坏环境，这样你就连管别人的要求都达不到了。保护环境第二步：劝告别人保护环境。要求：如果见别人乱扔垃圾或吐痰等，应该立即上去劝阻。当然自己也要管得知自己哟!保护环境第三步：让一个集体保护环境。要求：让几十个人并成一个集体，并保护环境。如果你这三点都做到了，那你就是一个“保护环境小卫士”了!

这就是我保护环境的观点。我现在也在努力保护环境，你呢?

Today, Chinas economy has made the great achievement. More and more

foreign people come to China to seek for cooperation. It is true that peoples

life standard has been improved a lot during the last decades, but the

environment has been polluted badly. When I was very small, I could see the

green trees and clean water around my hometown, but now, the river becomes

smaller and the rubbish can be seen everywhere. I feel so sad about it. We have

sacrificed so much to chase the profit. If we cant save the environment, we

wont live the comfortable life. For us, we should not throw away the rubbish

and plant more trees. The little things we do will make a great difference.
