人生自古谁无死，早死晚死都得死。哎，我还是先出去为妙。我无奈地说，老师怎么又笑了，一定是使了三十六计第十计－－－笑里藏刀吧。哎－－哎－－老师你怎么了！老师瞬间被我气晕了。我还摇头晃脑的说，老师一定时被我的意念K。O的，哈，哈，没想到我这么厉害。

大家笑得差点把房子笑散架了，居然来拿马来西亚的飞机都笑没了。

NO、3体育课上，有时可恶的三千米跑。唉呀妈呀，这不明摆着要累死啊！我们才九岁好不好？三千米跑太远了，无穷无尽啊，有木有！

我一边跑一边骂，妈呀，什么破老师啊，整个一魔鬼啊！。这个老师真是坏，还优秀老师呢，我看是吹的吧，你顶多算一根毛，还是魔鬼身上的！

我很瘦，身高是班级“第一”（倒数第一）。我外貌上最大的优点——白，因此，大家都叫我“小白脸”。别人问我你怎么这么白时，我就开了个玩笑：当然是白云做的呗！

I have a happy family. Though there is only a little furniture in my home and everything in the rooms seems rather disorderly, I love my home very much.

My father is an engineer, nearly fifty years old. As a Party member, quite often he works late into the night. He even forgets himself when he is reading. Once when having supper, I found that the soup tasted watery. It soon became clear that my father, deep in his reading, had forgotten to put salt in the soup.

小女子生于乙酉年二月，年十四。姓陈，名诗涵，山东滨州人也。名随父母之意，为：精通诗文、谦逊有涵养。

吾自幼好学乐器，擅习书法，有时也随父论棋，谈不上精通，多是略通皮毛。吾爱阅读却不擅阅读，往往囫囵吞枣，不求其解，父母亦不通此道，吾便于此碌碌无为。

吾幼年生性好动，常攀于院中树，摘其果，不亦乐乎。因父严母慈，吾幼时爱母胜于父。因生性玩闹，常受于家法，但仍本性不改，打架斗殴，时常之事。

忆七岁年初，吾已升小学，不知何情何故，父母决意转学，吾乃至新校，名为高新，初来乍到，欺凌乃常有之事，兴许为好奇亦或为新颖，吾自不惧，行事鲁莽，便也不少慰问家长。

六年末，正植豆蔻，分别之际，十分不忍，同窗六年，实在叹息，岁月流逝，心智渐熟，吾蜕去无理取闹，不再莽撞行事。满怀期望踏入初中。

去岁，父亲身体欠佳，母亲决心还乡，收拾潦草，行走匆忙。吾亦于同年入新学，现居海林，寄身异地，父母不近，甚是想念。八载兜兜转转，身边竟无一亲友。

父甚爱饮酒，却因病不得戒，偶尔生馋，细品小口，闭目回味，甚是引人发笑;母亲酷爱歌舞，过往常舞于厅中，现却少尔。家无钱财之源，虽不至于短褐穿结，箪瓢屡空，却也是一筹莫展。

吾生性不喜多愁善感，过去之事更不会怀念，虽一路不平，却又耐我几何，吾不喜世俗，不戚戚于贫贱，不汲汲于富贵，常感足矣，便是安矣，以乐其志，虽言不雅行，却其心向善，未见人外人，不知天外天，只愿闯一闯，逝时已无悔。

我于一九九六年生于四川省自贡市一个小城镇里。父亲是个文化人，带着一副高度近视眼镜，显得斯斯文文，做起事来，总是粗中带细，雷厉风行;母亲有点文化，但不高，她做起事情来胆大心细，真有点天不怕，地不怕的样子，她不做则罢，一做准成。

记得五岁那年，母亲送我去体校学游泳，我的同伴都是些老队员或者已经参加过许多场比赛获得过名次的游泳健将，训练完后一有时间他们老是不忘捉弄我一番，直到我大哭。由于当时我的胆子十分的.小，每每下水，同伴游过打来的一个个浪花，都会把我吓得哇哇直哭，为了不呛水，我把池边抓得牢牢的。

后来教练硬是把我拖下水去憋气，刚开始一憋气我就哭，一哭教练就把我拖下水去，慢慢的，憋气次数多了，我就不怕了。我还叫同伴来看我表演憋气呢……从五岁那年一直到六七岁之间，教练已经教会了我漂浮以及长时间憋气的技巧。到了六七岁，教练就教我四种游泳的基本姿势。

一直学到了八岁，我才把这四种游泳姿势学好，因为那时侯我不动脑筋，再加上反应迟钝，所以学得十分的慢。在学游泳期间，因为不准家长买吃的看望，还不准帮我们洗衣服，所以年幼的我只能自己洗自己的衣服，把我身上的娇气全磨灭掉了;早上刷牙洗脸都是用冷水，谁先接到水谁先洗脸刷牙，由于我的个子不高，老是够不到，所以总有那么几个“好心人”为我接水。

终于，因为那时我的抵抗力差，老生病，我便停止学游泳，回到家里把心思全部都用在学习上。后来我才知道，原来我小时侯胆小怕事，做什么都要人陪，还不和其他小朋友玩，母亲为了锻炼我的胆量，增强我的体质，母亲真是用心良苦啊!

慢慢地，我意识到：一个人要想成功，要有胆有识，敢于拼搏，敢拼才会赢。我之所以一直未能成功，正是缺乏这些精神。

我来到这个世界上已经10年了，如果过完这个生日，我就11岁了。在这10年里，我体验到了世间的酸甜苦辣，也懂得了一些做人的道理，更明白了是妈妈一直鼓励我，锻炼我，是我一步步的走向成功。

记得我不到2岁时，就已经上幼儿园了，听姥姥讲我第一天上幼儿园时又哭又闹，很不情愿。后来我喜欢上了幼儿园，一上幼儿园我就高兴的“咯咯”乐，幼儿园里的老师丢我都特别好，因为我又可爱，又调皮。而且我还特别喜欢出去玩。妈妈说那时的我可爱极了！

转眼间，又过了3年，我5岁了，这段时间我已经适应了幼儿园里的生活，并且成为了幼儿园里的“小明星”，因为大家总能在升旗台上看到我。

后来我来到了文艺二小学，在那里我不仅认识了好多同学，而且还学会了好多的知识。很快我已经步入六年级了，在那个优美的校园里，我是大队委员，是老师的小助手，还是一个被大家认可的小主持人。

成长的经历告诉我：我前面的道路，绝不会一帆风顺，一定会遇到困难和挫折，我一定要勇敢的去面对！

Many classmates ask me about my plan for summer holiday. How I wish I could have a colorful and fruitful holiday, so I have decided to do a part-time job during the summer vacation. On the one hand, I can earn some pocket money by doing a part-time job. I can spend them freely, because they are earned by myself. 我是一个据称从“天上掉下来”的古怪精灵的女孩。2003年农历8月26日，刚生出来的我，两腮通红，紧闭着双眼，脸上还肉嘟嘟的呢！妈妈说，小时候的我特别爱唱歌，每天都要拿着奶瓶“咿呀咿呀”地唱来唱去，五音不全，又大嗓门，吵得左邻右舍都来投诉，结果我居然还哈哈大笑，各踩了邻居们一脚，邻居们那个气啊。

“嗖——”的一声，时光转眼就过去了，此时的我上一年级了呢！一年级的我实在是太聪明了，不仅在班里用自己的才智征服了所有人，当上班长，每次语文数学的试卷都有“一个油条两个鸡蛋”呢！唉，我真是太佩服自己了。

时间阿姨瞬间就把我带走，如今，我已经是一名品学兼优的六年级学生。我的学习不仅优秀，爱好也特别广泛。如：看书、画画、听歌……其中我喜欢下棋。下棋不仅让我们的大脑快速运转，还能提高IQ。我的性格也是千奇百怪的，独立，自信、幽默、正直……可以说是翻脸比翻书还快。就拿最近的一件事来说吧！那天放学，我和同伴们嘻嘻哈哈说笑着，我的脸上正挂着明媚的笑容。突然，前方出现了一间面包店，我立即改成贪吃的嘴脸。因为里头的香味真是让人垂涎欲滴。这时，一个同伴说到了成绩，我脸上又瞬间挂上了自信的微笑。又有一个同伴谈到了面包，我瞬间变回了贪吃的模样，唉，真是丢脸死了。

我这个古灵精怪的女孩的经历有意思吧！我的人生是多姿多彩，相信我的未来也会是光辉灿烂的。

十三年前，我随着“哇”地一声啼哭，降临到了这个世界上，宛如一棵幼苗，在父母的呵护下渐渐长大。

幸福的童年

小时候，我是个双面小男孩。如果遇见生人，就爱躲在爸妈身后或藏某个角落里静静地看，别人和我说话的声音大一点，我就会吓得小声地哭起来。只有在爸爸妈妈的面前，我会活泼起来，叽叽喳喳地说个不停，手足舞蹈地走来跑去。妈妈常常笑着说我像只调皮的小猴子。

我还是个很有思想的小男孩。有一次，妈妈问我：“龟兔赛跑的故事是谁赢了？”我思考了一会儿说：“妈妈，这个故事不合理呀。”妈妈歪着头问：“怎么会不合理呢？”我说：“乌龟是海里的动物，而兔子则是生活在大森林里的，它们两个怎么会在一起赛跑呢？”妈妈听了，拍掌大笑，然后说，“对，对，咱家小宝有思想，有思想。”

艰涩的成长

可是，幸福在我六岁那年飞走了。妈妈带着对我的爱与不舍飞到天国去了。从此，我的生活里，只有爸爸和我。可是从小到大，他在我的眼中是那么凶，那么地不近人情。

爸爸是个生意人，天天忙着自己的事情。以前上学，都是妈妈送我。现在妈妈不在了，爸爸让我独自去上学。直到现在，第一次独自上学的情景一直烙在脑子里。那时，我上小学一年级。我赖在家门口，哭哭啼啼地不肯走，路上那么多车，那么多人，我怕！可是爸爸把我推出了家，然后“怦”地一声关上门。哭了很久，我还是带着恐惶的心情上独自上路了。谁知，天不长眼，正当我万般惊恐过马路时，一辆自行车从身边飞驰而过。我的脸和手都被擦破了，那人还把我痛骂一顿，说我一个小孩子在路上乱跑什么。我委屈得大哭起来，心里想爸爸到底是不是我的亲爸爸呢？莫非真的像妈妈说的那样，我是他们在一个大树杈上捡来的孩子？”

不管怎样，我从此开始了独自上学的路。从小学二年级开始，一直是我背着一个大书包独自上学的，无论刮风下雨。

乐观的现在

可是，随着年龄的成长，我对爸爸的恐惧和怨恨也一点点消失。亲戚、邻居、老师或是同学们对我表扬和鼓励，让我慢慢理解了父亲的良苦用心。

“我和同事要出差，你自己在家当心点。大概是几天的时间，就看你的了。”父亲撂下一句话走了。我已经13岁了，一个人在家，没有大人，一切事情自己安排，自己干。

可是，我很好。前两天吃着爸爸在家时的剩菜。几天后，我开始做鸡蛋面条，甚至学着炒土豆丝。隔壁的王奶奶有时候会过来教教我，并摸着我的头说：“这孩子可真会做，鹏鹏，你爸爸也不容易啊，把你教得这么懂事。”

第二天，在闹铃的催促下，准备起床。然后洗漱之后赶到学校，上早自习。下自习后，帮政治老师收昨夜的作业，然后和同学们一起去食堂吃早饭，迎着东方的朝霞，谈论着新一天的打算。

最后，告诉大家，我叫吴鹏。我很喜欢我的名字，虽然它不是最好的，甚至还有同学按谐音，给我起了一个外号——巫婆，但依然不影响我对它的肯定与爱。因为妈妈在名字里寄托了她对我的期望与祝福。希望我能做一只展翅高飞的大鹏，翱翔蓝天。

现在，我正在努力，妈妈正在天国里望着我，我不会让她失望。

Dear Sir,

I am a December 2003 graduate from the University of San Francisco (USF)

with a bachelors degree in International Business. As part of my career

planning, I am very interested in supplementing my international business

education with a basic knowledge of the Chinese language. This I hope will help

me enter into business commerce with business organizations partnering with

Chinas economic development.

I already have information from BLCU and hope to study there for at least

one full year starting with this summers program continuing through the fall

and spring semester 2006. Can your office advise me if such scholarships might

be available to me?

I have been studying Chinese for one year now. I am not sure what level I

belong to. I was told that there will be an HSK test in our university in

September. I am planning to attend the test. But I dont know if the result of

the test is recognized by your university. If so, can it be a help for me to

apply for the scholarship?
